Hello November
HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT?
Talking about it won’t change anything. Action does and it has to be persistent. Want to lose weight? Start exercising. I didn’t see results for FOUR months but I kept at it everyday and now it’s become a habit. Make time in your day to make a small change. And do it every day, or on the same day of the week every day. And it will become a habit. Want more success in work? Then put in the effort. Contact the people you want to work with. Show up at networking events. Reply to emails within 2 hours. Don’t be a slacker. Don’t clock watch. Write down realistic goals for the week, never mind the year or a 5 year plan. They will take care of themselves if you make the daily effort. Stop complaining about everything. The law of attraction gives you what you want and feel, so if you’re pissed off with your love life you’ll attract more of the same. If you’re moaning about your bank account the LOA says you’re attracting more lack. Focus on your FEELINGS and check yourself if you’re
feeling negative. Why are you so pessimistic? You have your health, you have food in the fridge, a warm home and good friends. Life isn’t shit unless you choose it to be. And while we’re on the same subject stop blaming everyone else. My kids were not the reason I got fat. I was because I was eating shit all day. Take responsibility for your choices. Want to travel more? Book the plane ticket and worry about what you’re going to do when you get there. Everything will fall into place Don’t procrastinate - get off social media (unless you’re liking my posts ) and don’t let fear stop you from living your life. Ditch the partner, find the new job, set up the business, go skydiving, start a dance class, climb a mountain or start that business you’ve always wanted to do. Opportunity is right in front of you when you start looking, don’t settle because something better is always around the corner.

Audiences are in for a tasty treat this Christmas time with the announcement as the Epstein Theatre brings you Goldilocks and the Three Bears
T
he spectacular show from leading panto producers Regal Entertainments promises Liverpool audiences madcap comedy capers and all the fun of the circus – including circus skills and stunts performed by cast members. The panto played at the Epstein’s sister venue St Helens Theatre Royal during Christmas 2021, breaking Box Office records with five-star reviews. Goldilocks And The Three Bears will run for three weeks at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre from Friday 9 December 2022 to Sunday 1 January 2023. Two lead acts previously announced were Hollyoaks actor David Tag, who won over audiences when the show was staged in St Helens, he will reprise his role as The Ringmaster. He is joined by Dame Mama G from Britain’s Got Talent.
6
Also returning in the cast are the wonderful Olivia Sloyan as Goldilocks, local superstar Timothy Lucas as the evil Baron Von Vippenall who is currently starring in the UK tour of Blood Brothers and introducing the hilarious Brandon McCaffrey as Silly Billy.
Also starring are Katy Mac as Baby Bear, Benjamin Keith as Daddy Bear, and Hannah Riley as Mummy Bear. Theatregoers are guaranteed “the greatest show on earth”. The circus comes to town with Regal Entertainments’ magical pantomime, Goldilocks And The Three Bears. It promises to be just right with its mix of unbelievable circus tricks, madcap comedy capers, Regal’s high production values, and a smash-hit selection of chart hits to sing and dance along to. David Tag is most well-known for his long-standing role as Sylver McQueen in awardwinning Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. Since 2018, the Manchester-born actor has graced our screens in one of the show’s central families and has been involved in a number of hard-hitting storylines covering a wide variety of current topics. David Tag commented: “I had such a wonderful time playing The Ringmaster in this new
Goldilocks panto at St Helens Theatre Royal, that when the opportunity came along to step back into the role this time at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre I just couldn’t say no. It was a fantastic experience and a real highlight seeing the audience reaction right there, in front of you – it’s instant and so uplifting. I look forward to seeing everyone this Christmas for circus fun and games in Liverpool.” For more details check out www.epsteintheatre.co.uk and join the theatre’s mailing list. ack’s mum is fuuumin’. That little divvy has taken their only cow to St John’s and instead of selling him for cash, he brought back a handful of beans. Then, to make matters worse, he lashed them into the back yard and this massive weed has grown up through her bespoke Italian paving stones and put a big hole in her butterfly bush. But Jack’s problems are only just beginning. After legging it up the new tree
to get away from his mum, he’s found something even more terrifying. A fearsome giant is after him because Jack was trying to pinch his bird. What the fee fi fo fum is going on? The creative team behind the last four years’ worth of Christmas madness are all in place and the cast confirmed so far includes: Jake Abraham, Michael Fletcher, Lindzi Germain, Andrew Schofield, Hayley Sheen, Keddy Sutton and Liam Tobin.

