PROTOTYPE DESIGN LAB WORKSHOPS NEW! *Yard and Garden Metal Art
With today's technology, more and more people use a plasma cutter for their own home DIY projects and for creating their own works of art. Many artists utilize plasma cutting as their means to create art pieces from steel. A plasma cutter uses a plasma torch to cut metal pieces. Once the design is cut, participants can weld stakes or fasteners to their art for display in the yard. This can be put into a powder coating oven to complete the art with a high-quality, durable finish. Cost of materials is included in tuition. Fort Omaha Campus, Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology, Building 24, 5300 N. 30th St. WIDX677A SA 06/18-06/25 01:00P-03:00P $65
NEW! *Basics of 2D Design for UV Printing Use your creative skills to make a 2D design that can be printed on many kinds of surfaces. UV printing is a form of digital printing that uses ultraviolet lights to dry or cure ink as it is printed. As the printer distributes ink on the surface of a material, specially designed UV lights follow close behind, curing or drying the ink instantly. This course focuses on the design aspects using Corel Draw and Roland software. You can print on objects up to 4 inches deep, including glass, fabric, golf balls, laptops, cell phones, etc. Bring the material you want to use for accurate measurements. Cost of supplies are included in the tuition. Fort Omaha Campus, Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology, Building 24, 5300 N. 30th St. WIDX678A SA 07/16 11:00A-01:00P $75
NEW! *Basics of 2D Design for Vinyl Printing Make T-shirts, signs, wall art and more on our vinyl cutter. Do you like wall phrases and signs but the phrase is not what you want? Embellish your walls or signs with custom decals or murals. Wall decals or phrases can be used to decorate your spaces such as the bathroom, office, nursery or kitchen. You can personalize the phrase by including family names and culture. Create the design using Corel Draw software and the vinyl cutter. Place the wall decals on smooth or lightly textured surfaces. Showcase your design on painted walls, metallic or wood surfaces. The surface can be either flat or rounded like columns or pillars. Bring material if using more than vinyl on your project. Price includes supplies in the tuition. Fort Omaha Campus, Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology, Building 24, 5300 N. 30th St. WIDX679A SA 08/20 01:00P-03:00P $45

DIGITAL BADGING
Many of the WID offerings provide digital badges for your professional portfolio. Contact corporatetraining@mccneb.edu for more information.
What is Digital Badging? A digital badge is an indicator of accomplishment or skill that can be displayed, accessed and verified online—a digital credential. Badges are issued based on established criteria for what must be done to earn the badge. When a digital badge is displayed online, clicking the image provides a description of the skill demonstrated and the criteria used to measure it.
Why do digital badges matter?
WE ARE HIRING
Workforce Innovation Division noncredit trainers wanted! Qualified trainers are needed for corporate and professional training. If you provide training not listed below, contact corporatetraining@mccneb.edu. Seeking trainers to teach industry certifications in the following areas: Code School/web development; Microsoft Office Software; Information Technology (DevOps, Programming languages, Cyber Security); insurance training courses; customer service skills; communication training courses; problem-solving; project management; soft skills; computer software; community Spanish; supervisor and leadership; CDL; Prototype Design Lab workshops; and marketing training. The application can be found on mccnebjobs.com. Position Title: Corporate Trainers Position Type: Staff-Temporary
A digital badge is important because it represents a credential or verified evidence of skill. Demonstration of these discrete skills is not dependent on completion of a degree, so a digital badge can be used to support and verify specific skills and abilities required for employment, advancement in your career or other purposes.
What does a Digital Badge look like? The level of a digital badge issued by MCC is determined through a review of the learning experience. A digital badge is aligned to one of four digital badge images that represent the level of challenge or complexity of the demonstrated skill.
How do I claim and use a digital badge? When you earn a digital badge, you receive an email with instructions about how to claim and save it. You may display your earned badges on any number of digital platforms, such as LinkedIn or a digital portfolio, as evidence of your skill. Badges may also be included in digital versions of your resume.
