Six steps that will lead to success together At the start of the conversation with our clients, we like to challenge their communication strategy. We analyse it through three distinct and complementary prisms: Corporate Communication, Business Development and Employer Branding.

In a context where talent acquisition can be more complex than customer acquisition, it’s crucial to integrate it fully into any communication strategy. Our strength lies in our association with influ-

ential media brands, enabling

us to generate exceptional reach while maintaining audience trust. We deploy

unique communication tools,

skillfully combining the advantages of traditional advertising with those of native advertising, to maximise the impact of each campaign. In addition, we can multiply the effect of native advertising campaigns tenfold by complementing them with digital marketing initiatives on platforms such as Google or Meta.

All of this is embodied in powerful strategic recommendations, supported by

solid annual media plans, carefully crafted for clients with long-term commitments.

We believe in the value of lasting relationships.

This philosophy has been at the heart of Maison Moderne’s approach during the first 30 years of its existence. It goes without saying that we invite you to continue this tradition.

Luxembourg, a Business Powerhouse Luxembourg is undoubtedly a powerhouse of business and finance, with one of the most stable and attractive economies in the world. Luxembourg’s capital city is the hub of a Greater Region of over 11.6 million inhabitants across four countries. Some 222,000 crossborder workers, out of a total workforce of 516,000, stream into Luxembourg every day. Many workplaces have a multilingual environment, with French and English the main languages spoken at work. 98% of the population speak French and 80% speak English.

Real GDP growth in Luxembourg in the first quarter of 2023 grew by 2% compared to the last three months of 2022. The main contributors to that growth were construction as well as financial and insurance activities. 6

The country is home to some 40,000 active companies, including many European headquarters and hubs, and several domestic companies that are now major employers. But the economy is also rich in SMEs and micro-enterprises. Luxembourg’s GDP per capita is the highest in the world, at $135.000, and the Grand Duchy’s citizens are among the richest consumers in the world.

Residents spent an average of 35% more than their European counterparts in 2019 according to Eurostat. This wealth also contributes to Luxembourg’s consistent top 10 ranking in the World Happiness Report.

Illustration: Bizou Futé

Renowned as the second-largest investment fund centre in the world, and first in Europe, with some €5.5trn in assets under management, Luxembourg also has a healthy private banking sector, with over €510bn in assets and an average growth of 7%. 65,000 people work in the financial services industry. Luxembourg, which has a long-lasting reputation for being a first mover on new trends and innovation, is home to the world’s first and only stock exchange platform dedicated exclusively to sustainable securities: the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX). It also has a vibrant fintech ecosystem that has attracted over 300 start-ups and innovators.

Luxembourg, a market that lacks data Media studies in the Grand Duchy continue to fail to consider the complexity of what is an interesting and heterogeneous market. In reality, media audiences in Luxembourg consist of residents of four countries and they consume media in at least five different languages. The Plurimedia study, conducted by Ilres, focuses solely on residents and does not consider English as a language. That means the 222,000 cross-border commuters, as well as resident English speakers, are de facto excluded from the study. The media penetration rates in the Plurimedia study are therefore based only on a portion of the total population and just half of the active workforce. Insight into the media consumption of these 300,000 people (cross-border commuters + residents whose preferred language is English) could significantly improve the quality of data provided by the Plurimedia study.

Why Native Advertising?

Unlock the power of your quality content... By seamlessly mirroring the appearance of regular content in the relevant media, Native Advertising is non-disruptive and engages with its audience in a natural manner, giving the reader a more enjoyable experience. Optimal for long-term communication strategies, Native Advertising provides an opportunity for a company or brand to create consistent

messaging and build a relationship with its target audience based on trust. But to be truly successful,

Native Advertising requires effective Content Strategy, which should be developed in tandem between the brand and the media as part of a mutually beneficial long-term partnership. With Native Advertising, the brand not only benefits from an expanded audience reach due to the credibility of the media, but also provides readers with high-value content, aligning the advertiser’s interests with those of its target audience.

Understanding what you want to 16

focus on – whether it’s awareness, growth, engagement or anything else – is essential when defining your communication objectives and addressing your specific targets through Native Advertising. Recognising those specific communication challenges and properly anticipating market needs will allow the creation of quality narrative that will reward both the brand and the educated audience at which it is aimed.

Why Native Advertising?

