FPR is a team on the rise, and we hope to receive some fantastic coverage with our logo placed in front of the team’s in-car cameras, as well as on the team uniforms and on Will’s helmet. James Moffat is a star in the making, his performances in his first full season last year for Dick Johnson Racing were outstanding. James is a star in the making, and has the right team behind him to get the job done. His number 18 machine is the very car that James Courtney drove to the championship victory in 2010, so keep an eye on our young charge as the season progresses. Speaking of legends, John Bowe is back for more in 2012 with his awesome Mustang in the Touring Car Masters. JB has won everything there is to win in Australian motorsport, and just keeps on keeping on. Last year he managed to add the TCM title to his long list of career achievements, and he will be looking to repeat the performance this year. Last but not least is Team Motologic in the Australian Superbike Championships. The team stays the same as last year- Jamie Stauffer and Wayne Maxwell on Hondas, with the combination proving successful in 2011. Under the leadership of Superbike guru Paul Free, Wayne and Jamie will be two to watch as the season goes on. Motorsport is competitive, exciting, passionate & innovative, we at Doric stand for all those values, and as the slogan says, Doric are the Innovators. t wasn’t the start Mark Winterbottom was hoping for ahead of the 2012 season. He spent time in hospital after breaking his ankle during a water skiiing accident. But after weeks of treatment it’s on the mend, and Winterbottom’s confident it won’t effect his push towards his first V8 Supercar Championship. Winterbottom had to wear a moon boot during his season launch and with a nickname like ‘Frosty’ there was no better place to have it than at the Medibank Ice House in Melbourne. In good news for fans, he also announced he’ll be part of the Ford Performance Racing team until 2014 after signing a contract extension. “I want a championship and feel Ford Performance Racing will deliver in the next 3 years. Thanks for everyones support over the years and lets get that number 1 back where it belongs,” Winterbottom said. During the 2012 Season Launch Test at Sandown he finished with the eight fastest lap of the day. But more importantly his ankle passed the test with flying colours. “My ankle survived the test very well so it should be getting back to 100%,” Winterbottom said.

ill Davison is a man on a mission. It’s the second year he’ll be part of the Ford Performance Racing squad and he signalled his intentions early, recording a new track record with an impressive 1m.09.32 secs lap at the season launch test day in Melbourne.
V
8 rising star James Moffat gave a few of his fans a dream job during his season launch in Sydney.
Moffat invited four of his loyal followers to build his Team Norton DJR Falcon, which included helping to put the panels on and fitting the wheels in place.
“I was obviously very happy with the car no matter what tyres we were on and I had a crack at the end and set a great lap time which was encouraging,” Davison said.
The finish product revealed Moffat’s brand new car colours for this season which are yellow and black livery.
Davison finished last year in seventh position, but could have been as high as fifth if it wasn’t for a couple of problems during his last two races.
“I think the car looks really amazing and it reflects the enthusiasm that all the team is feeling for the year ahead,” an excited Moffat said.
Despite the late season set-backs, he comes into this season full of confidence and is sure he’ll be one of the title contenders.
“If the car goes as good as it looks we’ll be in great shape.”
“We worked very hard last year to improve our ability to have a car that is strong no matter what tyres we use or what sort of circuit we race on. I plan to put all that effort into winning races. Once we get our first I have a feeling we can keep the ball rolling,” Davison said. “I have never been more optimistic heading into a race season” an upbeat.”
At the season launch test day at Sandown Moffat put the car through it first major test and was happy with the results, clocking the twelve fastest time of the day ahead of all three of his 2012 teammates. “The day gave our team the chance to test out our different tyre combinations and make sure the car is ready to go for Adelaide”, Moffat said. “I feel really confident this year and can’t wait to get started.”

Bowe To Defend TCM Title John Bowe has one goal this year - to defend his Touring Car Masters Title. He snatched last years series on the final race of the season and the motorsport veteran is extremenly confident he’ll be able to go back to back. “There’s no reason I can’t defend my title, with the car I’ve got and my great team around me , I am sure we’ll give it a red hot crack”., Bowe said. Bowe’s had a busy few months getting his beloved Mustang, nicknamed “Sally” ready for another gruelling season. He’s made a few adjustments to the car and is hopeful they’ll get him over the line again. “Dick Savy (Savy Motorsport) is completing a full engineering refresh, while Scott Yorston has given her a fresh new look, not losing her well established identity, so with all onto the task we’re giving ‘Sally’ a complete make over,” Bowe said. “I love racing these old cars and people love watching them so it really suits where I am at in my racing life,” he said. Away from the track, Bowe’s been busy travelling around the world. He headed to Japan earlier this year to visit his youngest son Alex who’s studying. Bowe says he was pretty impressed with what he saw especially in a country which was devastated by a tsunami just over a year ago. “What a fantastic country Japan is. Weather just like Melbourne in August haha! Most polite people on earth”, Bowe said.

