…………………………………………………………….. JOINING THE FAMILY FOR DEMOCRACY, PEACE AND STABILITY The collapse of Soviet Union set a big dilemma for many countries. Towards the West lies the united Europe, the EU, all the way to Portugal while towards the East exists Russia all the way to the Pacific. The people in the Soviet lands lived together for almost 70 years. Even before the Union, Caucasus and Eastern Europe were under Russian influence. Six years ago the EU started an initiative which might change the future of Eastern Europe and Caucasus. The success of the Eastern Partnership initiative depends heavily on the people living in member states. The toughest task for EU would be convincing the people to recognise the ever-increasing benefits of the polish-swedish initiative, as they face the failed outcome in Ukraine The Eastern Partnership Initiative is one of the toughest challenges European Union set out in its 57 years of history. Not only for EU, but also for the other parties, the postSoviet states of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It is a long and tough road to take. After all, the members have to come up with a decision, whether to remain under the russian influence or join the family of Europe. As Europe seeks to improve its relationship with its eastern borders, it enters Russia’s zone of influence. The pressure of Russia on post-Soviet states has showed itself in Georgia back in 2008 and recently in Crimea and Ukraine.“Is this promoting democracy or is it blackmail? It's about pulling countries from the positions they want to take as sovereign states”states Russian foreign minister Lavrov criticizing the initiative.

Efe Ünlüoğlu

In contrary to Lavrov’s statement the Eastern Partnership initiative helps EaP countries develop themselves in specific areas, namely: International trade, energy and democracy. For instance ‘’ the overall trade figures for 2014 are very positive for imports from Moldova, which increased by 20% on the year -on-year basis’’ . Besides the above-saod, Georgian exports to EU rose by almost 12% while the import from EU remained stable. After all the future of initiative lies on the reaction and choice of people in Caucasus and Eastern Europe. The Euromaidan protest in Ukraine and the support to the initiative in Georgia and Moldova showed that some EaP countries prefer to live under the roof of Europe. "This is a step closer to a family, there is no way back.” stated Georgian President Saakashvili. Recent events, however.have made it very clear that in some countries the support for EU does not seem to increase whatsoever. For instance, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev did not attend the last summit in Riga because of the accusations of human right infringements in Azerbaijan. Similarily, Armenia and Belarus are still leaning towards Russia. The lack of motivation and roadmap in these countries is what EU is now facing. It will be our delegates job to come up with ideas and solutions to solve these problems to create a better future for EaP countries and the EU itself.

Beating the procrastination? Of course, not. Procrastination is the preference of doing pleasurable things instead Ece Çakır of the crucial ones. Nowadays, it is one of the most contagious diseases in our teenage world spreading day by day. Numerous amounts of Youngsters have been facing the effects of this excessively dangerous disease. Why do procrastinators procrastinate? First but the hardest question that needs to be answered. There is no direct answer to this for sure.. First on a non-procrastinator, a rational decision-maker with a good grip of time management skills. This type of person calls upon the important aspects and refferes to statements like ‘’I think long-term.I am not a child.’’ In contrast to such person, there is no such mechanism in a procrastinator’s mind, instead it feels as if there’s some sloth monster that blokes their decision making process. The fact is, that one should not let anything blur their mind especially when attempting to focus on highly important subjects.Ignoring the lessons from the past and disregarding the future altogether might be the warning signs for you to know that your inner monster’s on its job. That creature concerns himself entirely with maximizing the ease and pleasure of the current moment. It does not comprehend what humans use a computer for work, benefit from the internet only for the sake of a research. From its perspective, humans are insane, therefore it reaches to the roots of sceptisizm and conflicts. Procrastinators are much too often faced with the consequences. They ultimately end up underachieving and failing to fulfill their potential. They gradually fill up with regret and self-loathing. The list of the things to do start to increase at an incredibly high rate while the” have-dones” come in small amounts. Correspondingly, want-to-dos never occur whatsoever since the procrastinator loses him/her faith in accomplishing the task and deviates from it. The only direct advice is to avoid procrastination. One may doubt if it’s that simple, but in truth.yes,it very truly is. Do not let your inner the monster come to life. Since once it is alive, it will hardly ever leave. If you are capable of preparing yourself for the 5 work, everything is going to work!

