WE ARE:
Officially launched in 2016, the African Diaspora Consortium (ADC)’s mission is to impact positively the educational, economic, and artistic outcomes and opportunities of populations across the African Diaspora. ADC is currently considered the leader in establishing partnerships and developing new research and best practices related to African descendants in countries where African descendants were historically and culturally dispersed during the transatlantic slave trade and different migration periods including the Caribbean, Europe, North America, and South America. ADC’s initiatives are led by distinguished scholars and highly acclaimed artists across the globe. ADC seeks to accomplish three main goals: •Identify and highlight historic and cultural connections as well as common challenges and opportunities across the Diaspora. •Increase educational success and outcomes for African descendent populations at all levels globally, promoting and exchanging learning successes from partner countries. •Utilize the Arts (Music, Performing, and Visual) as a vehicle to enhance understanding and connectedness as historical and cultural uplift. WE ARE: The Pan-African Center and the Center for Pan-African Studies emerged in 2005 from the realization of the need for intellectual empowerment of African communities around the world. Our main objective is to disseminate African-centered knowledge about Africa and its Diasporas from epistemological bases, away from Eurocentric postulates, which are common in most academic institutions. We also focus on mobilizing the African and Afro-descendant community to achieve progress in rights, political unity and action, and greater efficiency of our social entities. We organize courses, talks, conference, and cultural and social impact events such as the Book Fair, Media, and African culture in Spain. We fight against racism and restrictive migration and international policies and we are networking with Pan-African organizations to achieve a true emancipation of the African continent from neocolonialism. A seasoned Production Technologist who’s been working in education since 2002, Faustino’s work as the Strategic Manager of the institute mimics the energies being expressed by a large and growing sector of the black population of African descent (including black mestizos) who feel socially excluded from many aspects of Brazilian social life. A Sao Paulo born educator, who has devoted some of his career to bringing about social change for those black citizens who are striving to master the English language, among other things. Faustino started the Ebony English school -the first English language school in Brazil that teaches English with a commitment to including black cultural reference points – because he wanted Afro-Brazilians to be able to access better opportunities both within Brazil, and outside of it. And he saw that for many who couldn’t speak or communicate in the English language, their life opportunities might be limited.

We are convinced that the effective inclusion of marginalized and ethnic communities depends on the quality of their collective and individual leadership. Our lines of work are: - Government and citizenship - Youth and education - Economy and community innovation - Culture, knowledge, and diaspora These are the visible and effective hands that we hope for in one or two decades, that are achieving small changes through their community initiatives, and are also achieving change through positions of power at the national, regional, and local level among the economic, social, political, and cultural elite of Colombia. IPOTO POTO is an organization in charge of creating children's literature, editing afro-stories and preserving the story of oral tradition since the stories and legends transmitted from generation to generation. Children's literature has the potential to create lasting impressions. When books contain experiences and characters with children can feel identified, they foster positive self-concept of children and respect for diversity. Children's stories should serve as "mirrors" for self-recognition, as well as "windows" that help children explore diversity. Children's stories can teach children to understand and question prejudice and harassment and promote social action to combat injustice. In short, culture is an agent of social change that can function as an antidote to free minds and make them fly. Believe in magic and create it.
