Why Seaside Collective?
By Email -
Why did we decide to participate in the competition to design the Seaside Collective? Easy answer! We stumbled upon the architectural brief as we both appreciate very much the work of the architect Alexis Dornier for its unique and environmentally concious architectural style. Indeed, as we are both coming from Politecnico di Torino and we are now continuing our master degree in Bogota Colombia with the University de los Andes, we seeked to apply some of our ideas and concept developed both in Italy and in Colombia. Upon reading the architectural brief we recognized ourselves and we were motivated to offer a project that would best fit the site and compliment the original idea that is behind the project of Tampah Hills.
Mathieu - math95.leroux@gmail.com
We are very grateful to have the opportunity to present to the jury our proposal where we have carefully studied the architectural heritage of Lombok and of Indonesia, the site and its surroundings, the needs of the potential users to design a sustainable, adaptable and environmentally friendly collective.

A typical tropical house benefits all the time of a non-stop ventilation that guarantee the optimal thermal indoors comfort. Solar rays make heat go closer to the roof edge and is expulsed through upper windows. Moreover cooling the buildings is easier thanks to the direct air flow between the lower floor and the soil, that permit the pavement no to be heated.
BIOCLIMATIC SYSTEM OF THE VILLA
Cross ventilation
The Malay house is a typical residential building of tropical countries, like Indonesia. This bioclimatic system work as the one of a general tropical dwelling, but the higher roof structure makes it keep cool indoor, without passing ventilation by the pavement. The use of semi-horizontal shadings allows spaces to be sun-protected and available all day long .
3. TOTALLY CLOSED When all the external and internal dividing elements are totally closed, spaces are reduced to their smallest areas.
Ventilation chimney
This happens when few people are living in the house, and not all its rooms have to be enlarged or engaged. Even if at this time the villa seems to be smaller, spaces keeping be adaptive as you want. So, just go inside and make it enjoyable, in this case, realxing activities are highly suggested.

It also present structural features that allow it to be used for all the structural lineal element of the villa, like beams and pillar. Shadings are made of wood too. 2) STONE, material of higher thermal capacities, available in the island as well. Stones reach higher levels of inertia so involving total protection against heat transmission. The use of this material is involved where the night time areas to resist the soil forces and increase the indoor comfort pleasure.

Description Walter Gropius is a German architect whose interests are related to new ways of thinking and living architecture, and he loves spending time with his family abroad. The seaside collective obviously offers several opportunities to him. First, the chance to deal with a tropical landscape and take inspiration or examples from it, Gropius actually loves “exotic stuffs. Second, the way of living a space completely changeable and differently available will make him curious about, thus probably challenging himself. Finally, as the villa is designed for a family, all the spaces are adaptable to each activities the family involved him to, so he will surely enjoy this new experience of life. Fortunately, the villaof the Seaside Collective offers just that. Paying with the interior partitions and the external shades would create different atmosphere to fit various activities and to control the internal thermal comfort of the villa. Indeed the cross wind is thought to cool down the house during hot days, but also thanks to the movable shades, Will may choose to get some more sun while taking his morning coffee as the terrace becomes an extension of the villa by opoening vertically the shades.

Description Fedez, Chiara Ferragni and their child Leone are the typical italian family of V.I.P. Fedez is a rapper singer, he likes to spend time with his family, and so does Chiara, who is a fashion blogger, as an important influencer has also several social network issues to attend too. Generally, the family love making video all together, showing their daily life as a normal non popular family, and people adore it! The villa would be a pleasant place for them. First, as it presents spaces for different activities to join with family, such as doing exercise, or being involved in children plays, due to its large spaces. Second, because of the possible spaces modification, both the influencer would be advantaged to have the privacy they need when in work sessions. PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK STUDENT VERSION