... with a powerful media brand Native Advertising is available in Print, Digital and Live Experiences. It is communication through content. To be effective, it must be informative or useful to readers, but it can also be entertaining. Its format must be perfectly integrated into the context in which it is placed by using the right codes (tone of voice, artistic, direction). It is more effective if it is strategically planned in the medium- or long-term. Provided it is well produced, Native Advertising is powerful and complements

traditional advertising campaigns.

1. Brand Voice Print A double-page format integrated seamlessly into the relevant magazine, a Brand Voice Print provides advertisers with the opportunity to engage directly with sophisticated readers in a variety of editorial formats, including tailor-made articles, narrative stories and Q&A interviews. These can be enhanced with visual elements such as timelines, infographics and photographs that will help a company hone the message it wants to share. If the communication objectives require it, a four-page format is also available. Content produced by Maison Moderne. Available in Delano, Paperjam and Inflight.

2. Partner Content Partner Content is a hybrid format that comprises advertising and a Brand Voice. Combining storytelling expertise and visually striking graphics, it is available in full-page and double-page formats. Content provided by the client. Available in Delano, Paperjam and Inflight.

17

3. Grands Dossiers The Grands Dossiers focus on the most topical business challenges, interviewing key market and institutional players, providing experts the opportunity to spotlight specific solutions. On the Grands Dossiers release date, all Paperjam and/or Delano subscribers can discover all experts’ contributions through a dedicated newsletter. In addition, each contribution is also published in the twice daily Paperjam newsletter and/or the Delano newsletter. These contributions include at least an article and a video interview. They can also be enriched with additional embedded content (presentations, white papers, catalogues, videos, maps, etc.). All contributions are hosted on paperjam.lu and delano.lu, which allows for greater reach at a lower cost, while benefiting from bilingual SEO. It is recommended that these contributions be promoted via social media channels, newsletters or in your corporate email signature (including the title and the link to the page hosted by us). Video production is included in our offer and the creation of any additional content can be handled by the Brand Studio as a paid option. To boost the reach, a Grand Dossier can be accompanied by a banner campaign on websites and/or newsletters on paperjam.lu or delano.lu, or of course both. This allows for a more consistent reach. The appreciation of know-how and experts contributes to converting an audience, attracting an engaged public, all the while continuously improving brand referencing. Available on delano.lu and paperjam.lu.

Useful tip 4. Knowledge – your expertise in the long term In the “Communities & Expertise” area, you will find the “Knowledge” section, which brings together the words of experts on strategic themes such as the financial market, real estate, tech & innovation, legal, administration & finance, management, communication & marketing, HR & training, sustainability, tools & skills, etc. For each company committing to 12/24 months, a landing page is created around the brand and the theme it has chosen. Companies can choose to publish 5, 10 or 15 articles per year. These contributions consist of an article illustrated by a photo. It can be enriched by additional embedded content (presentations, white papers, catalogues, videos, maps, etc.). Participating in the Knowledge section allows you to strengthen your reputation on a chosen theme, amplify your thought leadership and develop your business or attract talent.

These contributions can be published on paperjam.lu or delano.lu, or both. The appreciation of know-how and experts contributes to converting an audience, attracting an engaged public, all the while continuously improving brand referencing. Each time a contribution is published, it is integrated into the respective Paperjam and Delano newsletters for significant amplification. It is recommended that these contributions be distributed via social media, newsletters or corporate email signatures (including the title and link to the page hosted by us). Content production can be handled by the Brand Studio: interviews, article writing, photography, video. These services have an extra charge. Available on delano.lu and paperjam.lu.

Spread your Native Content on both Paperjam and Delano to make the most of your strategic content production. Simply translate content, take advantage of a combo rate and get the broadest reach for the best price.

Paperjam Enjeux The Paperjam Enjeux section features an in-depth report into a particular topic spread over 10 pages. A qualified editorial context that enhances the impact of advertisers’ communication.

