LadyBugs and Stink Bugs by David Jones Both lady bugs and stink bugs will soon be emerging from their winter sleep. Depending on one’s viewpoint, these critters can be pests or just nuisances. The lady bug’s cute appearance often encourages us to save them. And, as they can be beneficial in spring and summer, people should make every effort to save them in brown paper bags until it’s safe to release them into their gardens. However, some people suffer from allergic reactions to them and it may be unwise to try and trap them for future release. If that is the case, a safe and natural treatment may be necessary to control the population. Stink bugs, on the other hand, don’t have much to offer. They can produce an awful stink when crushed and will eventually damage most fruits and vegetables in our gardens. Treatment for them is much the same as lady bugs.
