Dear Members,

Just like that, winter has passed and we are already enjoying warmer weather. We have an exciting spring ahead of us starting with our adult only St. Patrick’s Day Party with live DJ and Irish Tapas. Then get the kids all dressed up for our Easter Egg Hunt with live petting zoo on 4/11. Also for the kids we will be having our spring break Lego Engineering Camp on March 24-27 and April 14-17 from 9am-2pm each day. Please also mark your calendars for Raleigh’s only PGA event, The Rex Hospital Open, hosted at your sister property Wakefield Plantation May 28th – May 31st. This year our members will have a much better viewing experience as our platform will be closer to and above the 18th green on the hill. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please go online to www.rexhospitalopen.com and register today. If there is anything I may assist you with please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support and have a great spring! Best Regards, Matt McConnell

March I Student U- An Inspiring Educational Program Treyburn Member, Theus Armistead will share his experiences and introduce Alexandra Zagbayou, Executive Director of Student U. She will describe this effective educational program and how the teachers support the students as they progress. Committed to Student U for 11 years, she has been a teacher, Chief Program Officer and currently, Executive Director. As an educational leader in our community, Alexandra Zagbayou serves on several boards including Dataworks and The United Way of the Greater Triangle. Understanding that the most compelling stories are told by students, she has invited three graduates to share their experiences with Student U.

April I Clare Bathé Enjoy a lovely performance written by Clare in honor of her idol and mentor, world renowned Grammy Award winning Jazz artist, Nancy Wilson. Clare brings her rich voice, infectious smile and a lifetime of entertainment career highlights to every show’s performance. In a varied career that has taken her from the chorus lines to the foot lights of Broadway, the pop hit records charts, singing alongside some of the greatest jazz artists, and headlining some of the world’s greatest cabaret clubs. Clare is a charismatic artist and performer whom Lionel Hampton has called “the greatest vocalist since Sarah Vaughan” and Lena Horne simply called her “the Singer”.

A desperate family seeks a new beginning in the near-isolated wilderness of Alaska only to find that their unpredictable environment is less threatening than the erratic behavior found in human nature.

April I “The Pick-up,” by Nadine Gordimer Facilitated by Susan Brems

The story of a couple: Julie Summers, a white woman from a financially secure family, and Abdu, an illegal Arab immigrant in South Africa. After Abdu's visa is refused, the couple returns to his unnamed homeland, where she is the alien.

Put those tips to good use and try out the recipe below!

Shrimp Taco Meal Prep Bowls Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 25 minutes Servings: 4 Calories: 335kcal

THE IMPORTANCE OF MEAL PREPPING #1 - Meal Prepping Improves Your Time Management By preparing your meals for the week and having quality, healthy food options within grasp you won't have to go out of your way to get food, saving yourself both time and some serious calories. Better management of your meals will allow you to better manage your time throughout the day. #2 - Mel Prepping Will Help You Stay on Track Having your food prepared for your entire week is the best and easiest way to keep you on track with your nutrition goals. Whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight you should have a plan regarding how much food you should be eating daily or weekly. #3 - Meal Prepping Saves You Money One of the most common misconceptions about buying

food is the notion that eating fast food is cheaper than purchasing food from the grocery store and cooking it yourself. If you are still thinking that's the case, then it's time to squash that mindset and think anew about your food. #4 - Meal Prepping Helps You Regulate Portion Control Preparing your meals allows you to control the portions of your food so you can be precise in the number of calories, carbohydrates, fat, and protein you are consuming within each meal. Unless you are bringing a pocket food scale with you everywhere you go when you eat out, unfortunately, you won't really know the difference between one cup of pasta and 1½ cups of pasta just by looking at it. #5 - Meal Prepping Helps You Win the Mental Game If you want to be the best in anything you do, and especially when it comes to fitness and your nutrition, you need to focus on winning the mental game. If you're not mentally prepared to get in the gym and lift some heavyweight, you've already lost the battle with yourself. By preparing your nutritional intake for the entire week through a couple of hours of meal prepping you are mentally preparing yourself for the week.
