Operationalizing Imaging System Cybersecurity in IoMT Environment Pranav Patel, Founder & CEO, MediTechSafe
MANAGEMENT
The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) trend has the health care industry believing that medical devices are the next security nightmare. Radiology departments and diagnostic imaging centers, in particular, are more susceptible to cyber-events because of equipment exposure to many interfaces, vulnerabilities in the equipment, criticality of the equipment and underdeveloped/ unenforced processes and policies. This session will present a holistic approach of managing medical device cybersecurity. The approach includes considerations at device, network, process and policy levels. The presentation will include examples demonstrating how the approach is operationalized for imaging systems.
Tuesday, February 19 9-10:30 AM

Alternative MRI Service
Mike Powers, Clinical Engineering Supervisor, Christiana Care Health System
MANAGEMENT
By the end of this presentation, participants should be able to advocate for a path away from OEM service for their MRI units. They should have an understanding of the failure points and potential risks for cost overruns, as well as how to acquire data to support a transition. Attendees will walk away with the building blocks for an “elevator pitch” to sell the idea to the correct stakeholders.
Tuesday, February 19 11 AM-12:30 PM
Securing Healthcare Networks: Mitigating Risk for Medical Imaging Devices
TECHNICAL
This presentation demonstrates how to secure the picture archiving and communications system (PACS) in health care delivery organizations. These systems can be vulnerable to cyberattacks. Securing them can limit exposure to a threat vector that could act as a point where an attack may be performed or serve as a pivot point into an integrated health care information system. The solutions presented can apply to a range of connected medical devices. The session will include a Q&A session.
MANAGEMENT
Hurricanes, tornados, volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes happen all over the world and they have devastating impacts of the lives of everyone affected. This includes the facilities that are often most needed during these disasters – health care facilities. How can you be best prepared? What happens when the decision is made to evacuate? What happens to the equipment left behind? What if, in the United States, FEMA decides to use your facility as a base of operations?
The Systematic Approach to Emotional Intelligence
Daniel Bobinski, President, Leadership Development, Inc.
MANAGEMENT
Did you know that in technical and middle management positions, two-thirds of the difference between average performers and top performers is emotional intelligence (EQ)? In positions of senior management and leadership, four-fifths of that difference is EQ! The good news is that EQ is learnable. It seems counterintuitive, but the easiest way to learn EQ is to not focus on emotions. Behavioral, cognitive and motivational styles each have affiliated emotions, so learn how to plug the styles into the EQ model and you’re heading toward top performance. If you want to improve productivity, effectiveness, and profitability, this session provides a systematic method for harnessing the power of emotional intelligence.
SUPER SESSION: Driving Equipment Service Success
Jeff Koford, Imaging Equipment Services Program Manager, Intermountain Healthcare
TECHNICAL
In this session, we’ll examine popular coil models and present their common modes of failure. Attendees will be able to understand how specific coil models fail, gain insight into minimizing common failures and learn some quick troubleshooting techniques so that costly repairs can be minimized.
MANAGEMENT
This session will discuss driving the results that your stakeholders are seeking from the perspective of an in-house imaging equipment services world in a health care delivery network. Being able to adequately measure and demonstrate success to your customers will prove your worth in a world where there are many options and opinions about how to best service imaging equipment.
