Quadriplegic hand cyclists suffer from sores on their hands and wrists caused by poorly designed adaptive equipment. To achieve maximum leverage, large bulky hardware is often required and in most cases the user often requires assistance in preparing the device.

In an effort to better understand the issues faced by quadriplegics and how to address them, different methods of research were utilized. Thorough comprehension of injured and non-injured anatomy is essential to know what muscles perform speciďŹ c tasks.
