"Be cool, stay in school" -Mr. Williams

When looking ahead, beginning with an end in mind is a consideration all high school students need to acknowledge. The iourney from freshman to seni status is full of the ioys and sorrows of being a teen. Life in high school involves a spectrum of ideas, emotions, and experiences so finding balance in life is a key to your success.

"Stay focused on the purpose of school and education ... the reasons for why you are here" -Mrs. Bondurant 2

"Be creative about studying"-Mrs. Graham

The 101st yearbook does not have the goal to list 101 ways to survive, but to show you visually cover to cover the many ways Central students embrace their experiences by being prepared, setting goals, taking risks and celebrating success at every milestone. Life is full of 101 beginnings.

Tip# 132 • One of the best ways to make friends and learn your way aroun is by joining school clubs, sports teams, and activities. Even if you canlt kick a 30 yard field goal or sing a solo, getting involved in other ways like going to a school play, helping with a bake sale, or cheenng on friends at a swim meet can help you feel like a part of student Iif e.

e e

Tip# 24 Never change who you are to try and fit in. If your friends don't accept you for you, they're not really friends. Most people belong with a certain clique simply because they are being themselves and their unique personalities and interests fall into that stereotype. For example, someone who is naturally athletic will become a jock in high school.

As talk of homecoming starts up towards the beginning of the year, spirit week is right there with it. Spirit week is the most exciting week for Central students, mainly because each day of the week is a different dress-up theme. This year's homecoming theme was "Cosmic Nights" and the spirit week themes consisted of the following: Monday as Decades Day, Tuesday as Twin Day, Wednesday as East Coast Day, Thursday as Class Color Day, and the True School Spirit Day, Friday as Maroon and White Day! Students were especially pleased this year because they had a new spirit theme, East Coast Day, based off the popular reality TV show, Jersey Shore. It made spirit week fresh and new! When the week comes to an end it is a bitter sweet feeling, but that just means the students get out of class to enjoy the pep-rally on Friday in Combes Gym. They also go out to support the Central fighting Maroons on that Friday night! Many special memories were made in this event-filled week!

Last year, Central High School's fall musical was Sweeney Todd. The show was a dark tale about an evil barber named Sweeney who owns a shop in London. Seeking vengeance for the loss of his wife, he slits the throats of his customers and sends them down to Mrs. Lovett where they are baked into meat pies. The customers turn out to be her secret ingredient.

L ast year, the children's musical was Seussical. It is a story about the journey of an elephant's effort to save a world of Who's living on a dust speck. Animals, from the jungle he lives in, call him insane for thinking a world smaller than a speck could be in existence. Seussical was filled with lots of songs based off of classic books written by Dr. Seuss. The musical consisted of six shows with the main characters double cast.

What happens when hapless actors get together and attempt to put on plays? The actors try to put on Oedocles, Cinderella, Stalag 69, and lastly Moby Dick. With unmemorized lines and falling set pieces, A Coarse Acting shows that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Finishing 6th at the Big 12 conference, 5th at regionals and 7th at sectionals, the girls improved greatly under the leadership of captain Cornelia Osborne, the lone sen1or of the team. Sending one girl to state, freshmen Hannah Wnght, was the highlight of the season. Voted most valuable of the team were freshmen, Hannah Wright and Nedyalka Sroka, saying a lot about the future of the upcoming seasons of cross country at Central H1gh School.

Bleacher Bum & Preci ion Dance Team Every year, the 1ncred1ble students of Central High School become members of the Bleacher Bums and Bleacher Babes, the main cheenng section for the students at both football and basketball games. The cheenng this year was amazing and as loud as it has ever been. After losing last year's Bleacher Bum leader, Tim Frye, the Bleacher Bums needed a new leader that 1s JUSt as passionate. Adam Hittle took over as the Bleacher Bum leader this year and brought the ultimate spirit to every game, like every other Bleacher Bum. The cheenng sect1on will be los1ng many important seniors this year including Clarence Lee, Tanner Goslin, Thomas Hlinka, and many more. Although, with every great loss there is always a great reward, the Bleacher Bums are prom1sing that next year's cheering section shall be unrelentless and to be as loud as they can be for every game.
