FAREWELL TO GERI CAMPEAU ‘87

Geri Campeau ’87, veteran educator, administrator, and coach has left Mater Dei for an exciting opportunity as an Education Leadership Executive with Apple. In her decades at Mater Dei, Geri served as a teacher in the English department, Girls’ Basketball Coach, Athletic Director, Educational Technology Director, and finally as Assistant Principal of Academics & Technology.

Geri gives her final farewell remarks at her goodbye party on March 17.

Beyond the classrooms, the courts, and the administrative offices, Geri’s impact upon Mater Dei is immeasurable. In her capacity as Athletic Director, Geri made significant contributions to the advancement of our entire girls’ athletic program inspired by her own experience as a member of the girls’ basketball team. When Mater Dei charged into a new frontier with the iPad program, Geri was a catalyst in forming protocols, best practices, and use of the devices to enhance learning and instruction. In 30 years, she was not only an exemplary teacher and administrator, but also a mentor and friend to students, parents, and her fellow colleagues. It is truly bittersweet to say goodbye to Geri as she moves into this new adventure.

Geri enjoyed well wishes from friends including Bruce ‘97 and Laurie Rollinson.

The youngest of seven children all who attended Mater Dei, Geri shared that she has been a part of the Monarch family since she was three years old. Both of Geri’s children, Kelsey ‘18 and Kevin ‘20 are also Monarchs. No matter where you go, Geri, you will always be a part of our Mater Dei family.
