CANADA’S EMPLOYMENT SCENARIOS & JOBS IN DEMAND IN 2021
EDITOR'S LETTER Dear Readers, February is here with our 62nd edition of MBE Business Magazine. February is among the country's coldest months, with lows in many places averaging well below 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). We are unable to celebrate winter festival and ski season due to the Covid-19 pandemic but we will be observing Family Day while celebrating National Flag Day and Valentine's Day during this month. Family Day celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities. Valentine’s Day is the day to share love and warmth among each other. In this issue we have covered the history of our greatest Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald (1815-1891). He was the first national democratic leader not only in Canada but the entire world to extend the vote to women. Sir John A. Macdonald was Canada's first prime minister and was knighted for his efforts in bringing about Confederation. His role in creating Canada and the realization of his dream to build a transcontinental railway, have fixed his place as a nation-builder in Canadian history. You will find this issue just as interesting and informative as before. Our team have worked tirelessly to bring this issue to you on our digital and social media platforms. We have also launched our magazine website as well so it will reach the maximum number of people via the electronic media as well. Your feedback is highly valuable to us. If you have suggestions or comments, feel free to call us at 1-866-667-1377 or email us at info@mbeforyou.com to tell us what you think about this issue. For ad placements and marketing related queries, please email us at digitalmedia@mbeforyou.com Thank you, Aurora Zabala, Editor In Chief.

In the 1970’s, when safety, fuel economy and emissions regulations required massive plant retooling and threatened to leave Canada’s auto sector behind, government pushed to ensure that the sector receive its fair share of this investment, including Ottawa and Ontario’s 1978 $68 million incentive to secure what became Ford Essex $535 million engine plant, still in operation today. Then in the wake of Chrysler’s 1980 near collapse, the Canadian government persuaded the firm to reinvest in its Windsor plant in exchange for supporting the company through loan guarantees. Since then, Windsor has built more than 15 million minivans and became one of the company’s most important global facilities. In the mid 1980’s, Japanese manufacturers decided to establish plants in the United States, with Canada potentially being bypassed for billions of dollars of future investment. Valentine's Day is an opportunity for people in Canada to tell somebody that they love them in a romantic way. It falls on February 14, the name day of two saints, St Valentine of Rome and St Valentine of Terni. In pre-Christian times, the middle of February was a time of pagan fertility festivals in Europe and allegedly the time when birds chose a mate. The national flag of Canada was inaugurated on February 15, 1965. The anniversary of this date is officially called the "National Flag of Canada Day", which is often shortened to "Flag Day". Although National Flag of Canada Day is not a public holiday, businesses and schools may be closed because it falls on the same date as Islander Day in 2021, which is a public holiday in Prince Edward Island.
Family Day is observed in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick on the third Monday of February. In British Columbia, Family Day falls on the second Monday of February. This holiday celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities.
Many Christians in Canada mark Ash Wednesday as the first day of Lent. It is the beginning of the Lenten fast and is the day after Shrove Tuesday. Ash Wednesday is not a public holiday. Businesses have normal opening hours.

MBE BUSINESS MAGAZINE FEBRUARY 2021
Purim marks the Jewish people’s deliverance from a royal death decree around the fourth century BCE, as told in the Book of Esther. Many Jewish Canadians celebrate it on the 14th day of the month of Adar in the Jewish calendar, which is in February or March in the Gregorian calendar.
Many people in the Yukon, Canada, celebrate the territory’s Heritage Day, usually held on the Friday before the last Sunday of February. Yukon Heritage Day is a public holiday in Yukon, where it is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.

work differently in varying parts of the country. The pharmacies outreach comes has they have embraced an increasing role in public health in recent years, expanding their businesses beyond just filling prescriptions. The result has been a new area of growth for the pharmacies bottom lines as they include vaccines and other basic health services such as travel health consultations among their offerings.
Jeff Leger, president of Shoppers Drug Mart said the role of the pharmacist has been changing. Pharmacies experience with distributing vaccines means they have already figured out many of the logistical challenges associated with the COVID-19 shots from keeping the doses cold in transit to ensuring that pharmacists are properly trained in how to administer them. Pharmacies also have a digital notification system in place for communicating with their clients, which could be useful for staying in touch with vaccine recipients, the vast majority of whom will have to return for a 2nd shot about a month after their initial dose. Consumers may ultimately prefer receiving their shot at a nearby pharmacy instead of a larger clinic. Pharmacies have become the default option for many people looking to get vaccines, a shift from a decade ago when people mostly got them at doctor’s offices. The shift in attitudes could make pharmacies an attractive distribution channel, since governments will want to make the vaccination process as frictionless as possible to encourage people to go. Convenience is a big thing when you’re vaccinating people. An alternative to using pharmacies would be to offer the vaccine at a smaller set of locations run by provincial health authorities, similar to how COVID-19 testing has been administered in Canada. It could be a cheaper and more efficient to distribute the vaccine that way, since it would cut down on the logistical costs of delivering the dose to more locations. Having pharmacists inject the vaccine as opposed to public health workers would also be more expensive since they are paid on a per shot basis.