THINKING OUT LOUD How is “responsibility” associated with achieving dreams. Is it one’s responsibility to give their 100% to chasing their dreams? Responsibility may not be just a force that binds you to the actions you are expected to take. It carries a huge meaning for some and it’s not an easy task to find a singular explanation for the phenomenon. Maybe duty, commitment, obligation, owe or all of the above define the meaning of responsibility. From my perspective it serves as a feeling, which lives deep inside you, an inner voice that enables and boosts your enthusiasm of hard work. But sometimes frustrates us the same way it deters us from accomplishing the tasks on time. They say no pain no gain. So are we courageous enough to imprint our name on the world and leave our footprints behind. Perhaps we don’t have to follow the rules all the time. Because in order to achieve your goals , it might be necessary to take perfect form individually for maximum efficiency and effectiveness for your journey. Each one of us is given the opportunity to take their own path. The important thing is to use wisely. And there’s the sense of responsibility, that grows as we become older. We gain some new skills from every different situation and discover some unknown parts of our character. I believe that life becomes our best teacher and various experiences have influence on formation of our individuality. When we overcome some difficulties we realize how strong we are. We gain self-confidence and courage to be responsible, be responsible to care and take important steps forward.

Mariam Margiani Taking into account the example of our young delegates we can get a clear idea of our generations’ attitude towards creativity, passions and dreams. Do we remain the “Peter Pan Generation”, refusing to step into adulthood, rejecting responsibilities or do we present the kind of generation whose actions speak louder than the words? The answer could be easily found just after a gaze at young ambitious participants. "Follow your dreams", these words are simple and yet touching. They truly awaken strong emotions in me. They make me want to take a look in the mirror and think about the person staring back at me. Is it the one pursuing her dreams and ambitions, is it the one who can act no matter what and is it the one who is strong enough to rely on?! The motto challenges me, personally, to feel and act powerful. After all, what could be better than realizing that the ones surrounding you see you as a compassionate, strong, enthusiastic person. Whatever choice you make, the possibilities are open and you are the only ones responsible for your own happiness.

A minute Tamuna Chipashvili

A satiric song of a scared heart… 21st century – considered as the era of solidarity- promises us a high level of human rights protection reinforced by many stakeholders and globally expressed awareness into the civil society. However, current reality vividly probes humanity to the violation of one of its most crucial fundamental principle – the right to live. Despite the existence of various international and local organisations and legal bodies that are responsible for securing people’s lives, unfortunately, innocent people are still being tortured and killed by extremists who express the evident lack of social understanding , creating a background of various tragedies which are still occurring daily in this day and age. Imagine yourself in an occupied university, where Islamic terrorists are roving from dorm to dorm, separating students by religion and killing the ones who do not fit in their “standards”. Imagine yourself in the place, where students are awakened before dawn by the sound of gunfire as masked attackers close in. Imagine that you are clinging to life by hiding in the closet for two days and, unable to get water, hydrating yourself by drinking a body lotion. Imagine, seeing your friends trying to survive by getting under their beds until the terrorists find them. I understand how readers might feel having read the above-said,I’d understand if the readers’ hearts smashed into smithereens realizing that such sadistic events still occur in our era of solidarity. The struggle is real. That is what happened to the 19 years old girl, a typical student from Garissa University College, located in Kenya.

of silence Instead of seeing the world as the kingdom of unicorns, like her peers do, she involuntarily became a victim of harsh violation and suffered an emotional tragedy caused by one of the world’s most powerful terrorist organisations, Islamic states, attacking on April 2, 2015. She is not the only victim of the series of sadistic actions lead by extremists called as terrorists. Although statistically, most of the terroristic attacks occur in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature, terrorism has its roots into a deep past . Since the very first terroristic occurrence, unbelievably huge amount of innocent lives have been sacrificed to their ideology Refusing to define themselves as evil, terrorists believe that they are legitimate combatants, fighting for what they believe in, by whatever means possible to attain their goals as follows - “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”. The sick attitude of theirs leads them to heartless attacks, seeking to foster a “Robin Hood” image in hope of swaying the general public point of view toward their cause. This sympathetic view of terrorism has become an integral part of their psychological warfare. As extremists tend to attack unexpectedly, it’s tough to take preventive actions in advance but it’s worth mentioning that governing bodies and international organisations that are responsible for peace and security still remain inactive position towards powerful aggressive actions and threats coming from the terrorists. It’s vital for all of us to realize that terrorism may only be interpreted as direct violation and infringement of basic human rights and requires a gigantic amount of international involvement, as well as the promotion of intercultural social relations between countries worldwide. Let us all dedicate a minute of silence to all of the innocent people, who were sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, friends and fellow members of the society, who dreamt of a better life just like you and I. Alter the saying. One man’s terrorist is never another’s freedom fighter.

