Astronaut Challenge
The Student Astronaut Challenge Middle School team once again qualified for the finals at Kennedy Space Center in February. They will be joined by the Maclay Upper School team this year as well. The team practices with learning the practical application of science, technology, engineering, and math with Ms. Barton, including working on the space shuttle simulators.

Spelling Bee
Congratulations to the Middle School Spelling Bee winner, HawaLarai Harruna, who will represent Maclay School in the District Bee in January.
Junior Beta
Maclay Junior Beta welcomed new members and officers at an induction ceremony in November. The Jr. Beta Club not only provides leadership opportunities but also performs service projects throughout the year, such as shopping for gifts for the Guardian Ad Litem.
Aviation Field Trip
As part of the curriculum in the Introduction to Aviation, Aeronautics, and Space Elective the class got a behind the scenes view of the world of aviation. Their tour of the Tallahassee International Airport included the terminal building, observation room, training rooms, air operations, aviation security, TSA baggage operations, career opportunities, airport design and layout, emergency procedures, airfield operations, careers in aviation, and more!
Model UN
The Model UN club had an opportunity to listen to an interview with the General Secretary of the United Nations António Guterres about the 76th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 76).
Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing is just one of the many clubs and organizations in Maclay Middle School. This year, the club members got to enjoy a field trip to put their skills to the test.
