EDITORS NOTE First of all, i’d like to apologize for not publishing a newsletter for the month of January. I had been thrown a lot of school work and editorial work for other things, so I unfortunately had to give up a few things to get everything done. I hope February’s newsletter makes up for it! Also, because we had to skip January, I’d like to say congrats to Jensen Lauti for becoming our new Key Club president :). You’ll do great, Jensen! Until March, everyone! - Markus Lim, Newsletter editor

Presidents note Just like that…February is done! We have just one month to go :,( We have made such huge strides this past month in preparing for the upcoming term. From our Sato Academy joint-event— our first interclub with a school outside of our Division!— to our week-long board trainings, we pushed out a last few (and very successful) events for our general members. Most importantly, we dove into our 2022-2023 elections! With so many candidates, we even had to extend our elections into the next week. I am so proud of a Mayfair community with SO many dedicated and passionate members. I admire each and every one of you for taking the next step in your Key Club Journey. If you didn’t get a chance to run for an Executive Position, keep in mind that Appointed applications are due in March! I am confident that each and every one of you will flourish in any officer position. Finally, I can’t help but flex our DCON attendance; by the end of registration, we had 12 attendees. That makes up more than half of our Division’s attendees! Let’s carry this motivation into our next term :) See you soon, Mayfair Monkeys! -Alyssa Kline, MKC president

My name is Estela Vasquez and I proudly serve as part of Mayfair’s very own Hype Team! During this month of February our home club hosted our Officer Elections (WOAHH) to elect the executive board for Mayafair Key Club! Bugg Mira, Stephanie De Guzman, and Elizabeth Gilmore are the Vice President Elects. Sariah Hills has been elected secretary and Jensen has been elected as our next President! Our home club held an interclub event, Mato Valentine’s Bash, with Sato Key Club where we had loads of fun playing games, making cards, and meeting new people! We also held a 7 Leaves fundraiser on the 25th and took club photos for the yearbook. Division 13 North held an inter-division event with D13W on the 12th as Soulmates in Service and a Panera Bread fundraiser Friday the 18th! The February DCM was held on the 26th where we spent the last DCM of the term playing babyshower games and having fun. All in all, I am so glad a lot of you were able to make it to Club events and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in this upcoming term! I’m proud of what we have all accomplished and done! I love you all so very much so keep being Material Gorwls and attend events <3 I want to see all your lovely faces :) Kiwanianly, -Estela Vasquez, Hyper Active Monkey Member

WHAT'S SWINGING MAYFAIR KEY CLUB!!! My name is Kadyn Esguerra and I proudly serve as one of your Hype Team members this term! As you know, this term is coming to an end and to prepare for that, our home club has held the officer elections. I realized how much dedication each position had in their own ways. I thought it was very cool. I always saw how big of a commitment it would be if you were to be president but then after attending the officer training meetings I realized how committed you would actually have to be when taking the president position, so props to all current and past presidents of Key Club. I’m so very proud of each candidate who ran for office for the following term. And I’m highly proud of our new elected board members. I know our club will be put in good hands. On some non-election related stuff we also held a valentine’s day event with Sato Key Club. The event had a fun game and I met new people and sang karaoke (btw if you were there I'm so sorry my voice wasn’t working that day). On the divisional level we had the Soulmates in Service event, February DCM and I know both events were great fun despite the fact that I was unable to attend. Also, DCON is soon approaching so I highly suggest attending (I can’t go though so I’ll be there in spirit). We also had a fundraiser at 7 leaves (tbh coulda been better but boba is boba so I’m chill with it). On a final note, as the end of the term approaches, we are all sad but this just means new opportunities and new people for the next term. Looking back at the past events I see how great this club is going to thrive in the future and I’m excited to see it happen. This new experience has truly been joyous and exciting as we endure new things as a club. I have learned many things in this past month and gained many friendships. My first experience as a member of Key Club is truly something memorable in my book and I will surely create more long lasting memories with this club in our future terms. I’m so excited to see the future of this club and I hope to see all of y’all next term and hope to see some new faces as well! -

TOTAL SERVICE HOURS DECEMBER SERVICE HOURS 32/50 hrs

H While O we had U Few service R hour opportunities s this month, we have still been able to accomplish so much! Our main event in February was our interclub with Sato Academy where we made valentines for our school administrations. It was definitely a heartwarming and relaxing service event :3 Looking back on our year of service, I want to give a shout-out to our two service coordinators, Jia and Andrew! It was definitely a struggle transitioning from online to in-person events, but our service coordinators have handled it exceptionally well. With our hard work, I am proud to say that we have accumulated over 1,100 service hours for the 2021-2022 term! Thank you for making a difference in your community :) 5

Kaithlyn de guzman ! I chose Kaithlyn De Guzman for the month of February for being an active, dedicated member and for having consistent attendance at general meetings. Kaithlyn attended our Mato Valentine’s Bash interclub event and recently supported our 7leaves fundraiser! Kaithlyn’s also always been a dedicated member throughout the term, attending a handful of division and club events! Lastly, she consistently attends our general meetings and continues to always stay updated. For these reasons, I think Kaithlyn is very much deserving of this recognition for everything she’s done throughout the term! 6

MAYFAIR KEY CLUB 22’ - 23’ ELECTIONS AHAHH the key club elections were a great experience, and I had a really hard time voting because everyone was so great. It’s no surprise that all the returning officers were so considerate and welcoming too (not that I expected anything less :) Everyone had great things to say, and the atmosphere there was just MWAH - jasmeen kaur, general member

Oh hi.. I think we had an event with sato key club at some park in lakewood. It was fun, like we folded cards and crafts and made gifts for our teachers. Tbh I don’t even know where those gifts are now but the candy they had there was good… also I was in charge of this basketball station and . My face got hit by a basketball. other than that it was fun… i got Thai tea afterwards. - andrew kim, service coordinator
