A little about me is I love stickers, stickers, and let’s see… stickers. It’s funny because Miss President Alyssa Kline hates stickers LMAO. I also like graphic design, so I am very excited to be able to make this newsletter for you all! All in all, I hope all you key clubbers have had a wonderful Key Club year thus far! Please keep attending events and logging in service hours, so I have something to write about in our next newsletter edition! P R E S I D E N T S

HO-HO-HO, merry KEYristmas!! I can’t believe that it’s

N O T E

already the end of 2021 :0 I am SO, SO proud of what Mayfair Key Club has been able to accomplish this year. We have grown so incredibly much, and I KNOW that it’s only upward from here. I hope you have all made lasting friendships through key club, and if not, know that it’s never too late! We’ll still have plenty of service and social opportunities in January and February, including DCON!!! So, make sure to apply for end-of-the-year recognition, and let’s finish this year off strong :D HOWEVER…the end of this term does not mean the end of key club! The 2022-2023 term is just around the corner, and I hope every single one of you is inspired to apply (or run) for a position next year no matter your past experience. There is such a wide array of positions available from President, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and Member Recognition Chair on the club level, to Division Tech Editor, EA, and Division Fundraiser Coordinator on the Division Level. I encourage you to take this winter break to start thinking about one of these many positions!

Remember, I am always here for questions (whether it is about recognition or officer positions), so feel free text or email me over the break! I hope you all get the rest you deserve and tht you enjoy your winter break! Happy holidays, Mayfair monkeys <33 -

Boards message What’s swinging Mayfair Key Clubbers! My name is Kaithlyn De Guzman and I proudly serve as one of your fellow Hype Team members of this term! December has been a blast this month with all of the key club events happening and they all went by so fast. We first got to volunteer as helpers at the annual Lakewood Tree Lighting! It was so exciting to see our fellow monkeys help out at the booths! We also had our ice skating fundraiser at The Rinks! Even though I wasn’t there to experience it, I was so glad to see everyone having fun on the ice and skating around. I honestly wish I was there with you all to join in on the fun *sad face*. Finally, we had our special MKC Keyristmas Winter Feast set up by our lovely hype team coordinator Jia and our hype team members at the San Martin Park. This was our last event of the year before 2022 and we made it such a successful one! We played a bunch of fun games, ate some good food, did some fun karaoke, and had a raffle! I’m honestly so proud of us for planning out this event and making it the best one yet this month! I had such a great time at all the events with the people that I love the most, my Key Club family, and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for us. I love you all so much and I’ll see you all next year! GO GREEN MONKEYS!!!! <33

Boards message How apPEELing is it to be featured on this month's newsletter issue.... I'm Jillian Abigail Manuel Argano Lucero (Jia/Jamal/Jiarf), and I proudly serve as Mayfair Key Club's 1/2 Service Coordinator, Hype Team Coordinator, and as one of Division 13 North's Spirit Team members! To start off December, we had the holly jolly opportunity to volunteer at Lakewood Tree Lighting! Our members helped with setting up and running the game booths whilst listening to our very own high school show choirs: Showtime and Mariners. Mayfair Key Club also woke up so SO SOOOO early to volunteer at Bellflower Kiwanis Rose Float Parade Decorating at 6 AM... Zzzzzzzz.... but it was AMAZING to be working on the actual floats themselves for around 10 hours! The same exact day, we hosted an ICE SKATING FUNDRAISER at The Rinks in which we had around 44 people show up and support! I was honestly supporting from Disney on Ice... yup. To end off this year, Hype Team and I worked for hours to create our Mayfair KEYristmas Winter Feast, in which we had fun activities such as ABC Christmas Spell Out, Jolly Jeopardy, and Karaoke followed up with a very scrumptioulumpshous potluck. We also held a raffle in which DIANA won, and Hype Team and our very own Member Recognition Chair Stephanie De Guzman introduced our Member(s) of the Month who put in the work, put in the hours, who've grown and bloomed just like flowers, and you can say they're thing 1, thing 2, members of the month are ELIZABETH AND PENELOPE GILMORE, THAT'S WHO! Lizbeth and Penny are actually members of Hype Team, and let me tell you... they have grown so much as leaders since they first joined Key Club this year. I remember when they were extremely shy, but now they have grown to be social butterflies... maybe even monsters honestly. However, I cannot wait to see how far they grow as they progress as leaders in Key Club for the following years. Mayfair Key Club will forreal be in good hands. To end off, I am beyond proud of how far this club has made it since I was a freshman, to President and Executive Assistant, and passing it off to Alyssa Kline to help us reach greater heights. Now that this year is coming to an end, I hope you all eat good good food food and look forward to the start of a new year! I hate you all! HYPE'd to serve, - jillian abigail lucero. Service coordinator

Total Service Hours ! 934.35 hrs / 1200 hrs

Since the region 8 potluck, Mayfair key club has kept busy! On December 3rd, we volunteered at the Lakewood Tree Lighting and ran game booths for the city for 4 hours, and on December 8th, we held our last general meeting of the year. We have also attended Candidate Training conference (psst..our club had the most attendees!!) as well as the Divisions’ Bellflower Tree Lighting service event. Saturday, December 18th was JAMMED PACK with all day activities! We volunteered with the other Bellflower Kiwanis clubs to help decorate the Rose floats, and at night, we hosted a fundraiser at the lakewood ice skating rinks with a WHOPPING 49 attendees :0 Over break, we’ve held our KEYristmas party at San Martin park and also attended the Region’s Rose Float event! Overall, December has been packed, and we’re looking forward to a Sato x Mayfair interclub event after the winter break. We only have a few more hours to go to reach our service hour goal of 1500, so let’s keep up the good work WOOOOO! -Alyssa Kline, MKC President

M E M B E R (S) OF THE

MONTH Penelope (Penny) Gilmore !

Elizabeth (Liz) Gilmore !

I chose Penelope and Elizabeth for the month of December for being extremely active, dedicated members and for attending both home club and divisions events. Penelope and Elizabeth have by far been the most dedicated and active members I’ve seen. Not only do they have consistent attendance at general meetings but they’ve both attended many division and home club events. They both also attended Mario KaRTC (Region Training Conference) and Fall Rally South. Lastly, they also constantly advertise both club and division events. I’m beyond proud of these two and I truly believe they deserve this recognition! -Stephanie De Guzman, Member Recognition Chair
