AcuEnergetics to run more meditation workshops in India in 2009

How does it work? In short, AcuEnergetics® practitioners understand how energetic channels and centers work in the body. When these channels are blocked, specific illness, pain or symptoms can appear. AcuEnergetics® practitioners work with chakras, pranic fields, meridians and other energetic channels. Using their hands they feel blockages and imbalances in the energetic system and can clear them using various energetic techniques. What happens? During an AcuEnergetics® treatment the client remains fully clothed. Depending on the treatment, the practitioner may treat with their hands on or off the client’s body. “If you wish to see why the body is the way it is, look at how you’ve been thinking for the past ten years. If you wish to see how your body will be in ten years time, look at how you’re thinking now.” Buddha 550bc AcuEnergetics® is a modern energy healing modality, based on a detailed understanding of the energetic physiology & anatomy of the body. It combines the latest discoveries in energy work with traditional knowledge from ancient texts by Chinese, Middle Eastern, Indian & Western Physicians. AcuEnergetics® understands the whole energy body and its connection to the mind, which is vital for the effective treatment of any symptom in the body. A New Earth

Illuminating, enlightening, and uplifting, A New Earth is a profoundly spiritual guide to creating a better way of living and a better world to live in. Building on the astonishing success of The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle presents readers with an honest look at the current state of humanity: He implores us to see and accept that this state, which is based on an erroneous identification with the egoic mind, is one of dangerous insanity. Tolle tells us there is good news, however. There is an alternative to this potentially dire situation. Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness,Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are which is something infinitely greater than anything we currently think we are and learn to live and breathe freely. Review sourced from buy.com

The Psychology of the Body Kevin Farrow, Founder and Director of AcuEnergetics®, has released his latest book The Psychology of the Body: The First Accurate Mapping of the Energy Body. In his new book Farrow explains how mind and emotions affect the body through the energetic system. Although this concept of a mind and body connection is not a new one, exactly how this occurs has until now remained somewhat of a mystery. This is where Farrow’s 30 years of research and discoveries provide a clear and precise framework from which to understand how the physical, mental, emotional and energetic systems work together – and how together they can either create illness or wellness in the body.

A New Way o an acupuncturist meets

acuenergetics®

by Rupa Selecki

The ancient Chinese believed a universal life energy called Qi is present in every living creature. This energy is said to circulate throughout the body along specific pathways called meridians. As long as this energy flows freely throughout the meridians, health is maintained. But once the flow of energy is blocked, the system is disrupted; pain and illness occur. Acupuncture works to “re-program” and restore normal functions by stimulating certain points on the meridians in order to free up the Qi. It is one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing in the world. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) maintains that good health is ultimately dependent on harmony in mind and spirit as well as balance in our lifestyle and surrounding environment. Medical case histories written around 90 BCE, recently discovered in China, show understanding of the emotional context of illness, and consideration of environmental and seasonal influences, and represent early indications of the science of ‘life nurturing’ medicine and disease prevention (Reference1).

I had also been concerned about using energetic healing without some kind of theoretical framework and clear protocol and at the same time aware of the mounting evidence on the medical values of prayer as well as laughter. Were meditation and good intentions enough? How can we be more accurate? Is the practitioner protected? In my practice I would treat many exhausted healers and therapists. I had many unanswered questions. What I had learned so far in QiGong and other energetic modalities had its limitations. AcuEnergetics® offered an accurate and straightforward system fitting in with all I knew about TCM, health and meditation. Its theory - drawing from Taoism, Kabbalah, Buddhist and Yogic understanding - details how the mind affects the body, how we get sick and imbalanced, and most important, what exactly we can do about it. I subsequently became a student at the AcuEnergetics® school and the specific techniques, balances and treatments I learned made sense, were simple, often fun and felt right . Whilst studying Acuenergetics® I experienced dramatic personal healing and changes and noticed similar shifts and opening in other students.

