Hymers Hessle Mount
If you are interested in applying for a place at Hymers Hessle Mount we would first recommend that you have a tour of the school with Mr Copeland, our Interim Head.
When you have completed the tour, if you would like to proceed you should complete our short application form. On receipt of the application form, and providing there is a place available, we will send you an offer and paperwork to complete for you to accept the place.
We can accept children into Hymers Hessle Mount from their third birthday. Depending on when your child turns three you may wish to talk with the team at Hymers Hessle Mount about when it would be most appropriate for your child to join the school.
Children who enter Hymers Hessle Mount will transfer automatically without an entrance assessment into Year 3 at Hymers College Junior School.
Hymers College
For those interested in a place at Hymers College but who do not attend Hymers Hessle Mount, it is necessary for your child to sit an entrance assessment prior to any offer of a place at Hymers College.
The main entry points for pupils joining Hymers College are Year 3 (start of the Junior School), Year 7 (start of Senior School) and Year 12 (start of Sixth Form). If places are available we can also accept pupils throughout the other year groups. Please contact the Admissions team for information on place availability.
For both the Junior School and Senior School the main entrance assessment is typically held in the January preceding the September your child hopes to join.
For example, for pupils looking to join the school in September 2023, the main entrance assessment will be held in January 2023.
For the Sixth Form, the assessment process is slightly different and the GCSE results of the pupil feed into whether or not a place can be offered. Please contact the Admissions team if you would like to discuss an application for Sixth Form.
In all cases, in order for your child to be included in the entrance assessments it is necessary for you to complete our application form. We ask for this to be with us before the Christmas break prior to the assessments in January. All applicants are invited to the entrance assessment.