Industrie 50 (24.01.2024)

MICE (28.02.24)

Ecological transition (27.03.24)

Even if the iron and steel industry boom at the beginning of the 20th century was key to Luxembourg’s economic development, industry remains a vibrant sector today. The Grand Duchy is home to hundreds of national and international players. Paperjam has selected 50 companies from the manufacturing industry sector (agri-food, automotive, chemicals, metal products, steel, etc.). Discover the 50 key players, a discussion with FEDIL on the challenges facing industry and a portfolio featuring ten key manufacturers. ¼ Diffusion at FEDIL’s New Year Reception (23.01.24)

Luxembourg’s ambition is to become one of the world’s top 50 destinations for conference tourism, a goal pursued by the government with the support of the Luxembourg MICE Cluster, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Luxembourg for Tourism and the LCTO. Mapping the MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) and professionals in the tourism and events industries. Did you know? One third of MICE event organisers are international, and the main sectors that organise events are the financial centre, ICT and transport/logistics. Interviews on the challenges facing the sector (sustainability, tech, interactivity, unique experiences, etc.). And let’s not forget that these professionals also provide services for companies when they need to organise customer or employee events.

Practical guide for businesses and institutions on how to make a success of their ecological transition. Rethink their economic model by challenging the principles of the circular economy. Reduce their carbon footprint (carbon audit, carbon strategy). Improving energy consumption and/or becoming a producer of renewable energy. Rethink employee mobility and the energy performance of buildings. Useful: a selection of ready-to-use best practices from different sectors. And sidebars: “Communicate yes, avoid greenwashing”, “Simple gestures companies can take”. A map of key players (Nohaltegkeetsrot, IMS, etc.). ¼ Launch at the 10×6 Leading CIOs’ Challenges 2024

Space (24.04.24)

Artificial intelligence (19.06.24)

Talents (25.09.24)

In just a few years and building on the success of satellite operator SES, Luxembourg has developed a flourishing space industry. More than 75 companies and research laboratories are active in the exploration and commercial use of space assets. Public promotion agencies, telecommunication companies and consultancies support this lively ecosystem of start-ups and research. This dossier maps the space sector, highlighting the key players and their goals as well as the investments deployed and their fiscal structuring.

The launch of ChatGPT at the end of November 2022 quickly led to generative artificial intelligence becoming a major topic of discussion and debate. Eighteen months later, what has been its impact on various sectors in Luxembourg – funds, banks, law firms, services, industry? What impact has it had on different professions? What best practices can be shared and applied, whatever the size of the company? What can we expect tomorrow? What ethical and regulatory risks need to be taken into account?

When the scarcity of talent becomes the number one concern for companies regardless of their size and sector, the issue moves up from the human resources department to senior management level. Business leaders have three levers at their disposal: international talent acquisition, talent retention and employee retraining or upskilling. Testimonials and the sharing of best practices will come from the financial centre, service companies and industry. All are united in promoting Luxembourg as a destination for career development. ¼ Sneak announcement at the 10x6 Talents (09.07.24)

Droit du travail (22.05.2024) Driven by changes such as working from home, new modes of organisation, more fragmented careers and the legitimate need for greater inclusivity, labour law is set to evolve significantly over the next few years. At the forefront in terms of defending both the rights of employees and the interests of companies, legal and consulting firms are valuable allies of businesses when it comes to finding a balance in order to ensure corporate growth. This dossier provides an overview of the transformations to come.

ALFI Global Distribution Conference (10.07.24) The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry’s (ALFI) Global Distribution Conference brings together the world’s leading fund distributors and asset managers. The conference is traditionally devoted to the cross-border distribution of investment products, which has enabled the Luxembourg financial centre to become the world leader in the fund sector. Luxembourg is the main domicile for funds distributed on a cross-border basis. This is the perfect opportunity to take stock of market trends. This plays out against a backdrop of innovation and digitalisation in the sector, as well as regulatory changes coming down the pipeline and prospects for business development. ¼ Diffusion at ALFI Global Distribution Conference

Art & Business (23.10.24)

Health and well-being (20.11.24)

From corporate and institutional collections to private collections, the art market continues to become more and more professional. The tenth edition of Luxembourg Art Week is proof of this, with more than 20,000 visitors attracted to the event to meet more than 80 international and Luxembourg-based exhibitors. Paperjam uses this opportunity to take stock of the sector, map out the players and discuss the issues at stake in a field that intertwines art and business. ¼ Launch at Luxembourg Art Week 2024

“Mens sana in corpore sano.” A healthy mind in a healthy body. Taking care of health and well-being is an integral part of work-life balance for employees. For companies, contributing to this balance means facilitating access to sporting activities, preventive health measures and nutritional advice. What are the best practices in terms of well-being within companies? What actions are essential at every stage of life? Testimonials and expert advice. Bonus: a map of the key players in the health field.

