KISS THE BRIDE 2008
ON THE DAY {How and Where}We met when I applied for a job at the restaurant where Anthony worked, he always says I got the job because he thought I was cute! {Years together} We were together for five years before I suggested that he should really ask me to marry him! {The love} Vanya; “ I love Anthony’s sense of fun and adventure, he brings energy into my life and I think he is the best Dad a kid could ever wish for.” Anthony; “Vanya understands me, appreciates me and lets me go surfing, what more could I want.” {The attraction} Vanya; His self confidence and the fact that he is a hot surfie spunk. Anthony; Her style, beauty and eyes. {Your first date} We decided to go to a fancy restaurant, but on the way there Anthony’s car broke down. We caught a taxi to the restaurant and had a great time and then called my Dad to come and pick us up. After basically telling us to work it out we decided to get a hotel room for the night and then hitched all the way home the next morning! {The proposal} Anthony; I asked Vanya’s Dad’s permission first and then tried to arrange a surprise dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. This is not easy as Vanya’s curiosity always gets the better of her, add that to the fact that she was five months pregnant with our second child and you get one very unwilling participant in surprises! The night went fairly well though, and on the way home we made a slight detour to a beach we use to frequent when we were dating. After persuading my now tired and grumpy girlfriend to take a stroll in the moonlight I got down on one knee and popped the question with a mother of pearl ring. {The engagement ring} A mother of pearl ring that we bought from one of the local galleries.

{Wedding Dress} It was made by a local dressmaker from an old curtain that I have had for years, pink and pearl damask pattern. {Most exciting part of planning the wedding} I really enjoyed making all the decorations and cushions, it was such a good excuse to play with fabric! {Wedding day highlight}The Maori blessing Anthony’s father gave us because we have New Zealand greenstone in our rings. {First dance} We had selected a song for our first dance but on the day a friend of ours hijacked the band and played a recording she had sung of “Goreki” by Lamb. It was a much better choice than our original song, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. {The menu} An amazing array of finger foods, scallops on cucumber salad in asian spoons, arancini balls, mini smoked fish pies, minted lamb bruscetta, all very yummy.

ON THE DAY {How and where} I had just come back from living in the United Kingdom for two years and had headed to the Queens Hotel, Mount Lawley one Sunday afternoon where I saw James and started a conversation with him. {First date} We went to a restaurant in Mt Lawley called “Peppers”. We had an instant rapport as we had very similar interests. {The love} We are the best of friends, we laugh and joke around with each other on a daily basis. We support and love each other unconditionally. {The proposal} It was my 33rd birthday. James had purchased a leather bag as my birthday present, and when I opened the bag it was filled with Bacci chocolates. Each chocolate that I opened had a handwritten note saying “Will you marry me?, Love James.” He then formally proposed to me. {The theme} 1930’s Hollywood glamour! I researched what gowns and hairstyles were worn during that period on the Internet. When I went shopping for my gown I had a definite picture of the style in my mind, and was fortunate enough to find it. {Wedding gown} Soft fabric, slim fitting over the hips with a fish tail train. Scooped bustline with tiny straps which crossed over at the back. The fabric was embrodiered with leaf diamonte patterns. An ivory faux fur was worn for the evening.

{The decor} The table centrepieces were glass vases with Singapore orchids and twisted willow with tealights arranged around the base of the vase. Hazel brown overlays were placed over white table linen. {The flowers} I had a posy with natural stems of ivory peonie roses, reverse magnolia leaves were placed throughout the bouquet. The bridesmaids had posies with ivory and soft pink lisianthus, ivory peonies, sahara roses, white Singapore orchids. {Planning efforts} James was very proactive in assisting me and all decisions were made jointly, it helped that we have very similar tastes! My mother and two bridesmaids, Domenica and Esther, were a huge help too. {The engagement ring} Flat white gold band with five diamonds in a row. {Family’s reaction} As we had been in a relationship for four years both of our families were extremely pleased and happy for us. {Most exciting part of planning the wedding} Seeing our ideas come to fruition. I tried to be as relaxed as possible in regards to planning. By organising myself over twelve months I did not feel stressed until two weeks before the wedding.

