emotions. Your positivity holds

W W W. M B E F O RYOU. C O M

2. FOCUS ON GOOD THINGS: Focusing on good things irrespective of how small they are will keep your motivations for success and for your future mission. There is no such thing like a perfect day. In most circumstances you have to make the day perfect with measures of positivity. Not only focusing on little things, but ‘LITTLE’ and ‘GOOD’ at the same time will help you in your goals especially if you are a leader and want to make a mark through sound leadership. Your vision should be a huge priority in the eyes of your team. Small things means what’s left for you while not looking back and thinking what you have lost. There is no point of crying over spilt milk, as it is useless for you in terms of the drinking aspects. If you are back from work after a long tiring day, and shopping in a store looking for your favorite meal, the non-availability of the meal doesn’t mean that you will be sleeping without having anything to eat. Lookout for alternatives and you will be feeling more accomplished after a long day of hard work. Success is definitely there for those who have a focus on good things and keep looking for ways to encounter small issues.

3. FINDING HUMOUR IN BAD SITUATIONS: Finding humor in situations that are bad will definitely relax your mindset and your heart will feel better. You might have seen the darkest hour in your life, but your humor or a light moment can make things easy for you so that you can proceed further and come out of the situation smiling. Later on you will get out of the situation, you will definitely laugh at what happened and how it was encountered by you by just laughing it off. If it’s a really bad situation, your positive smile will act as a shield in your down & unwanted circumstances. Therefore, it’s in your hands to change the situation as your focus towards your success must stay active.

4. FIND POSITIVE FRIENDS MENTORS, & CO-WORKERS: For future success targets and positive results, the best thing is finding positive friends, mentors and Co-workers. Positive friends are always good for their vision and their positive approach far more than negative people who are highly immune to disturb your feelings and levels of motivations. Making mentors always helps in bringing you closer to your future targets & your visions. It helps in igniting a visionary approach in your strategy at work, and while you move like a train towards your success agendas. Similarly, a good rapport is mandatory with the Co-workers as they are key in a successful journey. Good working relationships are also very important for discipline and ethics at the workplace.

the iPad, increased 26% last quarter compared with a year earlier which was attributed to the increased industry demand on remote work, learning and leisure. Apple said that revenue from the device rose 31% during the April to June period compared with a year ago. An update to its mid-price iPad could boost sales further among buyers looking for a more affordable option. The new smartwatch could help strengthen Apple’s already dominant market position. Estimates are that Apple has 53% of the global market of like devices last quarter. Revenue in the North American wearables market remained flat during the period despite shipments of devices rising 10%. Low end activity trackers fueled that increase with estimates that Apple shipped 3.2 million watches in the past quarter in North America, an increase of 9% from a year earlier. The growth was attributed to a 30% boom in the lower version of Apple’s line, the Watch Series 3. Apple has evolved the smartwatch which first went on sale in 2015, from a heavily emphasized fashion accessory to a device more focused on health and fitness, both attributes are expected to be beefed up in the newest version. The ability to track blood oxygen, skin temperature and breathing rate are among the hot features in smartwatches at the moment. Health care and fitness are top of mind for consumers right now, so an updated watch that addresses those features will prove popular for Apple. Consumers are increasingly looking for devices that can reliably track their basic health and surface problems as early as possible. Despite the potential for the watch and iPad, many will be looking for clues about the next iPhone. The potential for the next generation of iPhones is enormous. Almost 40% of the 950 million iPhone

Government Programs and Regulations RRSP Home Buyers’ Plan Program The Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) is a program under which you can, generally, withdraw up to $35,000 from your registered retirement savings plan (RRSPs) to buy or build a qualifying home. Withdrawals that meet all applicable HBP conditions do not have to be included in your income, and your RRSP issuer will not withhold tax on these amounts. However, before you can withdraw funds you must have entered into a written agreement to buy or build a qualifying home which you must occupy no later than one year after buying or building the home. You cannot withdraw an amount from your RRSP under the HBP if you or your spouse owned the home more than 30 days before the date of your withdrawal.