Could you be an Iron Man?

world you see. Well said, right? Oh and by the way, do you remember when you saw how tony stark was manipulating 3D holograms while working on his inventions? Have you ever wanted to live in the same kind of world where technological development could work wonders? Well, here is the biggest surprise of all time: Microsoft unveiled something that will essentially enable us to use the same kind of technology that Iron Man uses in one of those movies. The company introduced the Microsoft HoloLens as the first see-through holographic computer. The product enables high definition holograms to come into your life, integrating with your physical places, spaces and all sorts of stuff. The experience is more commonly known as mixed reality. Holograms mixed with the reality will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work and play. In truth, Windows 10 is not the only thing they’re debuting right now. This see-through headset, allowing you to see digital holograms, to interact with your physical environment in an absolutely breathtaking way seems to be a wonder even for our technological era. Speaking of, a hologram is an object just like any other, with just a single difference. Instead of being made of physical matter, a hologram is made entirely of light. Holographic objects can be viewed from different angels and distances, but they do not offer any physical resistance while being touched or pushed , because they don’t have any amount of mass. Hologram can either be two or three dimensional. The holograms we see with Microsoft HoloLens can appear life-like and can move, possess shape and change it, in accordance with the users and the physical environment in which they are visible. This is not a screen to touch or a mouse to click. Use gestures to create, shape and size the holograms.

……………………………………………… Use your gaze to navigate and explore.Use your voice to communicate with your apps. Microsoft HoloLens understands your movements, voice and gaze, enabling you to interact with content and information “naturally”.

“Computing has over the years gone from Keyboard and mouse to multitouch gestures on touchscreen devices. The next phase coming to computer devices could be holographic interaction,"-Microsoft voiced. What all of these mean, in a nutshell, is that Microsoft is technically making our dreams come true and gift us the magic “superpowers” we’ve always wished for. Wanted to be a superhero? There you go.

GEORGIAN SUMMER GEM Have you ever asked yourself what the intriguing name GemFest stand for? Well, we definitely have some exciting and important news in store for you.

Giorgi Tsotsoria

GemFest stands for Georgian Electronic Music Festival and there are three main things you need to know about it: it has altered into an annual event, it’s has gone international and it already is a trademark event of Georgia. GemFest took place for the first time this year in Anaklia, Georgia from July 30 to August 7.

The organizers of event made an announcement on informal occasions that their primary goal was to hold a very lively, diverse, vast and a stock-jobbing musical event that would spark a considerable global response. And we must admit that GemFest exceeded expectations of any electronic music critic or fan.

Among sufficiently long list of DJ’s were world wide prominent Electronic music Gurus such as: Armin Van Buuren, Booka Shade, David August, Who Made Who, W&W and Dubfire. One must be definitely admitted that, that GemFest has sparked a development of electronic music in Georgia and even in neighboring countries, taking the electronic music in Georgia to a whole new, exciting level. In conclusion, we must mention a breathtaking announcement, voiced by the “headquarters” of GemFest after the event, that despite serious political obstacles, the following GemFestival will take place in one of the oldest and heavenly beautiful coastline city of Georgia Gagra, that was occupied by Russian Federation during 1992-1993 years. The only thing left is to wish the very best of luck to the organizing committee, by expressing our strongest support towards this wonderful and truly innovative event.

The year of 2015. The Net generation. Obtaining information has never been easier.. News all over televisions, newspapers, social media, affecting each and every one of us on a daily basis, every minute of every hour. Media has a lion’s share in our lives. What we know today may not be true tomorrow. But with great power comes great responsibility (yes you’ve heard that line before). Reaching to thousands or even millions, brings you a responsibility that you have to carry while doing this job. There are many things happening in the world that we don’t see or hear but learn from the media. So we have to balance the conveyed in our heads and then decide whether to believe it or not. Problem is, that sometimes we can’t balance it. In some cases we accept it without checking facts. Thereby, media has this huge influence to masses and that is the reason why it holds such a huge responsibility. The basic rule of democracy is the division of powers. By dividing legislative, executive and juridical, one can establish a proper state that runs by rules. The fourth power is media. In many countries, Turkey for instance, you may find some broadcasting companies expressing undercover support for the government and some for the opposing countries. Since the media has the power to influence people it can form your political thinking. Many Political parties rise to power with the help of media. It is difficult to even name a TV channel or a national newspaper which only focuses on portraying both parties objectively. The only plausible explanation is money and finances. Being unbiased and objective, the constant documenting of truth does not bring money. It’s getting harder and harder to find out the truth. These ‘’sided’’ channels and newspapers only polarize people since they are busy criticizing one other. With the TV channels lacking an unbiased sense of objectivity, the society faces rather tough obstacles trying to differentiate the truth from the false. Moreover, the mainstream media has the ability to determine the worlds agenda. With this on their hands, they can hide mich bigger problems and lead people to focus to other, trivial things. It is also intrusion to objectivity of media because in a way what needed to be conveyed will not be conveyed properly. It is clear thaonmedia as an inexplicably huge influence in our lives. Its complexity is already a big thing by itself alone. If the governing bodies try to adjust the ideas in articles and news the complexity will grow even more. Press and media freedom should be a core rule for many countries but does it have a limitation ? If so who is defining this line between freedom and corrupting the news ?