MUSIC
Award winning Rockabilly and Americana influenced Singer/Songwriter Cal Ruddy talks to Lifestyle magazine. He has released one EP and one album and is working on another. 12
T
he 27 year old self taught musician is an established artist with bookings every weekend but his dream is to crack America and especially Nashville, Tennessee, home of country music. His upbringing was filled with love, having being diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome a form of Autism at eight years old, he said he always knew he was different and says, “I went to a specialist school in West Kirby on the Wirral for students with Autism and I am very proud of that school because they gave me opportunities I wouldn’t have had in a mainstream school. I excelled in music, I excelled in performing arts and English and they honed my talents and that is what has helped make me the man I am today.” I am very proud of my journey and I was shy and self conscious of who I was growing up but now as soon as I get on stage and go in the zone I just come into myself and me and my musicians get into a really good vibe. I believe I have a really great future ahead and can go all the way.” Cal started his musical journey when he was 15. Just before his granddad passed away he bought him his first guitar and as a child he listened to lots of different artists and genres
and this definitely had a big impact on him. He said, “. My parents introduced me to people like Marc Bolan and T-Rex, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Ian Dury and The Clash. My Grandparents always played classic country records and 50’s and 60’s Rock N’Roll so through them I discovered the likes of Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Everly Brothers and Jim Reeves. My Nan and Grandad were both Irish so I also got a decent education in traditional Irish Music. I’m very proud of my Irish heritage.” In 2017 Cal went to Nashville and met and worked on songs for his debut album with country producers and writers such as Blue Miller ( producer for Bob Seger, India Arie,Cormac Neeson and John Legend) and that inspired him to continue on his musical journey. He says, “The dream is to go back out there and make it big in America. I am a bit of an old soul in that I like this genre of music, but I have a soulful voice. The whole vibe is to encourage people to have a great time and get involved in my music and clap along and dance.
I like to play along with my audience. “I write a lot about my life experiences and the love of my family and friends and relationships I have been in, my music is emotional and I feel that people can really relate to that. I want to inspire and encourage people on the Autism spectrum to show them that a diagnosis isn’t a barrier to lead a full happy and healthy life.” Cal is looking positively towards the New Year and beyond, saying, “My dream is to be the biggest recording artist I can be and I truly believe I can get there. I am a classic sounding artist and there is a place for me” If you would like to book Cal, he is available and can travel anywhere to play, Email calruddymusic@ gmail.com or find Cal on Instagram at @calruddy Facebook at @calruddymusic and Twitter at @Cal_Ruddy

ENTERTAINMENT
Lifestyle Columnist, Actress, TV and Radio Presenter
Claudine Hope Hello Darlings! What an amazing month it has been. I attended the Lifestyle Awards where I made the finals in the Best Influencer award. What an absolute honour it was to be nominated and getting to the finals was a dream. The night was spectacular as always with a lavish drinks reception, entertainment, fashion show and delicious food. I was thrilled to find out I came runner up in my category, in my eyes I am a winner getting to the finals. Thank you to Amanda Moss for putting on the fabulous night. With Halloween over and Guy Fawkes coming to an end everyone is getting prepared for Christmas nights out, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! And lots of Christmas shopping. I’m A Celeb airs on November the 6th on ITV and what a
treat we are in for. The program is one of my favourite reality shows that gets me gripped. I love watching the celebrities live in extreme conditions with little creature comforts, participating in challenges to secure food and watching the eating challenges. Now with the
line up being revealed, I’m pleased to hear that they’ve all arrived in Brisbane. Exciting! The line is good and the shocker for me
was to hear that Boy George is on the show. Apparently is the highest paid celebrity to be on show and has reportedly secured a £500,000 appearance fee. He has also confirmed he won’t be doing any of the Bush-tucker trials due to being vegan. I’m sure the program’s producers won’t let him off that easily. There are still fermented fruit and vegetable drinks! Please check out my new website at www.claudinehope. co.uk and give me a follow on Instagram: claudine_hope_ See you next month Babes!