The Doric Corrosion Resistance Advantage D oric Products are the leaders in producing door and window hardware that is corrosion resistant, with our products designed to handle the tough Australian environment. Doric’s corrosion guarantee is not restricted to any one product category, with multiple products such as the MK4 Chainwinder, Sliding Patio Door Locks, DR1000/2000 Rollers Series & DN970/971 Shopfront Lock range all featuring extreme corrosion resistance. The MK4 Chainwinder has a lifetime warranty against corrosion on the body and base. The ‘Universal’ Sliding Patio Door Lock range uses the patented Doric Polesium™ technology. The Polesium™ handle covers offer extreme corrosion resistance and stand up to the rigours of the Australian climate. The DR1000/2000 Roller series is manufactured from an engineered polymer which is strengthened, not only to handle the extra weight of today’s sliding doors, but the ‘ZZ’ bearing is corrosion resistant handling everything that is thrown its way. The DN970/971 Commercial Shopfront Lock range uses stainless steel furniture and face plate for increased durability. This, coupled with zinc die cast housing gives an extreme level of corrosion resistance. Doric Honda Ups the Ante in 2012
W
ith a new and improved bike, Honda Racing is going to be the team to beat in this years’ Australian Superbike Championship.
Wayne Maxwell and Jamie Stauffer will again join forces in 2012 and will take to the grid on the new Honda CBR1000RR . After finishing in second spot last year, Stauffer’s hoping the new bike will help him demolish the competition out on the track. “The development during the 2011 season has brought some great results but I’m really keen to race with the new model and see what it brings in 2012,” Stauffer said. “There have been some very valuable changes in the new CBR1000RR so it will be great to see how it goes this season. Both Wayne and I showed we had great pace throughout 2011, so it’s just a matter of building on that this year.” Teammate Maxwell is thrilled to be racing alongside Stauffer again this year. Maxwell was the king of qualifying in 2011 ending the year in fourth position. In 2012 he is aiming for no less than a podium finish. “Doric Team Honda is definitely going to be strong this season and to be riding alongside Jamie again will be awesome,” Maxwell said. Maxwell’s confident with the team he’s got he’ll be able to claim that elusive title he’s been striving for. He proved he had the outright pace to get the job done in 2011, but mechanical dramas and some small errors cost him over the season. “I have never been more determined. Hopefully Jamie and I can make it first and second throughout 2012”, Maxwell said. “I know which position I plan to be in.”

Adelaide Preview T
he V8 Supercars Championship will return to the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide for the start of the season, after kicking off 2011 in Abu Dhabi. The city circuit creates some of the toughest and most exciting racing conditions of the season and this year will be no exception. After a well earned break the Doric Racing team is ready to go and is coming into the weekend full of confidence. Will Davison, Mark Winterbottom and James Moffat are all keen to get their seasons off to the perfect start with victory in Adelaide. For Davison the Clipsal 500 is a special place. In 2009 he took a double podium and last year he claimed pole position in qualifying. He’ll be looking for another podium finish this weekend to get his season off to the perfect start after an run at the official test day in Melbourne. Teammate Winterbottom returns to Adelaide full of confidence after finishing
third in last year’s race. It was the second year in a row he made the podium and he’s hoping to do it again this weekend. Doric rising star Moffat had a tough start to his V8 Supercar career in Adelaide last year, but he’s hoping to put that behind him this weekend as he chases the first podium finish of his career. Holden’s Garth Tander will be hard to stop this weekend, having won three out of the last four V8 Supercar races around the parklands circuit. Hot on his heals will be the reigning V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup. Whincup will also be hard to knock off this weekend following his race victory in Adelaide last year. With Holden dominating the podium in Adelaide in 2011, the Doric Racing team is confident they’ll be able to stop that from happening again when the season kicks into gear this weekend.

D
oric has been involved in V8 Racing since 2004. Doric moved into Motor Racing as a way of building relationships with their clients, and entertaining their guests in an exciting, fast paced environment, with money can’t buy experiences. Rupprecht Motorsports was Doric’s first partner in V8 Supercar Racing, a partnership that lasted four rounds in the 2004 season. 2005 Doric forged a partnership with PCR & Team Principal Paul Cruickshank, a relationship that lasted a total of six seasons. 2005 was Doric’s first year with PCR which was also in the V8 Development Series. Phil Scifleet drove for PCR and had a successful season, finishing 6th in the championship, recording five wins along the way. 2006 saw Doric and PCR moved up to the main V8 championship series. Doric moved from title sponsor to associate sponsor, taking up a spot on the front spoiler and also the rear of the car, the same sponsorship space that was used for several seasons. Doric continued to sponsor PCR in 2009 in its new identity of Wilson Security Racing. A Doric sponsored car graced the podium for the first time in the hands of Fabian Coulthard at the Symmons Plains Raceway round that year. The 2010 Doric Racing program incorporated Tim Slade in the #47 Wilson Security Racing V8 Supercar, #18 John Bowe in the Touring Car Masters Series, #99 James Moffat in the V8 Development Series, as well #27 Jamie Stauffer and #33 Jordan Burgess riding Doric Ducati’s in the Australian Superbike Championship. 2011 saw the Doric Racing program move its support behind leading title chance, Ford Performance Racing, with their drivers Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom. James Moffat stepped up to the main V8 Championship with reigning champions Dick Johnson Racing, while Wayne Maxwell joined Jamie Stauffer at Team Motologic, with the outfit moving to Hondas in the Australian Superbike championship. John Bowe will again be flew the Doric flag, with his awesome Mustang in the Touring Car Masters Series. For 2012, the Doric Racing family remained unchanged.

Mustang Sally T
he Touring Car Masters were born out of the Historic Group N Touring Car category, when safety, performance and commercial issues came to the forefront when competing in a full national championship. Although outwardly the cars look identical to the muscle cars of days past, regulations allow for changes to be made to suspension and brakes, imrproving reliability and safety. Rules also dictate that many hard-to-find and out of production components may be replaced with modern reproductions, lowering costs for competitors.
Under the exterior skin of ‘Mustang Sally’ lies a fully welded roll cage, complemented by a racing seat, racing steering wheel, window safety net, ignition cut off switch and fire extinguisher. The interior is stripped out of any flammable material, with the front and rear fire walls sealed to limit the risk of fire. At the heart of the beast is the Boss 351, 5.8 litre Windsor V8 powerplant, which pumps out an impressive 600+ horsepower. While such figures may not have been possible in 1969, modern knowledge and tuning techniques, coupled with 98 octane unleaded fuel make it a reality.
