With increases in global production and consumption of plastics, and with less than 20% of plastics recycled globally, plastic waste is increasing. While efforts have been undertaken lately, the COVID-19 crisis has reshuffled businesses’ priorities and slowed down progress on plastic reduction. At Mademoiselle Desserts, we did not let COVID-19 interrupt our long-term plans for sustainability. We've continued focusing on reducing our use of plastics wherever this is feasible, or whenever a robust replacement is readily available. We are achieving this by removing or reducing the grade/type of plastic within our supply chain, by working with our suppliers and by identifying and seizing every single opportunity for us to do things differently. 5
Our CPET white plastic food trays now contains up to 78% recycled content.

We are currently working with a plastic producer to move to a new range of plastic products that contain 85% recycled content and this plastic offers a circular economy, so it can be used again and again.

The flow wrap chosen is also kerbside collectable.

According to our research, brownie is the most consumed type of traybake in the UK. But most represented profiles don’t leave much space for innovation and variety. We know consumers want choice & innovation, we also know they want the latter delivered in a low-risk way. Classic recipes with a refreshing modern twist deliver just that!

Lets Celebrate
According to industry specialists, “Celebration” is one of the main missions driving Round Cake consumption. Why? Because Round Cakes deliver indulgence and a proper treat feeling that can be shared with family and friends. As celebration is not an everyday occasion, customers really want it to feel special and memorable. That’s why decoration, design and particularly colours are very important factors to consider when choosing the perfect celebration cake to add to your range. Visually impactful items are also a great way to spread the word about your business on Social Media channels!