FITNESS
Let’s talk about body fat, let’s talk about you and me, let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be……Not the exact lyrics to a very well-known song by Salt and Pepper or should I say Papa.
U
p front and personal, body fat chooses where it sits within your body and when it is converted to energy. We all know the common places for our fat stores thighs, tums and bums for females (including under arms and boobs); men carry it up front. No matter how much exercise you do you will not be able to target certain parts of your body to loose fat. Your body fat sits on top of your muscles like a heavy all weather jacket, you will not see the designer clothes underneath unless you remove the jacket or change it for a summer jacket. If you fill a glass of water standing in a bowl and you fill the glass with too much water it will over flow and be caught in the bowl. The water is food, the bowl is your body, the over flow of water now becomes body fat. If you drink the full glass of water before it overflows, then there is no water in the bowl (body fat). Drinking the water by being active and exercising is the only way to ensure the glass does not overflow.
16
So how do we burn the body fat we have, the answer is obviously exercise but not all exercise achieves the same goals. The other answer is that we still need food, so starvation is not an option. If you choose to starve yourself then any food you eat will be stored as body fat as your body goes into shock and thinks its needs to store food because It does not know when the next meal is coming. Your body then
diverts its attention to other sources of energy and will start to break down the muscle fibres for energy. We have heard it all before but that is because it is only to maintain your current status quo or change your body size, eat healthy and get active. To burn fat muscle density is important, the more powerful the engine the more fuel it burns in combination with activities that raise the heart rate, but not too high. Strength training is just as important to improve the density of your muscles. Do not be scared of lifting weights, keep the weight low and repetitions high. Increase the weight as you feel the exercise becoming easier and change your strength training routine every 3-4 weeks. Keeps the body guessing what is coming next and keeps you from getting bored. Increasing muscle density will increase your ability to burn calories. Each Personal Trainer has a different approach but my advice is to work with your body and listen to your heart as it is an automatic regulator. Depending on your everyday stress levels, sleep and diet your heart will always tell you how you are feeling, guiding you to what you can achieve on any particular day. The scientific method to find your optimum fat burning range is the formula 220 – Age = this gives you your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR). You then need to calculate 60% and 70% of your MHR. This will then give you the range that your heart
rate (HR) needs to work in to efficiently burn fat give or take 5-10 beats per minute. You can normally set these ranges on your smartwatch but if you do not have one, exercise at a pace that allows you to talk at the same time. This means you are breathing in enough oxygen for your body to use to break down fat. Once you start to find it difficult to exercise and talk then you are probably moving out of your fat burning zone, breathing becomes shallow and less oxygen will trigger your body to use different sources of energy and transition away from burning fat. I would recommend you choose an exercise you can do constantly for 30-45minutes like walking, slow jogging, cycling or rowing. There is no quick fix to burning fat or getting fit. I would suggest focusing on getting into a routine and aim for noticeable changes in your body size within 3 months. Do not forget that rest is just as important so give yourself a day off every now and again from your routine so your body can repair itself and be stronger to go again. AUTOBIOGRAPHY W
How do you write an autobiography?
Decide which part of your life you want to start from and end... (The childhood that shaped you? The start of a relationship that changed you? The trauma that moved you? The successes that empowered you? The job you walked away from to pursue your dream?) Write a list of the essential themes and stories around this, the emotions you experienced and how they impacted your life. Focus on key turning points that will resonate
with your readers. Write a brief bullet list of events in chronological order. Draft scenes from your life and describe them illustratively, such as meeting your best friend, giving birth, breaking a bone, listening to your favourite piece of music for the first time, waking up in a new country for the first time. Piece them all together with emotion and humour.
What is the purpose of your autobiography? To share your story? To inspire others? To fulfil a personal ambition? How will it end? By giving it to AmandamossPR to help you create it, publish it and promote it. Email amanda@ amandamosspr.uk www.amandamosspr.uk

PROUD SPONSORS OF THE LIVERPOOL LIFESTYLE AWARDS 2023 Murphy’s Gin comes from fairly modest beginnings. Initially the personal passion of one brother with a background in chemistry, a wife who loves gin and a tiny 2 litre copper still. We have now grown into a small batch, artisanal distillery supplying exceptional products to some of the most highly rated restaurants and bars in the local area. Like many Liverpool natives, our ancestry is traced back to Ireland. William Murphy, a young mariner, left Wexford harbour in 1889 with a dream of better life. He arrived in Liverpool, which was then one of the greatest maritime cities on earth. Fast forward 130 years and 4 generations later; and 3 brothers have now embarked on a different type of journey with Murphy’s Gin. Being environmentally conscious, we have deliberately chosen bottles which do not use an excess of glass. This means that more bottles can be manufactured and transported with a lesser carbon footprint than if we used heavy bottomed glass bottles. Our corks and paper labels are all sourced from suppliers with sustainability & ethical credentials, and all of our ingredients and packaging have been sourced from UK based companies.
