The Cat Street Gallery and The Space are two galleries that owned by Mandy d’Abo. Located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, they are committed to exhibiting the best of international contemporary and modern art by both established and emerging artists by holding different shows and exhibitions frequently. This project is to help the client to design the key visuals of different shows throughout the year.

The key visual of each shows consist of a main logo mark. It is usually a typeface. The characteristics of the specific artists have to be represented in the logo mark. A main image of the artist’s artwork will be used in different media in the whole promotion materials such as e-invitations, print invitation cards, print ads, price lists and book covers.
PETER BLAKE: NEW TERRITORY Visual Design Exhibition visual design Venue design
Peter Blake: New Territory is the first show in Asia for the Godfather of British Pop Art’ Sir Peter Blake. The exhibition held in the space of The Cats Street Gallery and also in the ART HK 11 during May and June 2011. I was responsible for designing print advertisements, sets of e-invitations and the venue set up.

Venue design—stickers and caption boards Sticker design for the front door and the 1/F window for recognition usage. And the sticker design of the curve wall inside the gallery is the key description panel about the exhibition. The union jack pattern links them together. Caption boards has to be visually unite with the identity of the gallery.
Print advertisements include financial times and timeout magazine full page ads. And these are the overview of the sticker design in the actual venue. The gallery consists of two levels and there are three places for decorations: front facade, curved wall and middle window in 1/F.
MICHAEL YOUNG: WORKS IN CHINA Visual Design Exhibition visual design Venue design
Michael Young works in China: Part 1 Design Art is an exhibition that held at the space gallery in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. I designed a foil stamp like title for the show and created print and e-invitations. For the venue, the clients tends to have simple setting. So only a big title on the main description wall.

JOSHUA YELDHAM: TWO RIVERS Visual Design Exhibition visual design Venue design
Born in Sydney, Australian artist Joshua Yeldham is inspired by a deef spiritual affinity for the natural landscape and its myths. His works are signatured by a line of short wooden sticks drilled onto the paintings. The output of the show includes print invitation cards, print advertisements, web button, eDM visual, e-invitations and venue stickers.

Clinton Nain exposes the vicious crimes against traditional landowners of the country by European settlers, tackling these difficult subjects with a sophisticated wit and injecting a seemingly absurd humour. His works are very emotional and expressive in style. The output of the show includes print invitation cards, e-invitations and venue stickers.

Postcards from Vegas, the second exhibition at the gallery for the London based artistic duo Rob and Nick Carter. The Space will be transformed by their latest series of vibrant artworks which marry vintage postcards and intriguing neon signs. The venue decoration includes stickers at the front door facade, the curve wall and side wall in the ground floor; and the windows in the first floor. They are designed to be in black background to match the neon lights that emit from the exhibits.
TIM SUMMERTON: FLOATING FOREST Visual Design Exhibition visual design Venue design
Tim Summerton has been drawing inspiration from the Australian landscape for over a decade in his soulful abstract paintings. His works with a wet on wet oil application process, manipulating the slow drying effect of the medium to great effect in his layered canvasses. The output of the show includes print invitation cards, e-invitations and venue stickers.

He deftly navigates an accomplished old master technique with contemporary materials and innovative spatial techniques, deconstructing the notion of the Baroque original and modernising it.
