Sunlight

A thing woke up and saw a light beam. The light beam penetrated the thing. Then, the thing tore with its opened eyes in the hot daylight. The thing lets it occur without understanding why it happened for such a long time.

햇볕

그것은 깨어났고 가느다란 빛을 보았다. 그 빛은 그것의 눈을 찌르는 듯 관통했고...그것은 뜨거운 대낮에 눈을 뜬 채 눈물을 흘렸다. 알 수 없는 그 눈물을 그것은 그대로 내버려 두었다.

A stone

She is a stone who never forgets the thing’s mind. The thing has been travelling to her for many years. The thing is touching her cheek lightly and without moving for several minutes. Then leaves her with keeping in its silence. She always stays there with her cold body and no words under the Nam mountain. The thing... wants to enter the stone... which is her inside.

돌

그녀는, 그 돌은 그것의 마음에 지워지지 않는다. 오랫동안 그것은 그녀에게 갔다. 그것은 고개 숙인 그녀의 볼을 한참 만지다 떠나오곤 했다. 그녀는 남산 아래에서 차가운 몸으로 말없이 거기에 있었다. 그것이 그녀를 찾으면 언제나 거기에 있었다. 그것은... 그 돌, 그녀 속으로... 들어가고 싶었다.

Fire It might be a stone from the beginning when the thing decided to become a stone. It might be past memories with kids who are floating in its colorful shapes and the other one is on the edge of the wood boat. Everything is gone with fire.

불

그것이 돌이 되고자 했을 때부터 그것은 이미 돌이 되었을지도 모른다. 색색의 형태들을 떠돌던 아이도, 배 끝에 있던 아이도 모두 과거 속 아이일지도 모른다. 불은 남김없이 모든 것을 태운다.

Ash

Everything is gone with fire and ash is left. Ash turns to dust in the air... At night...in death.

재

불은 남김없이 모든 것들을 태우고 재만 남았다. 밤은, 죽음은 이 재마저도 어디론가 훨훨 날려버린다.

A day

No raining, but a grey heavy cloudy sky all day long makes men agitated. At dusk, an opening the sky, clear the grey heavy clouds drifted away as if magic of the universe. Suddenly, the sky changes bright yellow and vermilion... The moment, the sky shows us a mastered work which any artists can’t mimic like the work. The shadow of the night covered the work with the darkness in a moment. Everything disappeared. Nothing remains at all. Sea shore in a strong daylight beam, on the field of the sand at Pyosun beach is full of wave shapes which waves made themselves. The next waves come in. Then the unique shapes already disappeared. Comes in and comes out... in and out... in and out... To be born and died... born and died... born and died... In this endless repetition, the thing realises the pleasure of the moment. The thing is keeping its lives continuously with its work for encountering with the pleasure of the moment. A day of the thing is to be born in the early morning and to be dead at night. Living today is to be aged. This is to grow an oldness. To grow into an oldness is going to be dead. The thing wants to be worn out of with its works that the thing makes and draws lines repeatedly. Now, the thing’s eyes don’t tear anymore under the shining daylight beam. And the thing asks you. What is your day at the moment?

하루

비가 오지도 않은, 잔뜩 흐린 날은 회색빛으로 하루 종일 사람을 심란하게 한다. 해질녘쯤 마치 조화를 부리듯 하늘이 열리듯 노랑 주황의 화려한 색으로 회색빛을 순식간에 걷어내더니 바로 그 순간, 어느 예술가들도 따라할 수 없는 작업을 내 놓고 어둠으로 덮어버린다. 사라진다. 한 낮의 바닷가, 표선 모래밭은 밀려오는 파도가 찍어낸 물결 형상들로 가득하다. 그 기이한 형상들은 또한 그 다음 파도가 쓸어가 버린다. 나타났다 사라지고...나타났다 사라지고... 태어나고 죽고... 태어나고 죽고... 이 무수한 반복 속에 잠시 잠깐 맛보는 그 찰나의 기쁨. 그 찰나를 만나기 위해 그것은 이 하루를 묵묵히 살아낸다. 그것의 하루는 아침에 태어나 저녁에 죽는 것이다. 오늘 이 하루를 살아가는 것은, 나이를 먹는 것이고, 이것은 늙어 가는 것이다. 늙음은 죽음으로 가는 것이다. 그러므로 그것은 이 하루를 그것이 만들어 내는 어떤 것, 그어가는 어떤 선에 그것의 힘을 다 쓰기를 바란다. 그것은 한 낮 뜨거운 태양 아래 더 이상 눈물 흘리지 않는다, 그리고 그것은 묻는다. 당신의 하루는 무엇인가?

To you.

In the early morning, wind is blowing and tangerine leaves are busy to sound with the wind. A wood boat and kid’s ash disappeared everywhere with gentle wind. I again encounter the new morning. Now, I realise what I have done and looked back in a month which I concentrated deeply. And I have been feeling what my works are.

I have been through to try understanding about I, myself or the thing with its works. At this very moment, I embrace I, myself or the thing as the way I am.