Which mobile

Application are you? Mariam Margiani & Nako Edisherashvili

We are entering a brand new era of socialising. Establishing new relations has never been easier. However, with millions of communication opportunities at our fingertips, human interaction have visibly deteriorated. Society became seemingly introverted, glued to the phone screen. Kids growing up wired, unable to strike the balance when it comes to putting the phone aside to take a broader look at the outdoor world. Putting a cellphone away seems way too difficult to handle. Gigantic phone companies dominating the world have got us mesmerized, more precisely, hypnotized ,offering us incredible design, jaw-dropping innovations and vastly entertaining applications. Celebrating the technological advances, the society fails to contemplate how technology, in this very case, phones, is effecting humanity in some of the worst ways possible. Flat batteries just like no wireless connection areas are nowadays deemed as the worst scenario one can encounter in their daily lives. The urge and incessant need to be online 24/7 and the necessity to check social network websites once in every minute not only poses an undeniable threat to our health but decays the human relationships as well. Scrolling the newsfeed and tweeting have replaced heartfelt talks and delightful chatters.

Just like the majority of youngsters round the glove, delegated and officials of Kutaisi’15 admitted their addiction to various social networks, from the beloved facebook all the way to Pinterest, even identifying themselves as some of the most well-known and commonly used applications. For instance, Organisers felt that the resemblance between them and the “clean master” and the google search engine was striking. You may wonder why? Well, remember how they all go round reminding everyone to “CLEAN after themselves” and tolerating us asking them some of the lamest questions about the food, the weather, the… well, probably everything, with wi-fi passcode topping all. The president and the two VPs however are suspiciously similar to the google maps, guiding us all the way through the session, leading the team and probing us all in the right directions.

#Fact On behalf of the media team, I would like to tell you that we are the blend of two of my favorite applications- Pinterest as a collection of an incredible memories captured by journos plus Goodreads that unites thousands of fictional characters, hundreds of stories I would doubtlessly recommend you to read. The delegates however expressed mixed ideas about their favorite applications. You can find some below:

#AFFETers ( II ) think that they resemble soundcloud. With lively debates and with the delegates speaking volumes, the committee work somehow seems like a thrilling song.

#AFFETers (I) can get on with each other perfectly so they see themselves as the “ Contacts” application. Committee members can easily communicate with one another and be as productive and useful as the app itself.

#LIBE- delegates from LIBE are open to discussions that are inexplicably unnecessary, so it is not surprising that delegates compare themselves to Facebook;

#AFCO - this committee is definitely one of the most multitasking committee I have ever been in. The committee members have absolutely different interests, goals, passions in life but the unification of those talented delegates encourages me to call them an APP store as you can find all kind of Apps in one space.

#ECON -As they are going to work on topic related to economic crises, counting outcomes and possible incomes after figuring out the most appropriate solution for each problem, they regard themselves as one of the most useful and definitely crucial applications for ECONers – Calculator.

#ITRE thinks that a good sense of humor of the delegates as well as the problem solving skills with some fun stuff will guide them to representing their resolution at the GA perfectly well. So they compare the committee to the one and only - 9GAG.

#EMPL: The members of EMPL told me that the committee differs from the others in that it is aware of the facts that remain hidden to their fellow committees. Which else would they be but the “8facts”.