receiving security updates eroding national security. The U.S. Justice Department lawyers said Chinese companies are not purely private and are subject to intrusive laws compelling their co-operation with intelligence agencies. They also argued that the economic regulations of this nature are not subject to First Amendment scrutiny. “This is the most immediate national security threat” argued the Justice Department lawyer. It is a risk today and therefore it deserves to be addressed today even while other things are ongoing and playing out. They also claimed that Tik Tok lawyers failed to prove the company would suffer irreparable business harm. Trump set the process in motion with executive orders in August that declared Tik Tok and another Chinese App, We-Chat are threats to national security. The White House says the video service is a security risk because the personal information of its millions of U.S. users could be handed over to Chinese authorities. Trump has given his tentative approval to the proposed deal in which Walmart and Oracle could initially own a combined 20% of a new U.S. entity, Tik Tok Global. Trump also said he could retract his approval if Oracle does not have total control of the company. The deal remains unsigned and the two companies appear at odds over the corporate structure of Tik Tok Global. Bytedance, the Chinese Company that owns Tik Tok, said it will still own 80% of the U.S entity after a financing round. All the while, Oracle put out a statement that Americans will be the majority owner and Bytedance will have no ownership in Tik Tok Global. Government owned media in China have criticized the deal as bullying and extortion. Bytedance has applied for a Chinese technology export license after Beijing tightened control over exports last month in an effort to gain leverage over Washington‘s attempt to force an outright sale of Tik Tok to U.S. owners. Chinese Foreign Ministry has said the government will take necessary measures to safeguard its companies but gave no indication what steps it can take to affect Tik Tok’s fate in the U.S. Bytedance said the President does not have the authority to take these actions under the national security law. They claim the ban violates Tik Tok’s First Amendment speech rights and Fifth Amendment due process rights. They claim there is no authority for the restrictions because they are not based on a national emergency.

INTERVIEW WITH AMIT PURI

TOPIC: CURRENT MORTGAGE SITUATION IN CANADA AND EFFECTS OF COVID PANDEMIC ON MORTGAGES IN TIME TO COME Q1. The real estate market is quite active, the rates are low, what is the effect of these 2 factors on the Mortgage market now? Rates are at an all-time low, G20 countries are all borrowing money from the world bank and IMF leading to historic low rates. This puts pressure on real estate, as more buyers enter the market. Demand remains high and supply stable. With reduced housing starts and inflationary issues, prices will rise.

Q2. Due to Low rates it looks like more buyers will be buying properties in time to come: What are your suggestions to these buyers regarding mortgage approvals? Always get your mortgage approved before even looking

It is because of the way it increases the customer’s confidence in your brand. Being philanthropic means you are very closely associated to the CSR values i.e. Corporate Social values that holds vital in the longer run.

PROBLEM SOLVING THE RELEVANT ISSUES: Communicating often and effectively is an essential element on the way the brand is helping its consumers face the challenges. Even in these uncertain times brands are highly aware of the way problem solving should be dealt with. The provision of real and tangible solutions in this hour of need shows consumers that you practice what your preaching are. Not only for good problem solving concerns, is this highly detrimental for gathering consumer’s trust in future.

FORESTS & WETLANDS CANADA- A KEY PART OF THE ECOSYSTEM: While we discuss further the ecosystem in Canada, we must know that the forests in Canada covers a huge land of the whole area of Canada, i.e. 40% of the area. These are huge figures for a country that is massive in area, 2nd only to Russia in forest percentage to area, and total covered area. This area is a huge 347 million hectares and accounts for approximately 9% of the total World’s forests. Forests are a great source of natural resources as they provide food, timber, medicines and other less obvious services. These services that are claimed to be less obvious includes carbon sequestration, climate regulation and water filtration. The wetlands in Canada also play huge part in their ecosystem known formally as ecology. It covers over approximately 150 million hectares in Canada or 15% of Canada and a huge quarter i.e. 25% of the World’s Wetlands. Doesn’t seem huge in writing but the fact is a quarter is a huge amount if compared to the rest of the World’s Wetlands. These are essential resources for water filtration, water flows, and obviously flood control. Flood control and water flows are a major part of the environmental sustainability aspects in Canada that needs higher amounts of annual investments.

