Chevaun Kepekepe Meet Chevaun Kepekepe, an 18 year old fitness fanatic. I began my fitness journey about 2 years back. I was suffering from bulimia, anxiety and depression. Bullimia is an eating disorder where I'd eat just to throw up. All because I had an idea in my head of how the perfect woman should look like. A skinny face, a small waste and a thigh gap. In the world we live in today, it's very hard to be yourself and love yourself. We are given so many perceptions of how we must be and we often forget who we are. In my last three years of high school I had fell into this big dark hole. I had no idea what was happening nor why. If you asked me to describe it in one sentence, I'd say 'someone came with a huge heavy pebble, and dropped it

right on top of my head', literally. Suddenly, school became difficult, socialising was rough and I was slowly losing myself. I was cutting out friends, failing at school, missing classes, writing forged notes just to get out of school so I could come back to my bed. I had hit rock bottom, everything I want to go right, would just go wrong. I knew, if something didn't change, I wouldn't be here today. It felt like this dark storm was never going to pass. But one day, something came and told me to go to the gym. All I knew were the four walls of my bedroom, my comfort zone. But that day, I still don't know what it was but I was given the strength And so I did. My older brother Colin, (23) is a fitness enthusiast, so growing up he always inspired me.

I knew I had nothing to lose, but everything to gain. It was my way out. Day after day, session after session my life drastically turned back to normal and even better. I was so comfortable in my own skin again. So in love with the person I was becoming. I had goals. My smile was different, this time it was not fake.

at the moment. It just goes to show, you can overcome anything. And storms don't last forever. As humans we need to trust the process. We are all so capable of so much more than we think. Capable of moving mountains. Capable of making a difference. And most importantly being able to love and be yourself.

I started my instragram page, where I'd post my fitness posts. I received a crazy amount of love and my page grew very quickly. People were inspired by me and that was honestly the most amazing feeling in the world. Knowing you are making a difference in someone's life is a feeling Ill never be able to describe.

Whether it be fitness or music, you need to find a passion to and just go for it. Expect the unexpected and take it step by step, each day. Life works in miraculous ways. Where you are now, how you feel now is all part of your journey, a better you is coming. But it all starts with you and your mindset.

I've had so many opportunities, travelling around the world ( South Africa, Netherlands, Ireland, United Kingdom), doing shoots and working with amazing companies. It has also led me into the modelling industry.

And to my ladies, be that powerful, independent strong woman. You are beautiful.

I am currently working on different business opportunities and brands. I am in London

Maritawana Dhliwayo

The Break Up by Maritawana Dhliwayo ‘Pose for the camera now; flick-flick! Pose for the camera now; flick-flick!’ Beyonce’s B’day played in my head as I flashed the camera my seductive smile whilst listening attentively to the photographer’s instructions. I wore nothing but a small sheet of Egyptian cotton and charcoal-coloured lipstick but the lewd gazes I received from the male models standing around the studio, made me feel quite uncomfortable. Jabu the photographer was adjusting his camera’s lens to take a few more shots and I quickly pulled the sheet higher up from my chest so that my breasts wouldn’t end up exposed to everyone in the room. Little did I know that this magazine photoshoot would transform into a gossip tabloid for people to devour on whilst they rusted their breakfasts the next morning. It was then that Danai rushed into the studio with an expression of anger and bewilderment on her face. The slap she gave me felt like a frigid piece of ice had infiltrated my skin. She threw a bunch of photographs in my face and enounced calmly, “Out of all the people…..you? You? You of all people?” You know those popular lyrical words, ‘my heart is beating like a drum’? That’s exactly what my heart was doing in that moment. She knows. I grabbed one of the photographs whilst everyone else chattered excitedly; wondering what was going on. The photographs were black and white envisions of Morgan and I. There was one

where we were entering my apartment and one displayed us sharing a kiss passionately in his Range Rover. “Answer me dammit!” Danai exclaimed. I don’t know if it was just me but I think I had just caught a glimpse of a few models recording Danai and I. “Um dear, let’s go elsewhere and talk. Please. It’s not what you think,” I explained softly. “No let’s talk right here, right now so everyone can know the manipulative, heartless bitch you are!” she stated, loud enough for the whole room to hear her. I made an attempt to calm her down but she wouldn’t allow it. Instead, she turned around facing my colleagues and told them the whole story diary. I must say, Danai is such a talented narrator. She didn’t leave out a single detail. Even the part where her private investigator took shots of us banging at the back of his Mercedes GLA suv. I pleaded to her. “Danai please, you don’t have to go to this”- she interrupted me abruptly. “Shut up! So, ladies and gentlemen, this the so called sweet Danai you adore so much,” she turned to me again and said quickly, “I want you outta here now. Grab all your stuff and never ever show your face at this company again.” And oh boy was she dead serious. She immediately strolled out of the studio before I could even try and convince her to not fire me. After all, we were in a huge recession at the time. This time everyone’s gaze was on me the same time I was having my photos taken