This is about progress of experiment through my exhibition and also it is one of my art works sort of. I organised and invited some collaboration artists so that I can learn more about me or something. I requested them using my body as their equipments with our collaboration before working together.

There are new green leaves on the ground around tangerine farm. I’m going to take a walk for seeing them in a moment.

You can realise that I often mention ‘the thing and the kid’ which mean I or not I. Whether I or not I, I can’t name about me. Therefore, I mention many times ‘the thing and the kid’ as main characters. Sometimes, we can’t explain even though something is clearly being existence. As if, some extremely tiny dust which we can’t see but, it should be separated and apart from the something. Then floating in the air..... What? Why do I want to become a stone? It is a good topic to talk in face one day.

당신께...

바람은 불고, 감귤 잎들이 바스락거리며 제 소리를

제 자신을 또는 어떤 그것을, 그리고 그것이 하는

아끼지 않고 내는 이른 아침입니다.

작업을 이해하려고 노력했던 시간들이 지나고,

나무배와 아이의 재는 바람을 타고 어디론가

지금 이 순간, 저는 저 또는 어떤 그것을 있는 그대로

다 사라졌고 저는 또 다른 아침을 마주합니다.

받아들입니다.

한 달여 동안 저는 제가 하고 싶은 작업에 몰입하다 이제야 서서히 한 발짝 물러나 작업들을 하나하나

제가 손을 내밀었을 때, 제 손을 잡아준 모든 예술가

다시 느끼고 있습니다.

분들, 도움을 주신 분들, 그리고 친구들께 깊이 감사드립니다.

이것은 제 실험의 과정들을 엮은 것으로 또 다른 제 작업 중 하나입니다. 제 여섯 번째 개인전에 다른

제 발 밑에 어느새 이름 모를 새싹들이 자라고 있네요.

장르의 예술가들과 비슷한 장르의 예술가들을 초대해

저는 그 새싹들을 보러 잠시 마실 다녀오겠습니다.

작업하는 것을 시도한 것은 저 자신을 더 많이 확장시킬 수 있는 또 다른 실험으로 그들에게 작업 전, 저를 그들 작업의 도구로 써달라는 부탁을

여기 곳곳에 그것이라는 것과 아이는 저 자신이기도 하고 아니기도 합니다. 그러므로 딱히 이름 지을 수 없는 그것이라 쓰고 있습니다. 무엇이라 말할 수 없지만 그러나 분명히 존재하는 그것, 마치 눈에 보이지 않는 먼지 또한 어딘가에서 떨어져 나와 떠다니는 것이 분명한 것처럼... 네? 제가 왜 돌이 되고 싶냐 고요? 그건... 만나서 이야기하기로 해요.

Kim, Jae Kyung (Artist) “If you are deep sadness, I would like to depict joyfulness...” She graduated BA Fine Art in Kyungpook National University in Daegu. She has had 7th solo exhibitions, many different group exhibitions, collaboration work with other artists and participated artist residency programmes in Korea. Now, she works briskly with her themed work, titled ‘Strolling‘. http://www.slobbie2.blog.me Yu Jin Gyu (Mime) “You look like a sacrifice who is offered to a deity. Soo! it touches a lot.” He has been working with mime for about over three decades. Doing performance with mime in Korea was just a barren land 30years ago. Hea In Joung (Author) “Take all mine away, if you want.” Her life itself became an literature. She has been travelling and writing all over the world for a long time. Her short stories ‘Father’ and ‘Leavings’ won the prizes in Quick Fictions App in the UK. The ‘Father’ participated in this whole month exhibition. Tibet, where people can hardly breathe in, I met her there and fell down. She saved my life because of the only one reason that I had an art bag. My life rescued by her which I had nothing to regret. 광활한 바닷가에서 태어나 분지 대구에 자리를

삶 그 자체가 문학이 되어버린 그녀는 오랫동안

잡고 사진작업을 하고 있다.

전 세계를 여행하며 글을 쓰고 있다.

이번 전시에서 모든 사진 그리고 영상을 담당했다.

단편소설 ‘아버지’, ‘남겨진 것들’로 영국 문단에 글을 발표했고, 이번 전시 동안 그녀의 글,

“이번 작업에서 저는, 끝이없는... 영원히 계속 진행중인 책을 만들고 싶습니다”.

티벳, 숨 쉬기 조차 힘든 그곳에서 난 그녀를 만났고... 그리고 쓰러졌다. 내가, 미술 가방을 들고

긴 호흡으로... 들숨 날숨을 천천히 바라보며

있다는 이유로, 그녀는, 그 때 끝내도 별 미련 없을

느릿느릿 한 발자국 한 발자국 곱씹으며 모래 언덕을

목숨 하나를 구했다.

걷는 낙타처럼. 그는 타인의 이야기 속으로 걸어 들어가 저 멀리

문학이 되어 버린 그녀.

반짝이는 별을 관찰하듯 그렇게 작업한다.

아침 밥상머리에서 철학과 문학 그리고 예술을 논 할 수 있는 사람.
