This Portfolio contains selected works from my projects during my amateur time. The projects were chosen to show the different scales of approach to an photographic project adopted in my design education. These are explorations of portraiture, urban street photography, architecture photography and travel photography.

01 E M O T I O N S I N W O M E N Portraiture - Personal Work
“ I look for authenticity, engagement, tender and compassionate point of view, and sensuality. I think is about a sense of presence, where you feel like the subject is not looking at the photographer, but it’s looking at you. It’s about some sort of deep looking - a presence rather than self-consciousness, Sometimes it’s about the quality of light or mood. If a portrait has a narrative, I’m usually drawn to it. I don’t necessarily mind if something is staged, but when things starts to feel too artificial I think it’s a crutch.” Richard Renaldi

“I prowled the streets all day, feeling very strung-up and ready to pounce, determined to ‘trap’ life— to preserve life in the act of living.” Henri Cartier-Bresson

Falling in love with a city is not easy, but if you give it enough time to fill it with golden rays and special people in its squares and its streets, surely the probability of this happening will increase.

Travel Photography - Day to Day Work
We are unlikely to long remember the smell and buzz of a flower garden in spring, the awe of gazing for the first time at the mountain we intend to climb, the caress of a tropical breeze, the thrill of a huge roller coaster, the wonder of our first wild bear, or the adrenaline of rafting white water. Our photographs need to bring these and other sensations back, to trigger our memories, and to communicate how we felt to others. To do this, we need to think and feel as much as look when setting out to make photographs. Robert Caputo

Architecture Photography - Personal and Academic Work
“-You don’t have to struggle to give function to every single corner. You can just wait and see and enjoy - he once said. The architect’s consideration for light, composition and space naturally chimes with photographers, many of whom have photographed his designs, from Alex Webb’s street photography in the main square in Malta’s capital Valletta, to Harry Gruyaert’s characteristically colorful shots of Osaka airport, that’s architecture in one image.” Issey Gladston

A friend asked me to take a picture that showed something I love well. and I took this picture, showing how I see architecture, as something tangible but at the same time it allows me to dream, experiment and even distort it. I can have it in my power.
