Giving back to the community

Making sure we stay grounded and appreciate our local surroundings is one of our founding principles here at Hymers. Our pupils are all encouraged to give something back to the local community through a range of activities.

Every year the school selects the ‘School charities of the year’ who, over the academic year, we will fundraise for to support their cause. We also support those locally in need through our Christmas parcel collection and, most recently, have raised money to purchase products to support the people of Ukraine.

In our Junior School the Leadership Club regularly takes the lead on raising funds to support local and national charities and in 2021 the Year 6 choir recorded and released a song to raise money for Barnardo’s.
