ART SPRING FESTIVAL – M.A.D. GALLERY M.A.D. is the way, M.A.D. is a slogan, M.A.D. is a family, M.A.D. is ART.
M.A.D. was born in 2015 in Corso San Gottardo, in the well known Navigli area of Milan, and from that day in February it never stopped being an international point of reference for culture. Born from a joint project of the two main curators Carlo Greco and Alessandra Magni, the gallery is located in a typical Italian court, where old and new, tradition and innovation are linked in an incredibly harmonic way. M.A.D. Gallery’s name talks for itself: a place where not only art lives, but also fashion and design: M, A and D stand for the italian words Moda, Arte and Design,
but there’s more: MAD in English means crazy, that’s the spirit that lives in 18, Corso San Gottardo, a spontaneous, unconventional, original attitude brought to life by a real passion for art. The International Collective Exhibition of March, the Art Spring Festival, will take place for two weeks and, as usual in M.A.D., will be opened by a big party, where artists and viewers, art collectors and our staff mix and collaborate for the love of culture. Entering in the courtyard you’ll be politely greeted by some members of the team, young and competent professionals that will guide you through the two floors of the beautiful gallery, in an interesting conversation that will make you become part of M.A.D.’s big family. From the specific technique of an artist, to the singular life experience to the other, from the spectacular straws of color of one painting to the incredible effect of a material: you’ll be able to understand and even to know personally the artists of our gallery in an informal, casual and cosy framework.

Visitors, art lovers, artists and curators have been surprised and amazed, becoming part of M.A.D.‘s world.
His words “It’s not an artwork. It is based on the fact that the artistic elaboration, or the assignment of the artist, and here I quote Philippe Daverio, is having the capacity of resuming what there was before him. That’s my resume of the whole contemporary art, and it’s also a tribute to Warhol and an irreverence against “normal”, formal, art, it’s a tribute to music. But there’s no centrality. It’s not about Robbie Williams. It’s the pixel that contains all my relationship with Warhol’s art”. DF