However, it is much expected in 2021 that recruitment policies can change for the betterment of the Canadian people. The sufferings in 2020 were mostly linked up with the so-called credit crunch and many people working from home. Therefore, to encounter the impacts of COVID-19, the Govt. of Canada will be opening new desirable positions and shall be hiring more talented employees. This restoration in the Canadian economy came as a necessary measurement as Canada has been dented highly from the impacts of the global pandemic very recently.
EMPLOYEES CHANGING BEHAVIOURS DURING & POST PANDEMIC: The behaviors of employees prior to the second wave of the pandemic COVID-19 in July and August have changed significantly. According to a recruitment agency survey known as Hays Canada showed the level of restlessness of many employees. A huge 21% of the employees are planning to switch their jobs in the next three month, i.e. Oct & Nov 2020. Hence, yet another 17% of employees are planning the same, i.e. switch of job in the year 2021. According to the President of Hays Mr. Travis, Obviously, there have been many layoffs, however, but work still needs doing, therefore, there might be work but no extra compensation. A huge number of employees are working from home, and that’s why lots of people are feeling the sense of isolation and being lonely. His concern was clear regards to the job opportunities for those looking for greener pastures, and especially for those laid off. Ironically, the layoffs happened due to the pandemic COVID-19 and its obvious effects on the economy of Canada. The retraining program announced by the Govt. of Canada is worth $77 million will give preferences for the people who were laid off due to the pandemic COVID-19. The program provides a huge $28K per person, covering the tuition fees, the training material and the living expenses. While the participants are enrolled in the program, they can still receive national insurance from the Govt.
THE JOB SECTORS IN DEMAND IN 2021: According to the Job experts in Canada, there will be people needed as personal support workers, for e.g. as wholesale Sale reps., IT support technicians and production logistics coordinators. Therefore, ironically jobs in the sectors of Operations and Supply Chain Logistics, IT/Quality assurance, Sales, Business Development & Customer Support and the Retail management sector are the most expected & wanted ones. Apart from these sectors hospitality & tourism industry will bounce back rapidly in terms of job opportunities in Canada post COVID-19 era. Hence, this is expected as a significant bounce back from the travel & tourism industry Canada.

unemployment rate in Canada that is increasing on a daily basis. Political factors are indeed the major cause of the decline & sudden rise in immigration levels, especially in provincial segregation.
2. DEMOGRAPHICS & ECONOMICS: The need of people in Canada is an economic necessity and is indeed needed due to low population density in some huge Provinces in Canada. The country is huge in area, and on top of this Canada has one of the World’s oldest population. Furthermore, they also have the lowest birthrates, which means they need people to balance their economy. For the sustenance of economic growth Canada need more people in their country on an annual basis, and figures must rise significantly.
3. GLOBAL CIRCUMSTANCES: More frequently the factor that influences immigration levels is due to ‘Global circumstances’. An example of the global circumstances is the current pandemic COVID-19, which has impacted the immigration levels in Canada to a huge extent. Being a member of the international community Canada is obliged to assist when there is Humanitarian crisis involved.
4.CANADA’S PROCESSING CAPACITY: The processing capacity of migrations on an annual basis is yet another key factor that determines the levels of migrations taking place in a certain year. The country has shown immense improvement in the processing capacity in recent years by implementing the Express Entry application management system. ‘Express Entry’ as the name suggests is a fast and more reliable process.

helps in making it a daily act instead of being casual. The goal is to develop exercise as a habit that is practiced on a daily basis rather than being a casual activity.
2. THE ART OF MEDITATION: Developing the habits and art of meditation is a key while developing regular habits for the reduction of anxiety and stress. Meditation is a means of finding peace while closing your eyes and concentrating hard for 15-20 minutes with a posture in Yoga. It relaxes your brains with calming waves and helps in reducing your anxiety levels and making you calmer. Develops a powerful sub-conscious in your mind while lowering the levels of stress that you have been undergoing.
3. TALKING TO YOUR LOVED ONE: Talking to your loved ones always helps in your stress relief and brings you closer to people while you feel secure from the inside. Either having a chit chat on Facebook, or a habit of talking to your closed ones on the phone will always be a positive habit to adapt. This makes you realize that you have people with whom you can share your ideas and your thoughts. A habit that will help in controlling your anxiety levels and reducing work pressures as well. Make it a habit and you will feel good while being with people along with bringing reductions in your stress levels.
4. GOOD SLEEPING HABITS: Another habit that needs to be adopted for the reduction of anxiety levels is having good sleep habits. There holds a strong relationship between sleep and anxiety that can easily affect your daily life and routine tasks. The maintenance of a regular sleep cycle is part of the good sleep hygiene which most people can regularly maintain if they are working 9-5 daily. To develop good habits of sleep it gets necessary to avoid consumption of caffeine, alcohol or heavy meals at night before sleeping. It’s also good for the heart and obviously helps in encountering mental health issues. Insomnia, or sleep disorder can worsen the symptoms of anxiety disorder and prevents recovery of a mental condition. Developing good sleeping habits can also help in encountering sleeping issues & syndromes like hypersomnia, insomnia or sleep apnea. All of them are sleep related issues that can cause the increase in hypertension and anxiety levels.

for Canada is a complete roadmap for a much healthier and more sustainable food system in Canada. The Canadian Govt. is playing its vital part very actively as they know the hazards that relates to the environment due to food waste. It’s also part and parcel of the Govt’s ambitious agenda to work for the support of the food business owners, stakeholders related to food businesses & the hard-working farmers of Canada. Canada’s food policy is deigned in such a way that it will significantly help the country meet its requirements under the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Part of these goals is the oath of the Govt. to reduce hunger, promotion of good health & safe environment, cut down food waste to higher extent and finally encourage sustainable food systems. It’s the vital commitment of the country Canada to the UN’s agenda of 2030 for Sustainable development. According to the agenda of UN halve per capita global food waste at the retail sector and the consumer levels. Apart from this useful reductions in food losses during productions & supply chains. This also includes the post-harvest losses, and needs to be attained in a period of decade, i.e. by 2030.