National Committee Chronicles

Time passes. Different things become acceptable. People come and go, but some of them leave their own footprints on our hearts. No one can banish them as we are not the same again. They create the history, history that guides us to the mindful revolution. EYP is not exception. Georgian EYPology has been creating its own biography for seven years. Different people have been putting their hearts and souls to keep it forever

imprinted on our minds for days to remember. The board of the EYP changes every year generations are trading their authorities to one another. The board of the organization in 2014-2015 years was striving for perfection, so was the outcome proved wondrous. EYP Georgia successfully managed to organize result: more than amazing international forum, school session, university session, three regional selections, the NSC,with the very first Georgian chairing at the IS- Mr. Koka Kapanadze, the very first female from Georgia as an official of the IS-Miss Veriko Devidze. The year that fills me with inexplicable pride-er. After spending a very remarkable and productive year, the youngsters who were applying for different positions, would like to take the lead and decided to challenge themselves through becoming the national committee members of the EYP Georgia. Meet the ones: Mr. Irakli Kikoria, Ms. Anna Roinishvili, Mr. Luka Lomtadze, Ms, Sophie Tsertsvadze, Ms. Elene Minashvili, Mr. Amil Karaev, Ms. Natia Jokhadze, Ms. Elene Gedevanishvili, Mr.Iovan Kurua, Ms. Elene Ambidze, Ms. Anna Iosebidze, Mr. Sandro Beraia, Ms. Tamta Tsveraidze. All of those people are going to do their best to create an unforgettable year for the whole EYP Georgia. The national committee is going to be led by a newly elected president Ms. Mariam Demetrashvili. Mariam is actively involved in EYP since 2013 , became the member of the National Committee a year ago. NC members decided that her contribution towards the organization as well as the motivation was more than enough for her to accept such a challenge and take up a ginormous responsibility. To quote : “rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it”; she assures us that her team will work like ‘Ocean’s eleven’ team of professionals from different spheres of interest will work together to achieve a common goal. EYP Georgia is turning over a new leaf. The Newly elected board will do its best this year to be one of the most fruitful ones. Generally speaking, in the governing bodies are changing delegates’ and officials’ lives. They inspire us. They become our role models, whilst teaching us how to recreate an ordinary moment into an unforgettable experience. They stay awake for weeks to figure out how to leave a sparkle wherever they go. Dearest BNC , NC members and Miss president, I sincerely hope that you will follow into the steps that makes every EYPer proud of being amongst the figures of history recorded by the team, that was led by Mr. Koka Kapanadze. But first though, Koka, thank you for being an irreplaceable one!

WHO RUN THE WORLD? -GIRLS! ‘’Women know less about politics than men worldwide.’’ ‘’Women are basically unable to comment on politics or the current crisis taking place in the world.’’ How often have you heard someone shouting out these kind of sentences? The answer is pretty often. Unfortunately, these are the statements we have been hearing from all over the world. As a matter of fact, a lot of people assume that women don’t have the courage or the knowledge to voice their opinion on politics. It is also possible that women give others the impression that they are incompetent of getting into politics. But which prospect appears to be the one closest to truth? Where do people obtain this extremely biased opinion from? Are women indolent? Are they inadequate? If you are still looking for an answer for the question above I can give you a hint and might suggest you took a closer look? EYP is an excellent example to prove the fact that a female contribution is more than essential to any social field. Both of the head organisers are girls, along with the editor and the editorial assistant. Correspondingly, both of the vice presidents are girls. Moreover, both the media and organising teams mostly contain girls. These statistics deplore the idea stating that girls are not good enough to run an event. Affirming the obvious fact that boys are getting along well with almost everything, it is our duty to enhance the place of women both in the parliamentary and daily life. Thereby, it is prominent to state that women can accomplish the given tasks the exact same way men can.

Ece Çakır Gender-based discriminations is the barrier that deters girls from obtaining the desired positions at a labour market. Young female employees are still being victimized and the notorious GPG, the gender pay gap is still in existence. Luckily for us, however, the last year’s elections clearly demonstrated that the participation of women in the parliament has been escalating day by day. I decided to ask a few questions regarding the above-said issue to the officials of the session and the president of EYP Georgia. Mariam Demetrashvili/ President of EYP Georgia “European Union has done a great deal over the past couple of years to promote gender equality. As numbers of women in European Parliament have been speaking volumes recently it would be fair to state, that European Institutions have set an example, where parity and equality are concerned. As Parliament has stressed firm commitment by all political parties on European, national and regional levels is essential to pave the measures encouraging women to broaden their perspective and display their full potential. The increased number of women in European Parliament could be described as a milestone from the point of view of breaking through the "glass ceiling", which is still preventing women from full social and political involvement.”