ON THE DAY {How + When} During high school we met at a friend’s birthday party. {The proposal} We were living in Sydney and had come home to Perth for the Christmas holidays, Mike took me to our favourite local restaurant and proposed over dinner on Christmas Eve. {Engagement} We went straight home and had champagne with my parents and then out for drinks. We also held an engagement party later on. {Engagement rings} Bridal set – diamond encrusted gold band with three large diamonds. Each diamond standing for today, tomorrow and forever. {Planning the wedding} A lot of bridal magazines combined with ideas that I have had since I was a little girl, I wanted it to be very traditional and romantic. {What do you love most about each other} I love Mike’s sense of humor and easy going nature. Mike loves my zest for life and caring nature. {Theme choice} Quite traditional and formal, with a pink colour scheme. {The wedding dress} Strapless champagne coloured gown with an embroidered bodice, and a cross over middle section that opens up with chiffon and a long train with the same embroidery as the bodice.

True Love ON THE DAY
{How you met} We met through a mutual friend. David helped set us up at a high school party and the rest is history! {What you love} We are, and have been, each others’ best friend for the past 11 or so years. We are soul mates. {The proposal} Valentines Day 2005. I thought it would never be a surprise but he totally surprised me. We were down on the beach eating dinner. It was a hot stormy night with the most amazing lightning show. He knelt down on one knee and with the most gorgeous words asked if I would be his wife. Of course I said Yes! {The rings} White gold princess cut solitaire. Gorgeous and we knew it was the one as soon as we saw it. {Hens + Bucks night} My awesome bridesmaids organized a great ‘girls day out’. I had told them how much I just wanted to spend time with all my girlfriends with nice wine and great company. We went to ‘A Day On The Green’ at Sandalford winery and just had so much fun. The day was spent dancing, laughing, drinking wine and listening to great music. What more could you ask for? They did such a great job! The boys headed off to the Swan Valley for some Supa Golf followed by dinner and beers at Mash Brewery. A great time was had by all and some of them even spotted Hamish and Andy there!

KISS THE BRIDE 2008
ON THE DAY {How did you meet} I had been to the Western Derby and Nick had been watching it at home with friends. As a Fremantle Dockers supporter I headed out to celebrate the win, while Nick also headed out to comiserate his teams loss. We both ended up in what was known as the Zanzibar in Fremantle and that is where we met. {What you love most} I, (Peta) love nick’s sense of humour and the way he always makes me feel when being given a huge hug. I, (Nick) love the way Peta makes me feel when she is near me. I also love how she puts her heart and soul into everything she does. {First date} We decided to meet in Fremantle for a coffee, unknown to nick, I don’t drink coffee. We had a great time and hit it off straight away. We chatted for so long, Nick got a parking fine. {The proposal} Nick proposed on Valentine’s day. Being a florist, I’d had a very busy, long day, so was exhausted. Nick took me to Cottesloe for a relaxing dinner of fish and chips by the beach. It was after dinner he got down on one knee and proposed.

{The engagement} Shortly after Nick proposed, we ran into my brother and one of my sisters and their friends in Cottesloe. We jumped around in the middle of the road for a few minutes, sharing hugs and congratulations. Later had a casual afternoon barbeque/party at my parent’s house with friends, family and collegues. {The engagement rings}My engagement ring is a solitaire diamond on a gold band, which Nick picked out with the help of a couple of our close friends.

{Hens and Bucks night} The hens night was held at my mums house on a Saturday afternoon. We had a quiz, games and cocktails, followed by a night out on the town in Fremantle. The bucks night was held on the same Saturday as the hens night, we started at 9am when a bus came to our house to pick us up and take us to Supa Golf. From there we headed into Fremantle’s Little Creatures for lunch and then back home for a typical boys night! {Inspiration} Our individual styles and our desire to create a spectacular day for both ourselves and our guests was our inspiration. {The theme} The was no theme as such, but everything was centered around the colours of orange, brown and copper. The flowers were my main focus. {The dress} My dress was made for me by the great people out at Cupid’s Bridal. The gown was ivory silk and very basic at the front, but the back was cut low and gathered across the bottom. A detatchable train then came across the top of the gathering. {Planning the wedding} The most exciting part was our complimentary dinner trial at the Rydges Hotel. It was then that it hit us both that everything was getting so close. The most stressful part was organising the bridesmaids dresses. There was one drama after another, but they all looked gorgeous on the day! The planning was a combined effort, not a decision was made that hadn’t been run past the other person. {The menu} Our menu was a set menu with alternate drops. We chose a prawn dish and a tasting plate for the entrees. The mains were either chicken or beef, both of which were absolutley devine. The desert was brulee or meringue. {The decor} We held our reception on the garden terrace at the Rydges Hotel, so the decor was already similar to the colours for our wedding. The tables had brown table runners and brown sashes on the chairs. We had large arrangements in the middle of each table that were raised up on a brown stand. There were orange tea light candle holders and all place settings and menus were made out of brown cardboard with copper and orange detail. {Flowers used} My bouquet was made from a structure of ivy vine and cane sticks. It had orange Mokara orchids and Calla Lilies attatched as well as Pepperberry foliage and long strands of beads. The bridesmaids carried a ball of wire and cane, that had the same flowers coming across the top. The arrangements at the ceremony and reception were made using bamboo and orange roses, plus cane, orange Asiatic liliums and Leucadendrons. {Honeymoon} We went to the Maldives for seven nights and stayed in a beautiful resort called the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa. The service there and their attention to every detail from the minute they pick you up from the airport, until you depart again was impeccable. We had the honeymoon of our lives.

