MEMBERSHIP UPDATES
We have started off the year by welcoming seven new (or returning) members to the Holston Hills CC and McConnell Golf families It’s always great to see inquiries coming in on a daily basis, with a lot of member referrals tied to them. It says a lot about our club and our members. Hopefully, the spring-like weather will continue as we head into March and April With our spring aeration later this year, we have a handful of new members wanting to start at the beginning of March Which is exciting! Please be patient and welcoming to our new members If you would like to be introduced to and/or paired up with any of our new members, let Chris Dibble or myself know.
On a personal note, my oldest son (Austin) made his high school boys varsity soccer team He played JV and Varsity his freshman year, and pretty much was a starter on Varsity his sophomore year However, he switched
positions and is now playing more of an offense position. The season just kicked off with a couple of preseason games. So, if you see me running out of here on Tuesdays and Thursdays, it’s probably because I’m trying to make it to his soccer game I still can’t believe it’s his junior year
Finally, thank you again for all your on-going support and encouragement I am truly blessed to be a part of the Holston Hills CC family If there is anything I can do to help make your time here with us better and more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me My door is always open.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS:

FAITH ON FEET: THE NUGGETS AND PIZZA
Nykky Harper had no idea how much 120 breakfast biscuits weighed “I also didn’t realize how m s opportunity over the past week,” she said.
Harper and her family were volunteers to bring food and supplies to the warming centers set up to aid unhoused Knoxvillians during the snow week and low temperatures. Nykky relied on her neighbors, friends, and Holston Hills Country Club for donations. She called it a blessing: “To serve the people that, if we’re being honest, most of us divert our eyes from ”

LETTER FROM THE CHEF
I want to thank everyone who has congratulated me and Cynthia on our new promotions Your support is heartfelt, and we appreciate it The first two months were crazy with the snow storm, or should I call it the “Snow-apocalypse”, closing us and the whole city of Knoxville down for a week But we survived and are hoping not to see that much snow for a while, and that’s coming from a kid from Buffalo, NY.
As we move into March and April, we are looking forward to the warmer weather and spring We have a few new events planned with tennis and golf this coming spring Calling all whisky drinkers! We are hosting a March Mixology event featuring Jameson Whiskey. If you haven’t had a chance to attend one of our previous Mixology events, these events are more intimate and limited in number We teach you how to make three signature drinks Each drink is paired with a small plate The past three Mixology events sold out quickly; make sure you sign up today.
New this year is our Bunny Breakfast on March 23rd More details to come, but think Santa Breakfast with the Easter Bunny! We will still have our annual HHCC Easter Brunch on March 31st. Reservations are required and are open.
After talking it over with the F&B staff, the recipe for this month is for a cocktail that will be perfect for brunch; it’s called a Mimosa Margarita We will be featuring this drink in April.

MESSAGE FROM OUR ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news of my resignation as the Activities Director. Serving HHCC has been an incredibly rewarding experience, filled with laughter, unforgettable moments, new events, and a lot of dance parties. I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you for making my time here so special. In addition to the special relationships I have shared with members and their kids, the walls of HHCC will always hold a special place in my heart. My son took his first steps in the Kid’s Club, ate his first french fry in the ballroom, and said his first word in the golf shop, “ball,” of course! Thank you for your support, enthusiasm, and the joy you've brought to every activity we shared
Although I am sad to say goodbye, I am excited for the new adventures that lie ahead as I chase my toddler into a new phase of life I trust that the spirit of fun and engagement will continue to thrive under new leadership and the amazing activities leaders, who are just as excited for our HHCC activities as ever!

HHCC was recognized during the annual McConnell Golf 2024 Symposium, which was held at the Country Club of Wakefield Plantation the first week of February. The Holston Hills Country Club team was awarded the CluboftheYear title for their success in 2023.
“Holston Hills Country Club has seen significant growth since we acquired the property in 2015,” said McConnell Golf Founder John McConnell “Earning our 2023 ‘Club of the Year’ title is a testament to the organization we have in place today, including its incredible staff, facilities, and well-preserved Donald Ross course.”
