The careers programme starts in Year 8 with a coordinated approach through to Year 13. Our specialist careers advisor is on hand to give individual advice and guidance to all pupils. Greater emphasis is given in Year 11 and beyond, with an annual Careers Convention attracting senior representatives and young graduates from over 50 organisations covering a full range of career areas. Students in Years 11-13 take part in our successful work experience programme with help from our dedicated coordinator, and students also focus on employability skills.

Our annual practice interviews evening for Year 13 involves a network of professionals from academic institutions, healthcare and local businesses to help students gain valuable experience, especially when applying for competitive university places.

The Careers department re-awarded the Quality in Careers Standard, a nationally recognised award, in July 2021.
