The 71st Annual Awards American Society for Public Administration recognize and honor individuals and organizations that have had a significant impact in the public administration realm. This year, Mayor Deborah Robertson was honored for her public service work through the Earl Warren Outstanding Public Service Award. Tonia Jackson introduced the room of leaders to our very own from Rialto. When the Mayor received her award, she reflected on her past career at Caltrans, her current exciting career as Mayor, and how she has become the individual she is presently. As a civic leader who has made outstanding contributions to government in our region, Mayor Robertson is a justifiable merit for this award. Congratulations Mayor Robertson!

The U.S. Conference of Mayors Inaugural Youth Summit The first-ever Mayors National Youth Summit was held in Los Angeles from July 25-27th. Over 30 mayors, 20 states represented, and 100+ youth leaders participated in this legendary conference. Mayor Robertson invited eight of her own youth leaders to represent the city of Rialto. At the conference, youth leaders engaged in discussions regarding city youth councils, youth townhall programs, and fostering youth voter engagement. This allowed for youth leaders to understand the challenges associated with increasing youth participation in politics and the best ways to execute activities that involve the youth. Thank you to the City of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti for hosting and to Mayor Deborah Robertson for taking the first step to get our youth involved to amplify their voices.
