Target Audience

Above I have five different mood boards, the first one is about Huddersfield re-branding companies, second one is on the chosen company that had been selected by the group and myself, the third one is all about the target audiences, forth one mood board is on audiences reviews along with that I made other mood boards on; branding and packaging. I then went on to looking at different concepts on my own design.

Concepts

Here I have listed three different topics for the concept to help me re-brand this company that I have chose in the best way possible, without inconvenience, I have kept the concept very easy, simple and modest, so that my ideas don not get interacted and over crowed accompanied by that I have given myself some guidance on what I can include when doing the re-branding.

Logo Explanation

I had visualised my initial ideas by creating more mood boards on modern retro style, retro style typography and similarly on colour scheme beside that I looked at alternative branding packaging and various company logos. Then I started to design my own logo on Adobe Illustrator for Queenies Cafe. Here I have experimented with different cup shapes/designs for the logo that I will create to see which one works better as a logo. From the three designs I chose the third one that is because it is simple, sophisticating and not to complicated for the audience to understand. I personally like the third design reason being is because the strokes are fin and elegant to be seen on package branding and also it signifies the name of the coffee shop. I then had a look at the colour scheme, which shows the retro colour scheme to indicate the retro-ism and historic look; the design that I choose was tested out in two different combinations to see which sits well with one another. Lastly I found a colour that was appropriate, suitable and went well together, this was because the two colours that had been chosen were maroon and dark brown, additionally these to colours represented the retro colour scheme. Thenceforth I experimented with typography to write the name of the coffee shop that will be merged into a logo after it’s completed.

Experimenting On Logo’s

Here I experimented with different fonts by looking fonts by looking at my typography mood board that I created so it’s apposite and interesting by giving a retro look. I then had to create two version of typography colour scheme that was done because I thought the word Queenies could represent royalty so I choose the retro colour to represents the 90’s style. From the different colour schemes I finalised it by choosing the retro scheme, which I then applied to my logo. I used the same colour that I chose at the start maroon and dark brown, but in different font style so that I could compare and contrast before choosing the final logo.

Logos

Here I have experimented with geometrically patterns by using triangles as a shape and with that I was able to make a hexagon shape, which was done by linking the triangles together. By using the hexagon shape to brand the company and create a logo out of it for the Queenies coffee shop.

Pattern Work

These are three different examples for the back of the business card and loyalty card covers that will be branding for the queenies coffee shop.

Colour Palate

Q I have created a logo for Queenies, here I have repeated the shape various times to create a template of patterns to use for the branding. I have experimented with different layout of the pattern before continuing with a final pattern. At this point I decided to change the my coffee shop logo because I thought that I should design a logo that is different from other coffee shop logos as they are recognisable due to the traditional symbol of a coffee cup design and I want to make my logo more interesting. Therefore I decided to make the logo based on my pattern that represents a coffee cup but in a more curious way. I have also transferred my pattern onto the business card along with this I created a loyalty card to for the customers that visit the coffee shop regularly. Lastly the colour scheme I have chosen for the branding are maroon, red and grey the colour are shown above..

I have also transferred my pattern onto the business card along with this I created a loyalty card to for the customers that visit the coffee shop regularly and collect points. These are the stickers I’ve designer to stick onto my packaging such as the on the take-out bags and tissues, also I designed and created the cup holders with the design printed out on my branding equipment.

Final Branding

Here I have used my official branding patterns to brand the items that are in coffee shops, I have branded and also created take-out cups, in three different sizes, take out bags big and small, cup holds, tissues, business card, loyalty card menu and black board to write on. I made sure that all that patterns are consistent so that it goes together will all the branding stuff, the reason for that was so that it blends with the rest of the equipment. I wanted to keep everything simple and straight forward so its not over the top and get crowed with too much pattern work so that’s why I keep it all modest and less complex so each and ever element stands-out along individually.