including the female models. Yet they were gazes of shock and disgust. I didn’t know what to say or do. I stood still as if I was the statue of liberty and then the sheet just fell off my body. It’s funny though. I thought Jabu was rushing over to cover me up before they took snaps and posted them on Twitter. But nah, this world is full of shitty people. Rather, he hurried over to seize the photographs and a few others joined him to see what Danai was talking about. Wanna know how I felt? Don’t even ask. I just walked away as my colleagues continued to take pictures of my body before I covered it up with a snow white dressing gown. I was slowly making my way to the dressing gown and ignoring someone calling my name until my eyes were on Felix. He had obviously seen and understood everything but instead of being disgusted, he appeared sympathetic with that ‘I told you’ look written all over his face. He was walking over to me but I left before he could utter a single word. I closed and locked the door to the changing room behind me and strolled to my personal dressing table. I took out the pregnancy test with two lines clearly shown in black and white. Not only had I lost my best friend and a confidante, I had lost a sister. Why didn’t I just tell her myself?

Meet Talk of Hot Femcees and leave out Marian Mubochwa better known as Melmery on the stage would be an unforgiveable crime. Though she is a star in the making, she has managed to penetrate into the ever vicious, competitive music industry with her three tracks titled ‘Maybe. Hatina Musha and Ukungazi’ featuring Trissty. She was born on the 17th of September 1997 and started her musical journey in 2017.

“My parents and the society

are my biggest inspiration coz I produce after an experience or saw somethng in the streets. In the next 5 years I see my music being embraced and changing the society coz that is the goal why I rap in the first place. My songs are motivational and encouraging”. PROFILE

THE SOUL OF AN ARTIST

TUNDE Tunde - the soul of an artist, whose songs portray meaningful topics, while at the same time invite you to dance to fresh rhythms and pop sounds with elements of dance music and contemporary sounds of trap and dancehall. Tunde invites listeners and viewers to a journey into everlasting love! At the end of 2017, Tunde rediscovers a passion that she had left behind for the past few years: writing lyrics and composing her own songs. It was at that moment that she made the decision to start 2018 with a new resolution which was to take singing classes on a regular basis without realizing that this would completely change her musical and artistic expression. After a lifetime dedicated to

being a classical flutist with studies in Vienna and Graz, experience in performing arts, touring and even having her portfolio album as a flute soloist in classical music, Tunde feels the need to give a twist to her musical career and, with an average of 20 songs in demo version already, decides to take a break in summer 2018 and see how to produce and release the songs in a pop format. In September 2018, she meets with Sxmuel (Samuel Montoya) and together they make a work plan for the production of three musical themes, all written and with basic arrangement by Tunde herself. Tunde resumes her commitments as a classical musician in November on a tour through

Europe and another tour through Asia in December 2018 with the idea that on her return, she will go to the recording studio to record the vocals for her first three singles: ‘Everlasting Love’, the main theme of the project, ‘Almost Midnight’, a theme that continues the concept with pop sound and urban elements established already in Everlasting Love, and a third single called ‘Take me Out’ with which Sxmuel as producer decides to take Tunde out of her comfort zone of European Pop and experiment with 808 sounds typical for trap, a catchy beat typical for the Caribbean (Dancehall), which Sxmuel is very familiar with. In January 2019, the vocals are recorded in the Plattenwerk

studio in Vienna, Austria. In the following, the beats are defined and final instrumentals are elaborated by beatmakers from different places in the world, which adds a global touch and sound to the themes. February is the post-production phase for the songs and a date and launch of the project is set for March 28th, 2019. Tunde, originally from Slovakia with Hungarian roots, a classical music artist who has

in only one year achieved the transition to be a singer of Pop music and now goes on to conquer the public, radio, and stages We had the release of my debut EP 2 weeks ago and since then we are busy preparing new music. I know my name means "return" in Nigeria. My name "Tunde" is a typical hungarian name and means "fairy". My heart goes out to the

people affected by Cyclone Idai. I can’t imagine the disaster of loosing loved ones and having to start again from point zero. But I know that in all that calamity, God is still there to take us through to the other side and to comfort us. I will keep the people affected by the cyclone Idai in my prayers. My next single "Feel No Pain" talks about that. Calamity overtaking us, yet we feel no pain.

