DAMI KNIGHT ‘Oh So Natural’ –this single by Dami Knight best illustrates and embodies the artist and his over 12 years of exploration into the magical and wonderous world of sound and music. Knight a product of rural Clarendon, Jamaica grew up mystified by the seamless amalgamation of sound systems and the natural evening sounds of crickets, sunsets and a beauty only observed in Jamaica. A multi -instrumentalist (self-taught) playing bass, guitar, and piano Knight’s unearthing has now put him in a position to craft a backdrop for his story telling, fusing both the agony of real life Jamaican experience and the beauty of Jah’s natural creation – paradise, Jamaica. Born of a dream Knight’s music is half foot in and half foot out, free and bound, a mirror of the
complex nature of the ordinary life. His reason, an inescapable need to create, driven by a vision of perfection and an intentionality to unveil something found only in the realms of his mind. Seek and you will find, the quest to create an authentic reggae sound to his native Jamaica has seen Knight work alongside legends Flabba Holt, Dean Fraser, Dalton Brownie, Benjy Myaz and the late Spyda, to create his own sound. “ The magic of our culture is it’s incomparable simplicity, yet complexity that represents a spiritual connection that reggae music allows the artist to bring into reflection, a tool for human elevation and divinity.”
human connection. ‘Not the things you hear, but the things you feel.’ His first release ‘At last’ self-produced was a success featuring Dean Fraser, the track was a catalyst for Knights embarkment on his musical journey. Not settling for a one hit wonder status, he sought to find a formula that he could recreate. Working with bass legend Flabba Holt on ‘Oh so natural’ was yet another success for Knight, creating both a dub version by DubScientist and his own mix mastered with late Spyda.
He then produced the ‘Slow Joy Riddim’ which reached number one in parts of Europe with hit single ‘More than friends’ by Omari Banks and his own single ‘Changes.’ His latest single finds Knight Knights focus in his music seated firmly in himself, has been a search to get to knowing exactly the directhe heart of the matter, tion he wants to propel his the conceptual ideas found music - ‘Jah is There’ is a in reggae music that cresong that speaks to ates in itself a strong Knight’s experience, and
paints a picture that is familiar to the masses of the people, when all else fails our divinity is unveiled. 2020 will see Knight in studio working on several upcoming projects, and creating visuals for the stories. His time now right, his sound a fruit from a seed planted, nurtured and cultured, now in season. ‘Oh so natural’ the feel of Knight’s music is a journey, a story ever telling and evolving, growing towards the light of the true self and it’s true truth.

very humble. Nina Grande, How did you come up with that name and what is your real name ? I am Olga Josphats. I have always been a big girl, my granny had a funny ndebele nickname for me as i was growin up, when i went into music, i decided to call myself big girl. The year i started though i changed it to Nina Grande which means Big Girl. You advocate for women in most of your songs, what are your thoughts on Feminism in the community, is it a plus or it may bring distortion? Its very commendable, its about damn time. Women have so much to offer in every aspect of life so that a woman’s place is in the kitchen crap just dont cut it anymore. On your facebook page, how do you feel when you see the word Sexy in
the comments section? I laugh it out and appreciate the compliment. When you love what you do, you wont work a day in your life. Interesting quote you wrote on the pic you were with Jah Pryzah . When did it hit you that this is what you want to do? That quote is very true, ever since i was a kid, i knew this is what i was born to do. Ever done a song with them? Not yet but in the future i will. Are you signed to any record label? I am not signed at the moment, but i am working with Mr Forcy from Vic Taks records

I am working on a reggae song titled Mann Mann. My playlist is like a jungle, you will find any and everything there because i have many different moods. I love music. Are you married and whats your take on celebrity marriages? I am not married and i think celeb marriages are very real, they are real people, real feelings and at the end of the day, the show must go on. Some of the unions are very well calculated. Interesting question we always ask, what do you look for in a man? Height lol, i am a short girl but most of all i look for safety in every right.

She went on to release an E.P titled Chosen which is receiving a lot of appreciation on the market. She credits her inspiration to Takura who is an award winning Hip Hop artsit from Zim. “I never thought I would be where I am today in the music industry and if it wasn’t for Takura who's music I really like and enjoy I wouldn't be where I am today so Takura thank you for singing I even did a cover of one of his songs Zvemoyo which is my best song by him. My first performance and first time on stage was at the lake July where I performed 2 tracks from my singles collec-
tion zobona and chop the money and the crowd loved the tracks and my performance. I had a show to launch My E.P by the name The Chosen which was a success now the E.P is trending on social media. The Cymblex 1stAnniversary is another show I performed and here I did tracks from My E.P. with my track Horror from the E.P that rocked the crowd. I must say with the time I have been in the music industry I have learnt a lot and now I know music requires consistency, hard work and patience” For Bookings :+263786275341 Tristelmusic@gmail.com Or you can follow Tristelmusic on all social media handles.
