Designer: Kira Gray of Fyfe Kitchens Title: Master Bedroom Suite Region: Auckland Award: Spatial Innovation Design - Residential.
Set within a home with a tropical influence, this creation by Kira Gray of Fyfe Kitchens was designed to make a statement with a garden influence. The bed interacts with the outside deck setting, while the master wardrobe was positioned to the rear of the room to maximise the space, connecting the ensuite and also providing the backdrop for the bed. A galley style ‘his and hers’ fullylined wardrobe was designed with maximum hanging but minimal drawers. To keep consistency with the rest of the tropical home, stained oak veneer was selected. Sandy tones and hues of the sea were introduced to the interior furnishings to create a tranquil ambient space. The design won the Residential Spatial Innovation Design at the 2019 NKBA Excellence in Design Awards.