I have had a number of opportunities to combine acupuncture with AcuEnergetics® techniques and so far I have seen results in a number of situations that would be different to the outcome that based on I have been practicing acupuncture and TCM for 18 years. I have my experience with clients, would be reasonably expected from always tried to keep my approach in tune with the spirit of the acupuncture alone. ancient Taoist texts from where most of our TCM theory originates. There are so far five aspects that I have found interesting and useful I have studied and incorporated into my work both meditation and in relation to acupuncture: Qigong including energetic healing, as well as herbs, diet, psychology, environmental science and conventional medical science. 1. We literally close our heart off to particular parts of we can feel when any congestion has cleared. Not surprisingly the the body or thoughts ! In acupuncture we would diagnose this as a client often becomes aware of the changes as well . ‘shen’ disturbance and maybe use points to balance the fire energy as ‘When I had acupuncture with Rupa I could feel the Qi in the well as treat the injury . meridian being stimulated….then when she began using resonance, AcuEnergetics® offers a simple way to explore this phenomena in (an Acuenergetics® technique) to a point (on the meridian) then the depth using specific skills to gently unlock and clear such problems whole pathway seemed to light up. Together this had a strong clearing and balancing effect’, Bianca, psychology student. allowing quick relief from symptoms. A female client (E) age 42 had a bad cough and cold since three weeks. She had tried various medical and holistic treatments but was still unwell. She was pale and exhausted. She was due to teach a 3 week course in a few days time. Usually I would treat this with herbs and acupuncture. This time I used acupuncture treating points on the lung meridian and the upper back near the lungs and heart ( UB 14 and UB43, as well as GV 14, shentao, Lung 7) This helped her relax but she was still very exhausted and felt congested. Then I treated the lung meridian and heart chakra energetically. I asked her what had been happening when the cough and cold began. She is a hypnotherapist and familiar with this kind of questioning but at first could not recall anything - then after five minutes of energetic treatment she remembered a big disagreement with her best friend just before the cold started. They had gone separate ways - she had tried to reconcile but that had proved impossible. As she talked I felt her breathing expanding and deepening and the atmosphere in the room changed becoming silent and peaceful. By that evening she had stopped coughing and her energy levels were better. She told me the next day she had not felt so well in a long time and resumed teaching without a problem. Very often we may not recall emotional upsets or consider them relevant to our physical health. E had felt she had come to terms with her grief about losing her friend and had not associated the onset of the cold with this. However when we experience different emotional states our breathing is affected. Usually our natural homeostatic mechanisms kick in to balance things out – we take a deep breath and move on. If we hold onto pain/grief as she did, the Lung Qi (i.e. flow of energy in the Lungs) is affected. The AcuEnergetics® technique helped her awaken and integrate her emotions. She said later, ‘I really liked that I was able to touch emotional issues, I hadn’t connected it with my cold, it helped bring things to my awareness ‘- ‘as soon as I understood this and most importantly for me voiced this during the healing treatment everything cleared’

Liza, a homeopath & counsellor says “I have experienced both Acupuncture and AcuEngergetics® treatments with Rupa… for me the AcuEnergetics® taps directly into the energetic pathways and meridians. Although no needles were used and often even no touching the body, the Acuenergetics® actually feels more substantial…...the more in tune you become you can become part of your own healing -you feel tangible movements of energy and its qualities..” Clients have even been able to accurately experience energy pathways without prior knowledge. A male client age 27 had numbness in lateral aspect of his arm and hand after a skiing accident and also ear problems. I treated his hand energetically, using the (Small Intestine) meridian which goes through the affected areas. He described feeling energy running up his arm to his ear. Then he asked me if it goes through the spine as well (this meridian actually opens another meridian that does exactly that!). After opening the meridians in this way I treated him with acupuncture at the relevant points. He has since begun to regain sensation in the affected areas and feels aware of changes in the energetic pathways. AcuEnergetics® is based on the understanding, that true healing happens when the heart and its infinite wisdom is allowed to connect with the hidden aspects of ourselves. Combining acupuncture with AcuEnergetics® allows me and my clients to enjoy this great potential. Dave Flakelar is one of the most well known practitioners in AcuEnergetics®, having been the first qualified practitioner to be taught by AcuEnergetics® founder Kevin Farrow. In 2001, Dave left behind a stable career in surveying on the New South Wales mid-north coast to take the giant leap into the world of alternative therapies. In the 7 years since he started practicing, Dave has never looked back.

