Lewis Hamilton desperdició su oportunidad de ganar el Gran Premio de Azerbaiyán después de estropear un reinicio con un estilo impactante y poco habitual. Lewis Hamilton blew his chance to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after messing up a restart in shocking – and uncharacteristic – style. The opportunity came after Max Verstappen suffered late heartbreak when his left-rear tire burst at 200 MPH. The race was stopped for 34 minutes and then restarted on the grid – a twolap shootout. Hamilton, who overstretched for the victory as the lights went out again, locked up at the first corner and went straight on, plunging him down the field. Verstappen was unharmed but furious about his accident. The Dutchman kicked the offending tire and banged his fist hard on anything he could find. It was a bitter blow, for he had driven beautifully and looked sure to open his championship lead over Hamilton on merit rather than by luck. Questions are being asked of tire supplier Pirelli about the two near-identical failures. Was the rubber faulty? Or was debris the culprit…?
