A MESSAGE FROM THE MBA CHAIRMAN Welcome to the 30th annual Master’s Basketball Tournament in South Florida and the sixth operated under the supervision of the Masters Basketball Association. We consider this tournament to be the premier seniors tournament in the United States and among the best in the world. This tournament would not exist today if Kevin McNamara had not stepped up six years ago to assure its continuance. Kevin’s support continues and he is ably represented on the Board of Directors by Lisa Reinhard. Make it a point to thank Kevin and Lisa when you see them in the gym. Kevin plays on the Vitas team in the 55’s. The Board of Directors has expanded and we are working diligently as a strong team to more effectively promote the tournament and to build a larger base of sponsors. Accordingly, we are cross advertising with other tournaments to encourage more competitors and teams. This year we have added a 75+ Division and have two teams entered. Finally, enjoy your week by acknowledging to yourself that your ability has eroded somewhat and displaying good sportsmanship towards the officials, opponents and your teammates. Do this in the spirit of those that were such a big part of this tournament the past 30 years and have passed on. Such good friends as Leroy Ellis; Jimmy Prichard; Sam Cohn; Bill Berringer, Flynn Robinson and Eric McDowell just to name a few. We are blessed every day that we get on the court!