ECOSYSTEM AT RISK IN CANADA & DAMAGE CONTROL MEASURES: The risks associated in Canada to the eco-system are huge as the impacts associated with the risks can be heavy. The Canadians, however, may not be aware of the amount of risks their eco-system are facing. These risks includes the loss of fish and the animals to hunt. Also, includes the flowering plants that helps in delivering functions for the pollinators as well as many of our crops. Therefore, reducing the huge amount of risks and impacts that are faced by our ecosystem is highly critical. This is so that the citizens keep enjoying the goods and services provided in the ecology. Other major resources from the Ecosystem at risk are the Wet lands. The role of the Wet lands is huge in flood and erosion control, therefore it’s necessary to invest in sustainability projects for the Wet lands. They also play a major part in pest management, groundwater recharge and retention, pollution abatement and the key maintenance of biodiversity. They are also key recreational assets that are used in Canada for bird watching and waterfowl hunting. The losses needs to be controlled as it would lead to huge costs for the region. These costs are in terms of damage and maintenance due to flooding. Other key investments that needs doing are for the sake of damage control measures when flooding are expected.

opportunities. Canada is truly a land of opportunities, however, the current circumstances have made things a bit hard for immigrants, especially, in bigger cities of Canada. Immigrants needs to know in particular that smaller cities are also well equipped like bigger ones and they can also offer excellent job opportunities. In fact, in most circumstances they can have better opportunities to settle down, as living costs are lower than what they are in bigger cities of Canada. This automatically gives higher growth opportunities to people as what they dream for their future while stepping in Canada. Facts have shown that Canada’s unemployment rate stands at 5.7% which is a historically low figure. The factors being an aging population and a low birth rate. Talking in terms of the larger cities, the unemployment rates of the key destinations for fresh migrants are as follows, Toronto 5.6%, Montreal 6.0%, Calgary 7.1% and Vancouver 4.8%. Other major factors for immigrants settling in smaller cities are the housing affordability, and living standards. In the two most appealing cities, i.e. Toronto and Vancouver, both are highly appealing, however, the cost of living is very high. Comparatively, in recent years irrespective of COVID-19, the two cities have become slightly less affordable cities, especially due to increase in migrant population.

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY & LIFE QUALITY ASPECTS: However, comparatively speaking in terms of housing affordability, average rent for two-bedroom apartments is about $900 in Moncton, $600 in Trois-Rivieres, $1,300 in Ottawa-Gatineau, $1200 in Winnipeg, and finally $1,100 in Saskatoon. All these cities are affordable in terms of housing affordability and quality of life. As far as income levels are concerned, even earning lesser than average earnings of Toronto and Vancouver won’t drastically affect the quality of life.

connected to the company’s purpose and its sustainable mission. Hence, re-communicating the vision can also empower productivity to higher levels within the team.

LET YOUR EMPLOYEES BE MORE OPEN IN ASKING QUESTIONS: It’s one of the tasks of the motivated leadership to let their employees be more open to questions. Asking questions will definitely help the team players clear their doubts regards to any project or a key task or mission. The team players in the company can easily see what’s on everyone else’s mind if they keep a question/answer question. In case of a high-performing team the best thing is that that questions will be productive, meaningful, and in the right direction and attitude.

MIXING UP YOUR DELIVERY CHANNELS: Mixing up the delivery channels in times of the pandemic COVID-19 is a huge measure that will boost the employee in a friendly team environment. Therefore, a team environment in COVID-19 shouldn’t get boring, otherwise there will be more ways to get pressurized at work than working in a chill environment. The various delivery channels & communication medium includes, ZOOM, Skype, Facebook, & WhatsApp and a variety in the usage is highly attached to the psychological reasons. Change is the best recipe according to many pundits from Work from home. It is indeed the spice of life and something that can increase the disturbed motivational attitude of some or many team players. This is primarily related to aspects of change management in a company.