Patrick Bruschek/ President of the Session “I think it is very important step that number of women in the European Parliament constantly increases. Especially in democracy it should not be the case that only men decide what is going to happen with women are just part of the population. I’m not really sure about the percentage but in some of the countries, women are just a way ahead of the men regarding the representation by seats. It is really important for any democracy to have every part of the population presented that’s why the increase in the percentage of seats allocated for women is important. That also adds lots to the richness of the debate and the women can also push their needs and ideas themselves.” Olcay Soyalan/ Vice President of the Session “It is not enough but it is a beginning. Just to start with a very basic thing, the democracy only works with voters’ participation in the decision-making process. If we logically assume that half of the population is made of females and the other half is made of males then that it is the way how the representative body should look. Until the established equal representation is implemented in the process there is still a way to go in protecting human rights and empowering women. I think the main issue lies in the way that our society races girls and the media presents women and girls, and authority figures. Since women are not really represented in the media as people who would be on top of everything, who would be president or present in the parliament. Because of this, young girls have little to know role models to look up to and try to become like them. From the saying, ‘’You cannot be what you cannot see.’’, it can be comprehended that the problem is very much about the representation of people who are the authortiy figures. The increase of women in the parliament is super pleasing but we still have a long way to go if we want it to be sustainable and to reach our goal in equal representation.”

…………………………………………………………….. MEDICINE BEYOND THE ROMANCE SO HOW AND WHY WE ACTUALLY FALL IN LOVE

Keti Pkhaladze

There comes a day when we lose the hold of ourselves and naturally start to drift off to the daydreaming, become more sensitive, romantic, severely attentive to someone. That day is when we realize we’ve fallen in love. Sweaty palms, shaky knees, flushed cheeks, and tongue-tied speech, are some ways love affects our body. While these signs are apparent to the naked eye, little is known about what happens to the brain when we fall in love. Falling in love causes our body to release a flood of feel-good chemicals that trigger specific physical reactions. This internal elixir of love is responsible for making our cheeks flush, our palms sweat and our hearts race. Would you ever in your life imagine that chemical reaction and hormonal explosion are the things you can call love and romance? Levels of these substances, which include dopamine, adrenaline and norepinephrine, increase when two people fall in love. Dopamine creates feelings of euphoria while adrenaline and norepinephrine are responsible for the pitter-patter of the heart, restlessness and overall preoccupation that go along with experiencing love. MRI scans indicate that love lights up the pleasure center of the brain. When we fall in love, blood flow increases in this area, which is the same part of the brain implicated in obsessive-compulsive behaviors.

We fall in love in three stages. Each involving a different set of chemicals. Stage 1: Lust Lust is driven by the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen . Testosterone is not confined only to men . It has also been shown to play a major role in the sex drive of women . Stage 2: Attraction This is the truly love-struck phase . When people fall in love they can think of nothing else . They might even lose their appetite and require less sleep, preferring to spend hours daydreaming about their new lover. In the attraction stage , a group of neuro-transmitters called 'monoamines' play an important role: •Dopamine - Also activated by cocaine and nicotine . •Norepinephrine - Otherwise known as adrenalin . Starts us sweating and gets the heart racing. •Serotonin - One of love's most important chemicals and one that may actually send us temporarily insane . Stage 3: Attachment Attachment is a longer lasting commitment and is the bond that keeps couples together. Important in this stage are two hormones released by the nervous system: •Oxytocin - This is released by the hypothalamus gland . It is also released by both sexes is thought that it promotes bonding when adults are intimate . •Vasopressin - Another important chemical in the long-term commitment stage .

20

…………………………………………………………….. Those who excite romantic feelings in us are more likely to cause an increase in the release of oxytocin, which leads to an increase in dopamine, and makes them someone we want to spend time with. Romantic relationships can lead to the addiction of a specific person such as being obsessed with thinking of that person all the time. These behaviors are thought to reflect those of someone who is addicted to a drug. The same brain chemicals — large amounts of dopamine and Norepinephrine — and the same brain pathways and structures are active when in love, and when being high on crack cocaine. Therefore, this leads to the belief that addictive drugs affect the brain in ways similar to love, which can help explain the painful, withdrawal-like symptoms of a breakup. You see, one doesn’t simply loves and misses another. It’s more complex than you thought it to be. Have you ever heard the phrase that love is blind? Maybe it is. Or more precisely, we are not always capable of controling our physiology. When we are attracted to somebody, it could be because subconsciously we like their genes. Events occurring in the brain when we are in love have similarities with mental illnessresearchers say.

So let’s get mentally ill and let the love be our only dose of cocaine.