Regulation, taxonomy & reporting (11.12.24) The growing obligations to implement robust reporting on ESG issues highlight the need for tailored regulation in a constantly evolving financial landscape, marked by challenges such as climate change. Standardisation, transparency, automation and sustainability become paramount. Thus, while taxonomy must remain robust, it needs to be flexible and adaptive, allowing for improved compliance and decision making. The rise of technology makes the integration of digitisation in these reports inevitable.

While Luxembourg City is a frequent stop-off point for the entire population (cultural, gastronomic, shopping or sporting outings, family visits or professional or even administrative appointments), it is also the country’s leading tourist destination, the capital of international business, etc., not forgetting the workplace for 220,000 cross-border commuters.

Paperjam+Delano Business Club Successful networking and learning since 2008 In 2023, the Paperjam+Delano Business Club delivered on its commitments to become more effective, responsible and efficient.. Five key areas were identified to improve inclusivity and reduce our carbon footprint. In 2024, we will be stepping up these efforts.

Although the business world has become more complex as a result of inflation, rising interest rates, a fall in investment and the disruption caused by geopolitical instability, we stand by our conviction that Luxembourg has the drive, motivation and creativity to ensure its continued economic development. The Paperjam+Delano Business Club aims to make a major contribution to this effort by bringing together entrepre-

neurs, leaders of SMEs and VSBs, major international firms and influential decision makers from the main economic sectors, including finance, technology, real estate and the professions that support them, such as communications and human resources. How will we achieve this? By organising some 100 events at which every member of the Club can find inspiration, whether in the content presented on stage or through direct contact with the heads of more than 1,600 member companies. And by making it easy to find the skills you need, thanks to the more than 200 training modules offered by the Paperjam+Delano Business Club Academy, which is accredited by the Ministry of the Economy

as a professional lifelong learning organisation. There are plenty of new additions and a few surprises in store for 2024. Specifically, we have redesigned our event partnerships so that you can take full advantage of reaching the highly qualified audiences that attend our events and put your company and your brands in the spotlight. With 15 years’ experience, we can offer you tailor-made advice to boost your visibility and guarantee your success. Enjoy discovering the programme of the 16th season! Thank you to our members for their continued confidence in us, and welcome to our future members.

Upskilling partner

In addition to the hundreds of event participants, by associating your brand with the pre-event (3 months) and post-event (1 month) promotional campaign, you’ll benefit from the reach of our Paperjam and Delano media:

Knowing how important it is for you to interact with our audiences during our events, we have created on site partnerships that enable you to customise our pre- and post-conference cocktails to your image. You can also create an animation or an experience, capture the audience’s attention during the conference by asking them questions or use a survey to gather strategic information. We have also thought of SMEs (companies with fewer than 10 employees) who want to improve their visibility with our audiences, by allowing them to distribute a flyer or goodies in giveaway bags.

Finally, we have introduced the upskilling partnership for those who prefer to interact with their target audience in an intimate learning environment (under 50 attendees per session). The upskilling partners will have the chance to sponsor 15 training courses a year (workshops, Off The Record, webinars...) by choosing the target of their choice, among: HR or communications managers, entrepreneurs, or professionals from the financial and legal fields.

Paperjam Top 100 Every two years since 2006, Paperjam has unveiled its “top 100 listing of Luxembourg’s most influential economic decision makers”. Each edition of this listing is compiled by its own independent jury. While the result is not intended to be “scientific”, it is nonetheless the result of a 5-month-long impartial work by a panel of experts who follow a rigorous methodology rich in evaluation, research and discussion. Who will be the 10th person to take the top spot in this prestigious listing? Who will succeed Romain Bausch (2006), Michel Wurth (2008), Ernst Wilhelm Contzen (2010), Gaston Reinesch (2012), Pierre Ahlborn (2014), Marc Giorgetti (2016), Norbert Becker (2018), Michèle Detaille (2020) and Julie Becker (2022). With ten editions, it’s clear how the top 100 reflects the evolution of Luxembourg’s economy. The results will be announced at a black-tie gala dinner ceremony. z 10.12.24

A state-approved training centre with an ambitious

portfolio of training courses that are eligible for state aid, the Academy offers over 200 training courses in 2024, half of which is scheduled, and the other half is “on demand”. These courses are open to all employees of member companies and come in a variety

of formats, including hard and soft skills trainings.

