CLUB UPDATE A NOTE FROM YOUR TRIAD REGIONAL DIRECTOR
TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY
As a little girl, I recall hearing "time goes by faster the older you get" from my daddy pretty regularly. I would rebut every single time, letting him know that time passes at the same pace your entire life. Well here we are and time seems to be going by faster and faster. Believe it or not, February 1, 2021, marked Sedgefield Country Club's ten year anniversary with McConnell Golf! What an exciting ride this has been and I think we would all agree that it calls for a celebration! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, September 11, 2021, for a party that is not to be missed as we take a trip down memory lane and raise our glasses to McConnell Golf.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 | SAVE THE DATE
As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, we expect to enjoy a more normal summer and do not anticipate using a reservation system for poolside fun. The Sedgefield Fins will be back in action, including five Swim Meets, two of which will be hosted at Sedgefield. We do anticipate meets being restricted to 50% capacity on the pool deck; otherwise it should be a relatively normal swim season. If you have children ages 5 through 18, we're pretty sure they want to be a Sedgefield Fin! Check out the Aquatics Page of this publication for more information. We are excited that spectators and sponsors will be able to return to the Wyndham Championship. While the exact capacity is not certain at the moment, planning is underway as we await the arrival of the PGA TOUR in Greensboro. Mark your calendars for August 10 - 15. You may recall last year's Class of 2020 Virtual Yearbook recognizing our high school and college graduates. We are proud that this idea went on to become an award winner at the CMAA Idea Fair and also proud to make it a tradition at Sedgefield. Please watch your emails for a call to submit pertinent information to prepare the 2021 Yearbook. We will be asking for a photo of your graduate, high school or college from which they are graduating, the college that your high school graduate will be attending in the fall, and/or the degree that your college graduate earned. Thinking back on my daddy's perspective on time, as a child his comment seemed downright silly to me. As an adult, I have a newfound appreciation for his words of wisdom and find myself relishing life's memories and seeking more opportunities to create new ones with family and friends. I hope you are doing the same and that many of those moments are centered around your time at Sedgefield.
VIRTUAL YEARBOOK WINS AT CMAA IDEA FAIR The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) conducts an Idea Fair each year for the purpose of sharing ideas with managers across the country through a visual medium. Entries from 18 categories are judged on creativity, clarity, content, and transferability of the idea. Winners are announced at CMAA World Conference. The Sedgefield team won First Place in the category of Club Communications for the Class of 2020 Virtual Yearbook we published last year to recognize our high school and college graduates.