ON THE DAY {Ceremony } Geoff and I married at Christ ChurchGrammar’s church in Claremont. I chose this church simply because ever since I can remember, from when I was a little girl, I have always told mum that I would marry there. The ceremony was very emotional, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Afterwards, we released ten beautiful, big Monarch butterflies outside the church with our neices and nephews helping us. Butterflies symbolize progression, change, life, happiness and beauty, definitely the perfect choice for the wedding. {Bridal Party} I had my four best friends for my bridesmaids; Krystalle, Rebecca, Jenny and Lynette. Geoff’s groomsmen were his two best friends Iain and Bryan, his brother David and twin brother Craig. We also had my two cute little neices as flower girls who looked just adorable in their lavender tulle dresses with butterfly wings. {The love} We are the best of friends, we laugh and joke around with each other on a daily basis. We support and love each other unconditionally. {At the reception} We kicked off the evening by entering the reception room in Iberian tradition, that is, going straight into the dancing the moment we arrived. This was a hit with our guests as they all joined us, which really set the fun tone for the rest of the evening.

{The decor} Beautiful silver candlabras with crystal drops around the base of where the candle sits, pink bows over white chair covers and table names consisting of asian style wording. The whole room just sparkled and looked so elegant. {The flowers} Stunning arrangements of pink roses, white lilliums and light green tipped lisianthus. My bouquet was larger and had mostly pink flowers whilst the bridesmaid’s were smaller and mostly white. {Wedding gown} A beautifully designed two piece. The bodice was entirely beaded and was complemented by a box pleated, full skirt. The train was close to one metre long with a delicately beaded finish. {Bridal party attire} A mixed arrangement of fuschia pink and pistachio green with full length fish tailed skirts and fitted strapless bodices. The guys wore striking pin stripe suits that spiced up the usual look of a groomsmens’ suit. {The cake} Three tiered, delicious chocolate mud cake. {Special touches} As guests entered the church, my two nieces, dressed in lavender coloured tulle, proceeded to hand out twigs of lavender filling the air with a sweet, spring frangrance. They also had butterfly wings attached to the back of their dresses, which tied in with the releasing of the butterflies..

KISS THE BRIDE 2008
ON THE DAY {How and where} We initially met at a friend’s party, but it was our mutual love of the beach, diving and camping outdoors that brought us together. {First date} We went down to The Albion for a few quiet drinks and there was non-stop talking, we had so much in common and as they say, “We have been together ever since”. {The proposal} It was four years before Phil suprised me with a romantic proposal on my birthday. {The engagement rings} The engagement ring was a concaved matt finish band with a slight wave detail on the edges. {The theme} Because we both love the beach we wanted the wedding to be a light, coastal cocktail party. We wanted our guests to be able to mingle with each other and move around freely. Of course, water played a major part in both the ceremony and reception. {The decor} Gigantic shells were hired from a theatre supply shop and used in the reception. The final touches on the venue were white drapes and fairy lights covering the ceiling and extra tea lights positioned throughout the room. Tables were adorned with scattered rose petals, tea lights and a centrepiece of small red orchids within a tall, clear glass vase.

