Tiki Mulvihill è un’artista poliedrica che si dedica alla scultura, alle performance e alle installazioni regalando senari unici che mettono in contatto la sensibilità umana con la sua parte più primordiale. Forme organiche ispirate alla natura che diventano la compresenza di più elementi naturali nella stessa opera dove il legno muta trasformandosi in forme nuove che sembrano essere levigate dal vento o dall’acqua. Un’organicità della scultura che lega in un simposio l’idea di primordiale e selvaggio alla sua contrapposizione contemporanea vibrante e meccanica. Un ritorno allo stato naturale che nel contempo viene influenzato dall’operato dell’uomo il quale viene a sua volta coinvolto in un linguaggio armonico che sorge alla base del potere della natura. Nelle opere di Tiki Mulvihill si ha il ritorno un qualcosa di primitivo, alla sua essenza primordiale che esplode caricando il legno di un’anima ricca resa visibile dagli ornamenti inseriti sulla superficie, abbellimenti che ricordano i gioielli orientali dove il concetto di bellezza si interseca a quello di fortuna. Degli amuleti che accompagnano la morbidezza delle forme rendendole complete nel loro essere come se senza gioielli nulla apparisse finito, una conclusione della forma scultorea che nell’insieme diventa immanente nel suo essere. Tiki Mulvihill is a multifaceted artist dedicated to sculpture, performances and installations, giving unique senaries that bring human sensibility into contact with its most primal part. Organic forms inspired by nature that become the presence of more natural elements in the same work where the wood changes into new forms that seem to be smoothed by the wind or water. An organism of sculpture that links in a symposium the idea of primordial and wild to its contemporary vibrating and mechanical contrast. A return to the natural state that is at the same time influenced by the work of man who is in turn involved in a harmonious language that rises at the base of the power of nature. In Tiki Mulvihill's works, something primitive is returned, to its primordial essence that explodes by loading the wood of a rich soul made visible by the ornaments inserted on the surface, embellishments reminiscent of oriental jewels where the concept of beauty intersects that of luck. Of the amulets that accompany the softness of the forms, making them complete in their being as if nothing were appearing without jewels, a conclusion of the sculptural form that as a whole becomes immanent in its.
Swim è scultura lignea adornata da elementi richiamanti il mare, una tazza dalla quale nasce la potenza dell’acqua che si propaga verso l’alto con il suo colore scuro. Un micro mondo organico nel quale l’osservatore viene catturato per sprofondarci dentro appena cessa il movimento ascendente, un mondo nel quale nuotano animali marini e prendono vita cristalli luminosi. In basso la scritta “swim” richiama sia il titolo che un sentimento impertinente di abbandono all’impotenza della forza naturale sprigionata dalle onde.
Swim
Swim is a wooden sculpture adorned with elements recalling the sea, a cup from which the power of the water that rises upwards with its dark color is born. A micro organic world in which the observer is captured to sink in as soon as the upward movement ceases, a world in which marine animals swim and bright crystals come to life. Below the word "swim" recalls both the title and an impertinent feeling of abandonment to the impotence of the natural force emanating from the waves.
Swirl Gear è una scultura verticale che sembra un forte pugno adorno che batte incessantemente sulla superficie di appoggio, lo scorrere del tempo smembrato nelle parti dei suoi stessi ingranaggi che ruotano intorno alla pesantezza del loro insieme. Il lento e continuo fluire della vita quotidiana dell’uomo che si incontra e si scontra con la forza travolgente della natura. Swirl Gear is a vertical sculpture that looks like a strong fist adornment that beats incessantly on the support surface, the passage of time dismembered in the parts of its own gears that revolve around the heaviness of their whole. The slow and continuous flow of the daily life of the man who meets and clashes with the overwhelming force of nature.

Time Peace rappresenta il tempo che diventa equilibrio del mondo, il centro tra sole e luna, una salda montagna che conforta l’esistenza. Orologi fermi ad ore diverse sono sparsi su tutta la superficie lignea, un’immobilità che diventa essa stessa pace, come se questa fosse raggiunta solamente nel momento in cui tutto si blocca. Un’opera che ha forti richiami con La persistenza della memoria di Dalì ma nel suo significato opposto, una memoria che si arresta pacificata nell’esatto momento in cui tutto è in un’alterata e immutabile armonia. Una pace che perpetua solo nella sua staticità.
Time Peace
Time Peace represents the time that becomes the balance of the world, the center between sun and moon, a solid mountain that comforts existence. Clocks fixed at different times are spread over the entire wooden surface, a stillness that becomes peace itself, as if this were achieved only when everything stops. A work that has strong references to “La persistenza della memoria” by Dalì but in its opposite meaning, a memory that stops pacified in the exact moment when everything is in an altered and unchanging harmony. A peace that perpetuates only in its static nature.
