Conference 2018

We are so glad you are here to learn, grow and start the conversation with us! Pat yourselves on the back, you’ve made the first step, the hardest step—getting here. Today is full of activities and talks you both can participate in together, alongside breakout sessions catered toward the girls themselves and others for the parents/guardians. All of the talks and activities are designed for everyone to speak freely. Today you are all in a safe space and on the same level. Please respect everyone’s own opinions and don’t hesitate in sharing yours. Remember, we all grow from sharing with one another and what a great example to show our girls!

Alisa Vitti As a women’s horomone expert, Alisa has spent the past 15 years studying, researching, personally applying, and globally teaching how to stop hormonal chaos and get into hormonal flow. She built FLO Living as a virtual online health center to help women solve their hormonal symptoms from anywhere in the world.

Alexis Jones Alexis Jones is the thought leader for the 21st century women’s movement, an internationally recognized speaker, author, media personality and activist. Nadya Okamoto Nadya is a co-founder of PERIOD as high school student in 2014 after realizing that menstrual products are not reliably available to those who need them the most. PERIOD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. They believe the change starts with changing the way we talk about periods. We elevate the issue to eliminate the taboo through a growing network of high school, college and community chapters.

Jordana Kier & Alex Friedman LOLA is a new feminine care brand offering 100% cotton tampons in BPA-free plastic applicators via a subscription service. Products are sourced through Europe, packaged in the U.S. and sold direct-to-consumer on mylola.com. LOLA is for women of all ages who care about what’s in their products and want a natural and convenient alternative to traditional big-box feminine care brands.

Monica Castillo Monica is a contract writer for The Lily based in New York City where her focus is on women’s health. PARENTS SESSION 1 | The Talk One of the hardest talks you will ever have with your daughter. Here we will share our experiences and offer suggestions on how to talk to her in a way that shows you support her. Further, you will learn the importance of talking to her and with others from Alexis Jones of I Am That Girl.

SESSION 2 | The 411 on Feminine Products You might know what a tampon is, or you might not. No worries, you will walk out of this session fully prepared for any questions your her might have for you. Get ready to take notes for this informative session hosted by Alex Friedman of LOLA.

SESSION 3 | An Open Discussion, Parents Edition Just the adults here! After a day full of learning new tips and tricks on how to support your her, take this time to discuss anything you might still have questions about, and make connections with the other parents/guardians with Monica Castillo of The Lily. Remember, you are not alone! Use each other as a support system to keep the conversation continuing after today.

HER SESSION 1 | What is Menstruation? This class goes a little deeper into the science side of how menstruation works (broken down into easily understandable chunks). How do the horomones work? What can you do to make your period easier for your body? All this and more will be answered by Alisa Vitti, the mother of the flow!

SESSION 2 | Feminine Hygiene, 101 What’s a tampon? Diva cup? Where does that go? All of your questions asked and answered in this session. We will cover the basics of feminine products, how each works and take the “unknown” and “embarassment” out of the conversation. Jordana Kier of LOLA is here to answer and educate.

SESSION 3 | An Open Discussion, Her Addition No parents. No judgements. Just you and Alexis Jones of I Am That Girl. After a day full of education, now is your time to discuss what you learned, ask any questions you still have, and bond with the other girls who are in the same position as you.