KISS THE BRIDE 2008
{The flowers} The flowers in my bridal bouquet was made up of orchids, lilies and roses, which I also had in my hair and were used for the bridal parties’ corsages. {Planning efforts} As Phil is a commercial diver, he spent six weeks away prior to the wedding which built the suspense, but also meant that I needed a lot of help from my mum to organise the finishing touches. {The food} The cocktails inspired menu consisted of a selection of seafood, sushi rolls, antipasto and chicken wings. We were so busy talking to family and friends that we didn’t even have a chance to sample the food! {Highlight} My highlight of the day was arriving at the ceremony in a boat, before taking my place beside my future husband, under a canopy of riverside trees. {Honeymoon} We celebrated our honeymoon over the New Year in balmy Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for four weeks. A perfect retreat for enjoying our passion for the aquatic lifestyle, as husband and wife.

ON THE DAY {What you love the most} What we love most about each other, the common viewpoints, various tendencies that we share and the mutual love that exists. {First date} Although Dimitra wasn’t sure of Matthew’s intentions, a quiet coffee at Amaretto’s (Osborne Park) formed the first date. {The proposal} We bought the rings together so it wasn’t a total surprise. We took a romantic walk through a park, sat down on a bench near a pond, the ring was produced and the rest is history. {Your engagement} We celebrated the engagement party in Adelaide where Matthew’s family lives at a hall with family and friends from both Perth and Adelaide. {The engagement rings} Dimitra’s ring is a single, brilliant cut diamond ring in a coronet setting, while Matthews’ is a plain gold band. {Hens night + Bucks night} We decided to have rather tamed bucks and hens parties, and during the day. The girls had a breakfast and minigolf adventure, while the guys had a pool competition with drinks at the Brisbane Hotel after. In the evening the bridal party went for a dinner at the Hyatt Regency, Perth. {The inspiration} The thing that inspired us most was the challenge in organizing an overall affordable wedding with value for money. Greeks, the dancing is the main part of the reception and having good music with everyone having a good time was our main concern. The Greeks actually have a word called “kefi” to describe the excitement and atmosphere caused by everyone dancing together in the traditional circular-style formation. We were pleased by the kefi which was created by everyone on the night. The wedding “crowns” were traditionally made in a wreath-like fashion with lemon flowers incorporated into the design. They are joined by a ribbon, which symbolises Christ who joins the couple together. The crowns are also symbolic in the Orthodox faith for martyrdom. In other words, the couple are preparing to sacrifice their own needs for one another in their life ahead and are crowned to each other. {The theme} Theme colours were red with some silver and gold. {The planning} Was a combined effort, we wanted to have joint input, although the bride did take on the majority of tasks. Needless to say, there was almost a divorce before the wedding even happened! {Most exciting /stressful part} Most things were organised without too much stress. Delays and a lack of attention to detail led by a particular company organizing our bonbonieries was probably the most stressful. They produced labels which were incorrect against what was proofed and they almost didn’t arrive on time. Wrong sizes were supplied for

KISS THE BRIDE 2008
ON THE DAY {How you met} We studied architecture at Curtin University together and were good friends for years. We started dating whilst travelling through Canada.
{The theme} We just wanted to keep it simple, fun and elegant. It was really a three day wedding where our friends and family joined us for a lot of good food, wine and time on the beach.
{The love}We are best of friends who have lots of fun together. We both love architecture, travelling and adventure. We spend a lot of time laughing!
{Wedding gown} Simple and beautiful. The fabric was amazing, silk with miniature pleats in it. It was hand dyed with very subtle colour changes, fading from white to cream at the base. It had details of beading and feathers.
{The proposal} We were in the Rocky Mountains in Canada. Brook make me climb Johnstone Canyon to some beautiful mineral pools. We were the only people there. We sat down for a snack and instead of passing me a bag of peanuts, Brook passed me the ring. {Engagement}“Petanque and Plonk” – an afternoon on Matilda Bay playing Petanque (bocce) and drinking wine with friends and family. {Engagement rings} Brook designed my rings – brushed white gold with a princess cut solitaire diamond. {Hens and Bucks night} My bridesmaid’s organized my hen’s night as a suprise. Firstly they took me to the Must Wine Bar for a Mojhito, then back to a room at the Sebel East Perth, where all my friends and family surprised me with cocktails and canapés – served by young men with no shirts on! The men then serenaded me with guitars – embarrassing but fun! For the Buck’s, a day of paintballing in 40 degree heat, followed by dinner at The Left Bank in Fremantle. {Inspiration} We wanted to have a simple, elegant and intimate wedding with our closest friends and family. A long weekend down south was the perfect way to ensure a relaxing and fun wedding.
{Planning your wedding} We organised everything ourselves which was a both exciting and stressful, but worth it as our wedding day was exactly as we had imagined it. {The first song} “Fly me to the moon”, by Frank Sinatra. {The menu}After the ceremony we enjoyed Pimms and lemonade at Honeymoon Hill before moving to Yallingup for the reception. There were elegant cocktails with local produce showcasing the tastes of the South West for our Canadian guests (Brook is originally from Canada so we had friends and family travel for our wedding.) Romano and Alison from Margaret River Fine Foods created a diverse menu combining all of our favourite foods. The food and service could not have been better, with many guests giving rave reviews. {Decor} White linen pillows, orange and brown ribbons, flowers, fairy lights and white paper lanterns. {Flowers used} Assorted green foliage with white oriental lilies, orange spider orchids and succulents.

