This is a new set of paintings of profesor Adam Wsiołkowski's students from last years.
FROM OBSERVATION TO CREATION
Professor Adam Wsiołkowski has been leading the Faculty of Painting’s Workroom nr 1 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow since 1993. His former student and a postgraduate, Marcin Kowalik, joined him as an assistant in 2010.
On the basis of study from nature (nude, portrait, landscape, still life), students develop their skills of transposing spatial phenomena into a two-dimensional image with the use of painting media. This experience is supposed to help them develop their own artistic vision in an independent, unassisted creative work.
The curriculum also consists of semester competitions, focusing on an interpretation of an objective or abstract theme. Over the last 25 years, a dozen of young artists studying under the guidance of the Professor have graduated from the Academy, many of them now working intensively and successfully.
