WELCOME TO OUR ANNUAL

Each year our Christmas Spectacular has grown bigger and better, with more extravagant sets, costumes and choreography to celebrate the festive season. The show stars a very talented team, from budding theatre stars to professional actors and actresses. Our younger performers always enjoy learning from our older, more experienced cast members and the atmosphere backstage is always such a brilliant one. We pride ourselves on giving all performers the opportunity to learn and train under exceptional guidance and every year it’s an absolute pleasure to see how far our young performers have come! Christmas is a great time to reflect on the year and look forward to the following year, too. We’re excited to be bringing Chicago to the stage in April, returning to the Town Hall with A Night At The Musicals and yet again with Christmas Spectacular 2020. It’s going to be another busy year for the Futurist Theatre Productions team, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We hope you have a wonderful festive season and wish you lots of happiness for the New Year.

Jamie Hudson Producer, Futurist Theatre Productions

THE FUTURIST LOOKING BRIGHT! The aim of Futurist Theatre Productions is to provide training and development opportunities for young people. Our cast members don’t pay membership or rehearsal fees, meaning everyone can take part in our shows. We offer an entirely accessible and affordable opportunity for young people to experience taking part in professional standard productions. Of course, these training opportunities have been invaluable for many of our performers. Previous cast members have gone on to star in professional shows. Most recently, three previous Futurist Theatre Production stars have been touring the UK with The Carole King Songbook and many other past cast members have performed professionally at the Edinburgh Fringe, on tour, on stage and on TV! We’re proud of each and every one of our cast and creative team, whether they choose a career under the spotlight, operating the spotlight or take a completely different route altogether! Our company prioritises building up confidence and professional expertise for all young people, so if you’ve always fancied getting up on stage and taking part, do keep an eye out on our Facebook page and website for 2020 audition information.

SHARING REAL MAGIC THIS CHRISTMAS Our junior cast have been taking part in a secret elf challenge. Their mission: spread Christmas cheer for all to hear! They had to try and put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas, in particular someone who might not usually feel much joy during the festive season. They were given some pennies to do this, and they have achieved some wonderful results. Our elves shopped at charity shops for coats, duvets and jumpers and donated their purchases to local homeless shelters, created boxes for Operation Christmas Child bought toys to donate to under-privileged children, and still have much more planned. Watch out, there might be an elf about near you!

EVERYONE, MEET OUR REAL DOMINICK! Inspired by Dominick, Futurist decided to adopt a real donkey this year. We’re delighted to introduce you to Harbin, who lives at the Donkey Sanctuary’s Leeds base. Abandoned at the roadside with seven others, Harbin was rescued by the Donkey Sanctuary. Thanks to their amazing care and nurturing of Harbin, he is now a bright and fun-loving little donkey- can we get an aww? Harbin loves humans, and even spends his time helping adults and children with additional needs! Here are a few pictures of the gorgeous chap himself.
