Baduzzi The most recent newcomer to Wynyard Quarter is meatball-centric restaurant Baduzzi. It’s the latest venture by restaurateur Michael Dearth, whose dream to open an Italian-style restaurant has been eight years in the making. Housed at the base of the new ASB Building, the interior steals plenty of natural light from outside, fitted with olive green leather banquet seating, dark wood, and tarnished copper accents. Dearth brings his passion for great food, wine and company to the forefront with this lively new eatery.

Pearl Garden Back in 1975 an innovative energetic Mama Kan (Pauline) started a small intimate restaurant with eight tables, 30 plates and 30 bowls. Pauline did most of the cooking herself as well as overseeing the daily purchase of fresh produce and occasionally the washing up after service. She had a vision to introduce a different Chinese cuisine into Newmarket with a variety of dumpling delicacies and wok inspired specialties, reminiscent of her renowned cookbook recipes.
