Dominican Sisters Select Vince Krydynski ’81 as New President On July 1, Marian Catholic entered a new and exciting time in its rich history with the appointment of the first lay president. After a long and thorough search, the Dominican Sisters of Springfield selected Vince Krydynski ’81 for the position. “Vince is truly right for us right now. He is the person that that can bring the continuity of the mission of Sister leadership to lay leadership,” said Sister Rebecca Ann Gemma, OP, prioress general of the Dominican Sisters of Springfield. The search for the next president began last year with members of the Marian Catholic community interviewing many candidates until the final few were chosen to interview with the Dominican Sister Member Board. The ultimate decision was made by the Dominican Sisters, fully aware that a layperson, or a partner in mission, would eventually hold the position. “Knowing that we needed and trusted our partners in mission, we began a while back bringing forth and asking for the assistance of those who will continue the Dominican tradition and preaching the gospel,” commented Sister Rebecca Ann.