Off The Record: Peer-to-peer learning In this informal peer-to-peer exchange, a manager shares their company’s best practices in a given area. Sessions include up to 20 participants and take place in a private and welcoming setting. Anything said here is off the record. Together we learn, share and exchange ideas. The two one-hour sessions, which are separated by a light lunch, include 20 minutes of presentation and 40 minutes of discussion. There will be six workshops in total during 2024.

Workshops These opportunities for learning and inspiration, condensed into three-hour sessions, are organised in small groups to allow a genuine exchange of ideas among participants and with the trainer. The workshops are structured in seven categories. z Hard skills training includes Communication,

Marketing & Sales; Finance & Accounting; Human Resources; Legal; and Strategy & Operations.

z Soft skills training covers Management

& Leadership; and Personal Development.

Advanced Trainings Advanced training courses, which take place over three to six days, are only provided in French. The Advanced Trainings will take place in Luxembourg City.

Webinars 20 highly effective livestreaming courses on current topics. Each course includes a 45-minute lecture followed by a 15-minute Q&A session with the trainer, offering you the chance to get up to speed quickly. Courses are organised in different cycles: Communication, Marketing & Sales; Finance and Accounting; Human Resources; Management & Leadership, and Personal Development. Replays of webinars will also be available.

Access to some of these courses will be charged according to the level of expertise, with a reduced rate for Club members.

The 10 best ways to interact with the Paperjam +Delano ecosystem

2. Publish a press release with no constraints When information is commercial, it can’t be used by the editorial staff but it can still be of interest to a more specialised readership. The Brand Studio offers a paying option to distribute a press release that is free of editorial demands. You can publish press releases throughout the year, according to your diary, needs or obligations, in the eponymous section.

3. “Take the stage”: speak at conferences or roundtable events Maison Moderne invites its members to share their expertise, experience and point of view by hosting a conference, participating in a roundtable discussion or even taking part in a 10×6 event. This is an opportunity to develop personal thought leadership or give visibility to key contributors.

1. Build relationships with editorial departments Paperjam and Delano readers are interested in business news, and so is the Maison Moderne editorial team. With a newsroom of over 25 journalists, five of whom specialised in financial markets, it is Luxembourg’s most important economics and finance editorial office. It isn’t possible to cover all topics; choices are made and priority is given to exclusives and information that Maison Moderne is the first to receive. Identifying journalists or editors who cover a specific sector, approaching them and sending them i nformation (via news@maisonmoderne. com) a llows for a better distribution within the Paperjam and Delano editorial offices.

4. Recruiting your future collaborators The French-English job boards of Paperjam and Delano provide opportunities to publish job offers. Their visibility is amplified by distribution in highly anticipated newsletters. This is the best way to reach talented people who are not actively searching. 62

5.

8.

Take courses or share your expertise during training sessions

Getting your message across through advertising, native advertising and sponsorship

When your employees progress, your company progresses. With the Paperjam+Delano Business Club’s Academy offer, you can not only continuously improve the skills of your teams, management and leadership, but also host training workshops as an expert or share your best practices with other members.

Whether your targets are B2B, high-end B2C or B2G, they are sure to read Maison Moderne publications. The right advice will ensure the success of a display and native ad campaign in digital, print or a live experience format.

9. 6.

Offer your services and products to other business club members

Successful networking at events

With more than 1,600 companies and institutions, every member can be both supplier and client. The business club is also a matchmaking platform. Every year the Paperjam+Delano Business Club publishes a publication featuring what members can offer to other members and what they are looking for first and foremost.

By participating in events, it is easy to become an active player. Networking is an opportunity to develop your network by introducing yourself to other members, taking an interest in them and what you can bring to the table. It’s a business club, so it’s best to avoid the hard sell and keep in mind that a network is built and maintained on the basis of mutual interests.

10.

7.

Follow business and political news, and share information with colleagues

Communicating as a business club member

Understanding business and political issues, following the latest news from companies, institutions and decision-makers, being attentive to your clients, partners and colleagues means being informed so that you can make the best decisions. Invite your employees to subscribe to the Paperjam and Delano newsletters and offer them a subscription to the magazine(s) to give them access to these resources.

From the international company to the local micro-enterprise, membership allows you to communicate with other members, but also with other readers of Paperjam and Delano, notably through the publication of e-news or by a nswering the new member questionnaire. 63