TELLING RELATED & REAL STORIES: Telling stories that are related to the events and happenings holds huge amount of interest for team players and boosting their emotional intelligence aspects. Similar scenarios of the past related to stories of the real world corporate culture and examples are taken as productive case studies to resolve issues. COVID-19, a unique and latest pandemic is one of its kind and demands a huge variety and flexibility in the attitude of the leaders. As it’s the sole responsibility of the leaders to create a ladder for their team while leading & motivating for future agendas.

and exercises in gym that are for the particular reason of losing weight. This is since decades that doctors have been telling their patients to eat less and exercise more to burn calories. Hence, according to the guidelines it can get a bit more complex, and definitely more factors needs addressing. Overdoing can result in imbalance between the energy in-take and exertions in form of exercises. Therefore, it can cause its own complications that can be dangerous in future. The health guide for weight loss issues has recommended that the waist circumference that is used in conjunction with the BMI would make more accurate readings. This is apart from the studies of patient’s family history and other health histories. A similar guide like we have been discussing is the Edmonton obesity staging system. This guide incorporates metabolic, physical and psychological parameters for the diagnosis of obesity. It is also a comprehensive guide for the recommendations of the best treatments for obesity.

THE IN-ACCURACIES ATTACHED TO BMI: The most correct definition for obesity as it is defined as the condition where the excess body fat has negative impacts on the person’s health. Also, includes various environmental, genetic and the socio-economic factors that can influence this condition. BMI also known as the Body Mass Index, is a powerful tool for the determination of the healthy weight of a person. Hence, this is categorized into class 1, class 2 and class 3. Class 1 being in the range of (30-34.9), class 2 being (35-39.9) and class 3 (over 40). The drawbacks associated with the tool has been identified time and again and these includes inaccurate results. It doesn’t account for muscle mass and can also lead to bias when taking the other measurements into account. BMI’s calculations can lead to people’s demotivation as in reality they might not be that obese, however the BMI would make them show more obese. Especially, for overweight people it can be the tool that can have negative impacts on an individual’s psychologies of change. Ironically, a huge part of change management program regards to the weight loss is highly attached to a positive change psychology. It would automatically make you look younger and fitter.

THE POPPY- A GLOBAL SYMBOL: The Poppy is a global symbol of the Remembrance Day that is a red flower worn by people on their coats. Poppy marks the remembrance all over the world, especially in USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. It shows solidarity with those who were affected and those who lost their lives in World War I especially. Hence, the significance attached, especially on Remembrance Day, is for the sacrifice that they made for their nations and for their children and grandchildren. The symbolism of the blood-red flowers was beautifully captured by an Army Officer, John McCrae in his 1915 poem “In Flanders Field”. 11th November, also marks the official signing of the agreement known officially as “Armistice” i.e. the peace agreement. The agreement was officially signed by the Allies and Germany at Compiegne, France. On 1st March 2018, an Act was amended known as the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day) received Royal ascent making 11th November as a legal holiday throughout Canada. This official and legal holiday in Canada truly marks the huge amount of prestige and tribute that is attached to the victims of the First World War.

leadership and the workers share an aligned and comprehensive understanding of the core values.

THE COST OF QUALITY: The Cost of Quality (COQ) is an essential element and a way of measuring the costs that are highly associated with ensuring that Quality Management is implemented in an organization. The four types of Quality related costs that are associated are as follows;

1. Prevention Costs: These are known as prevention costs and are a result of designing and implementing a QMS i.e. Quality management System. These costs are also incurred in the prevention of Quality problems from arising. The costs includes Quality Assurance, Quality Planning & Quality training.

2. Internal Failure Costs: The costs that are known more commonly as internal failure costs. These costs arise when the manufacturer finds quality failures when the products or services are delivered to the customers. The costs also includes the activity required for the diagnosis of the cause of Quality failures.

3. External Failure Costs: One of the most expensive costs that arise due to external failures. These costs occur usually after the products or services have been delivered to the customers. The costs includes, repairs, warranty claims, returns, and finally dealing with the complaints of customers.

4. Appraisal Costs: The appraisal costs, part of the production process are due to measuring the effectiveness of the QMS. These are costs that applies to both the manufacturers and the Supply Chain.
