Christian Children’s Books Christian Work in India Passing the Baton Home Notes
Christmas 2013 What a relief to find the second growth on my vocal chords was nonmalignant! Thank you for your prayers. However, two operations have left me extremely hoarse, and I am having speech therapy. I see the th specialist again on Dec 17 who will insert a camera to check that nothing is growing back. Please pray for that. Next, I’ve agreed with my therapist, to gently begin public speaking again at Christmas God willing. Danielle’s been working hard, as there has been some overtime on offer at work, and with Christmas coming we’ve needed every penny. Elen loves her work in school, but sometimes finds it hard to cope when other children are –as she sees it – not kind. This may be due to the fact that she likes to play with the nursery children and be mum! Well, it’s one way to learn!
I should be away for one week at theological college in January; and I must begin to search for universities willing to let me continue my Pauline research to Dphil or Phd levels – and willing to pay a large bursary! Thank you, God bless and Merry Christmas!

Passing the Baton
A practical expression of what we teach in school.
As you know, I’ve been praying for some time to be able to pass on what I’ve learned over my years in school to new workers who are hungry to share God’s word and Christ’s love with school children. Kings church Newport currently have an expanding youth and child provision, and have invited me to help them as they prepare to reach out to their local primary schools. They have a good mixture of young and experienced volunteers and staff and I really think they’re on the right road. I hope my seminar with them on January 25th 2014 will be a springboard for some of them to launch into a God given ministry. In addition, I have given them an open ended commitment: not only in launching their schools work but also to help, advise, or train interns. PS I don’t charge for this – I’m supported by your generous gifts, and I wouldn’t dare to put a price on a child’s eternal future.
Please Pray For my tests at the hospital in December, my ongoing speech therapy and full recovery. For Danielle in her part time work at Morrison’s. For Elen, who sometimes comes home from school sad because of the meanness of school friends. For more new recruits! For future guidance, especially in my academic work.
Can you help us?
Passing the Baton continued
This roof is letting in the snakes!
I’ve visited a number of Newport primary schools in the past in connection with ICE Wales. I’m very pleased to say that Kings church is really open to work together with organizations like ICE and with all local churches.
This Christmas we’re looking for 100 people to pledge £20 each for this rebuilding project – or 10 churches each to pledge £200. Friends, I believe we can do this together! Let’s make a strong witness for Jesus Christ in the heart of India!
Please pray that everything will go well with this new opportunity, and that God will bless the volunteers, so that thousands of Newport children might hear the love of Jesus every week. And please also pray for more opportunities to pass the baton!
Cyclone Damage In the past we have raised funds for New Life Orphanage in AP India (AP registered 0011). When their roof was damaged Pastor John Moses contacted us for help, but when I insisted that a registered builder be consulted, he gave bad news. The building was not strong enough to hold a modern roof. So we have his quotation to completely re-build this 3 room orphanage which cares for 26 children: £2,225. .
I’m still working on ‘official’ paperwork so that everything is handled properly, but that shouldn’t take too long. So for the price of a Christmas jumper each, the children could have a brand new home early 2014. What a happy New Year!