“Making the choice all those years to go down this path was without a doubt one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life,” says Dave. Now with a large clientele in both Sydney and Forster, Dave commutes between the two places to satisfy the growing demand for practitioners outside of Sydney. Dave is also a qualified AcuEnergetics® teacher and next year will teach an AcuEnergetics® workshop in Canada and the United States. “Teaching in Canada next year will be a huge thrill for me both personally and professionally. I love teaching and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to help share this amazing work with other people. For AcuEnergetics®, this is also a great opportunity for us to continue to grow and help new people in different countries,” added Dave.

Finding Balance in your heart

Remember the first three weeks of being in love? It’s amazing! It’s when you love everyone and everything…the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the passing motorists, dogs, cats and insects, and of course your beloved. As an added bonus, nothing at all seems to bother you and then gradually, it wears off. Why? The reason that you felt love in the first place was that your heart was open for a short time. When your heart is open you do love everyone and everything. Life is beautiful and profound. Then you start closing down your heart, take a deep breath and re-enter the grey zone. In fact, for many of us, life goes back to “normal”. Usually our hearts are only open when we fall in love, have children or when we are on holidays. We fall in love with a holiday destination because when we go there, we drop our worries and open our hearts. Then we come home, close our hearts, and talk and dream about moving to our geographical ideal. If or when we move there, unfortunately it’s just not the same. If you want the experience of love again, it’s simpler than chasing people or geographical destinations. Just open your heart. You don’t have to pay for holidays or have another person be the trigger. In ancient times, many spiritual schools of learning taught techniques to open the heart centre. Nowadays, while there are still some schools that teach these practices, they have been mostly ignored and forgotten. Our modern love is generally towards an object, usually a partner or child. We don’t think of love as a state of our being, rather as an attitude that we have towards someone or something. When our hearts are not really open, we are incapable of allowing love and trust to be within us. No one learns love and trust, they just happen automatically when we open our hearts. It’s how we’re made. If we don’t love and trust life, then we seek to control it. This controlling and closing of the heart signals is a way of developing illness in the body. In common parlance, we say that we “hold things” against people and situations. In fact what we hold, ever more tightly is our heart. If you shut your heart down against someone, you will have to find the antidote of forgiveness to open it up again. This is not that easy. Just saying “I forgive so and so” won’t make any difference. You will have to discover the true energy of forgiveness in yourself. True forgiveness isn’t something you do, it’s something that you find in your heart. When you find it you will forgive everyone for every thing. Until that happens your forgiving is just practicing.

“If you shut your heart down against someone, you will have to find the antidote of forgiveness to open it up again.”

The ramifications of closing your heart on your physical health are profound, but they are still generally unrecognised. In the 1990’s, Dr Dean Ornish’s famous study of the treatment of coronary patients showed that even “untreatable” heart disease could begin a process of healing when the patients went through a personal emotional counselling process with their partners and family. The publication of Ornish’s study in “The Lancet” and most of the other major medical journals, has ensured that the cutting edge of health professionals acknowledge the link between heart problems and emotional blockage. What isn’t recognised by western medicine is how far this closing of the heart affects the body. In some forms of energy medicine, this heart/body correspondence has been recognised. A simple example is the heart’s effect on the six acupuncture meridians that flow through your shoulder. These meridians are all associated with the heart. [The heart and heart protector channels directly, small intestine and triple heater through their elemental pairs and lung and large intestine through the Ko cycle.] As the meridians act like lawn sprinklers dispersing energy to muscles and tissues, when you close your heart down, this affects the flow of energy in those six meridians. If you damage your shoulder during this period and only have conventional physio, chiropractic or acupuncture treatment, you stand a very good chance of having a long spell off from tennis. It makes good sense to play with an open heart. A simple technique to help open the heart is the Tibetan Forgiveness Meditation. In this meditation, first sit and find a place of stillness within yourself. If that feels impossible, sit and breathe deeply for nine breaths. Then visualise someone whom you unconditionally love standing in front of you. This can be your dog or cat, whoever gives you a feeling of warmth in your heart. Next, bring your friends into your visualisation and stay with the feeling of warmth in your heart. Then, while still feeling the heart’s love and warmth, add your family, then your acquaintances and finally those people that you have issues with. If you can stay with the feelings of the heart instead of the judgements of the mind, you will take a big step towards forgiving others, keeping yourself healthy and making your life beautiful and profound.