LIGHTER THAN USUAL? ANASHE CONQUERS THE WORLD, ALBINISM OR NOT Anashe Blessing Murombedzi born on the 17th of January 1999. She is best described as someone who is friendly, eloquent, sociable and like to have fun. She has a team spirit. Anashe is doing journalism and media studies at Ranche house college. She is a second time award winning child journalist (2013-2015)

‘ I developed a zeal and passion in journalism since childhood. I remember doing some games when I was young doing news anchoring and moving around with a remote as my microphone that my dad ended up buying me one Due to the discrimination and isolatation of people with albi-

nism and also talking from experience inspired me to advocate and speak to abolish the negative attitudes people in the society have towards people with albinism. I then began to write articles and short stories of how I face such challenges and how I overcomed them by first accepting

what I am and be proud of myself and also recognize my ability and potential to show it to the world. One day my parents read one of my interesting articles and my mom knew a platform to publish it, She then helped me reach to the Sunday Mail bridge the kid's corner for young talented people to showcase their capabilities and I met the editor and showed him my work. I never stopped writing more articles and

publishing them and I won two awards, one in 2013-2014 as a child reporter of the year and the other one in 2014-2015 as the child journalist reporting on children issues all sponsored by UNICEF and Zimbabwe Union of Journalists. Today I'm studying journalism and media studies at Ranche House college doing my second year

Beauty beyond the skin Anashe Murombedzi People With Albinism (PWAs) are being victimized by people who hold false myths and beliefs in some African countries. According to a United Nations report (UN) more than 600 PWAs have been attacked in the Sub-Sahara region. Myths that having sex with PWAs cures HIV/AIDS or enhances one’s fortunes. Some believe that PWAs have magical powers that can be used for rituals. Some believe it is a curse or punishment to both parents by their ancestors and some say PWAs don’t die they just vanish. Although these superstitious beliefs by society’s monsters who are murderers and rapists it appears the sentences for those arrested are not deterrent enough. In Malawi PWAs live in fear and they seek asylum but their muffed voices are never heard. As PWAs in Zimbabwe we are concerned with the plight of our brethren. We have to stand as one Africa. Albinism is a genetic condition that lacks melanin pigmentation when one is born. It is inherited in a recessive pattern from both parents who have the gene which automatically bears a child with Albinism. Albinism is found also in animals and plants. With the holding of the 2nd Miss Albinism Zim beauty pageant set for 24 May in Harare, we seek to raise awareness, ad-

vocate for peace and the recognition of our rights. This platform will showcase our abilities which are not different from everyone else. Our active voices shall forever rise with the theme “Beauty beyond the skin” will reach the global village. We are not lesser human beings. We are proud of ourselves.

However, PWAs have no magical powers to satisfy other people’s needs, we do not cure AIDS, we’re not cursed, Albinism is not contagious. We are normal humans beings just like you. We were all created in the image of God and sisimi sawa in Swahili we are the same.

I'm careful and in the same breath careless An organised chaos Broken in wholeness Ugly in a beautiful way Straight in a twisted manner I fight in peace Am loud in my silence A calm storm I give nothing but my best Or I keep all to myself I am an indifferent obsessive Madly sane A reclusive extrovert You see I can be who I am Because of What you eject out of me

Life is a piece of Cake

and she has the secret ingredients I started baking at home when I was very young, I was around ten years old. Baking was my passion and I always enjoyed doing so. My sister later turned it into a business and seeing her growing big, having customers who would really appreciated the work, fascinated me and inspired me.

on their birthdays, to see a smile on someone’s face because of the cake was the best feeling i had and I kept on baking. In 2014 I went into the baking business. At first I was scared thinking where would I get customers, would people have confidence in my work but with time the confidence grew.

I started to bake cakes on a larger scale, unlike just baking at home some muffins, cupcakes, etc. I started to bake cakes and decorate them usually for my friends

I could safely charge a cake and not regret my price list because I was confident about the product I was giving on the market. A cake is something which

should be the centre of attraction at any event. A cake should give the ‘wow’ expression to anyone walks in and see it. As much as a cake should be amazing on the outside and every detail and decoration on point but the inner part is the one that matters. It’s the real cake that is supposed to be delicious and if the inner cake is fresh and tasty it will always bring customers. There are several types of cakes and each category suits its own event. For example a fruit cake is mainly suitable for weddings, spongy cakes for parties and cupcakes for dessert tables. The cake business can become so difficult in times of economic crisis. However in Zimbabwe

Whenever I get an order I work on it to perfection from the inside to every detail on the outside so that the client may come back again and also may refer others. This has helped so much and I am seeing the business growing despite the economic crisis because people are appreciating my work daily.

Through technology we are becoming one family in the industry. Also social media has made the work of advertising and publishing the cakes very easy, people can just visit my page, see my work and appreciate it then get in touch and I have been getting so many clients through this. The events industry is growing stronger everyday and more effective to many people around the world through technology.

Social media has also become a powerful tool of advertising my work. Technology has helped so much in the cake industry in terms of learning new skills, discussing issues concerning baking with other bakers who may be in faraway places.

To view some of my work people can visit my facebook page and instagram account. They can make bookings there and send through all their thoughts. Follow me on Facebook today and book yourself a cake your will never forget.

I have managed to conquer this through upgrading my work.
