A world to explore outside the classroom

Education at Hymers is not confined to the classroom. Our pupils, from the youngest to the oldest, are encouraged to explore and discover adventure beyond the school desk.

At Hymers Hessle Mount, as well as a large outdoor space at the site to play in and explore, children in Year 1 and Year 2 regularly travel to Hymers College to use the swimming pool. Music staff from Hymers College visit Hymers Hessle Mount to offer music lessons to pupils and PE is taught by a PE specialist. School trips are also a regular feature of activity as are school productions.

Our pupils in the Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form have use of our fantastic 200-seater theatre – opened by Dame Judi Dench - for school productions put on throughout the year with the opportunity to have Drama lessons in the theatre. The pupils at Hymers College also have a swimming pool on offer as well as an array of musical instrument lessons available. Over 120 clubs and societies are offered being held before school, at lunchtime and after school. There is something for everyone.
