Homework:

1 Croissant, hot cross bun, Intro to 4 criteria. Drawing & exploration.

Decorate the cover of your sketchbook inspired by one of the Arts criteria. Knowing & Understanding, Developing skills, Thinking creatively, responding. You may use any media you like.

2 Croissant, 4 criteria drawing & exploration.

Draw something from the fridge. Put it in front of you when you draw it. Try and create a single light source.

3 A. Project intro. Family Continuous line drawings of sweets that you like. tree, symbols, countries, foods & cultural symbols research collage, 2 weeks 4 B&C Drawing experiments, tea, coffee, wax, tape , gesso , mono print , textures & forms

5 B & C C Painting techniques: Scumbling, sgraffito, stippling, gradation

Make a wash in your sketchbook. Find a famous piece of writing by an author from a culture that you feel connected to. It could be a pop artist, poet, singer, etc. Write out a selection of the words, cover the page. It can be in any language.

Artist study: Choose 1 artist from the above list. Collect 4 images, information about them, your opinion. Make a study of a section of one of them, you will start this task in class.

7 Negative space and textures

Write a poem about food that has meaning to you. Present it creatively on a sketchbook page.

8 Start final piece

Zoom in on a section of your work to make an abstract design. Experiment with 3 different colour schemes. Explain how they work in different ways.