ON THE DAY {First date} Darrel took me out for dinner to a cosy restaurant in Cottesloe. We had a great night getting to know each other and from the very first date I knew that I had met my soul mate {The proposal} Valentines Day, Darrel has surprised me by organising to stay at the Parmelia Hilton. We had dinner and then decided to walk along the foreshore and that is where he asked me to marry him, I can’t even describe how I felt, I was totally shocked and so excited. {The rings} Megan’s; 18carat yellow gold single stone 1.01carat diamond ring. Darrel’s; white gold and titanium band. {The decor} Each guest table had a round glass mirror with a tall glass vases containing white orchids featured with black sticks with black feathers and eight black & white tea lights surrounding the vase. {Wedding gown} My dress was an amazing creation by Kevin at Galleria Couture; it was a strapless white silk gown with intricate metal detailing. {The flowers and decor} My bouquet was a modern teardrop with white lilies, the buttonholes were made up of a white orchid with black feathers with the centrepieces being white orchids with black sticks standing in tall glass vases. The bridal table had white orchids, black sticks, white lilies, lush tropical leaves and black feathers. Black and white tea lights where placed from one end of the table to the other. {The food} Entrée was baked tiger prawns with steamed asparagus, spring onions and soya vierge, mains were a choice of either chargrilled sirloin beef with gorgonzola soft polenta and red onion chilli compote or chicken breast with pomme subric, creamed celeriac, corn and field mushrooms, balsamic and sage jus. The desert; pear and frangipani tart with vincotto marinated strawberry and pistachio gelato. {Planning the wedding} I loved planning every aspect of our wedding although I must admit the most stressful part was the week before checking that you had done everything and not forgotten anything. {Honeymoon} Was a fantastic time spent in Melbourne, relaxing, eating, drinking and shopping!

{How and where} We met through our sisters (our bridesmaids) who went to university together about four and a half years ago. Luke was the nominated ‘taxi’ when Kate, Luke’s sister, myself and a few other friends had a night out at the Luxe bar in Mount Lawley. {The love} Dee; Luke is so talented and ambitious, and very sweet as well. Luke; Dee has a great sense of humour, she’s a bit quirky like me and so easygoing it’s scary. {Hens + Bucks} Dee; a catch-up dinner with the girls at the Subiaco Hotel. Luke; bowling seventies disco style! All the boys dressed up in seventies garb, complete with afro’s. Luke was suitably decked out as Disco Elvis. {The proposal} Luke lit thirty or so tea light candles and placed them around the garden of the chalet we were staying at in Margaret River. He had me locked in the bathroom until he was ready and then led me out to the garden, got down on one knee and popped the question. {The rings} Princess cut diamond, which I later had made into my wedding ring by attaching love rings to either side. {The inspiration} The spectacular views from Luke’s parent’s property in the Chittering Valley. You may only be standing on a hillside but you feel like you’re up in the mountains – it’s a truly magical place. It has also been a special place for the Jackson family and meant a lot to Luke to hold the wedding there.

{Wedding gown} Ivory silk chemise, with pleating and boning under the bust and a straight skirt with a small train. With high heels, it wasn’t the easiest dress to walk in, especially on gravel and in paddocks, but luckily I made it through the day without falling over, however I did have give up the heels for white havaianas at the end of the day! {The flowers and decor} Lots of roses! The bouquets had white, green and light pink roses. The groomsmen wore white roses and the parents and grandparents all had buttonholes or corsages of white orchids. The arrangements for the marquee were white and green, with lots of roses and white orchids. The flowers were fantastic! The ladies at Vegetal did a great job; they even delivered to the farm! {The food} A gourmet cocktail reception with afternoon supper. {Planning the wedding} Both of our families were a great help. Luke’s mum and dad made the farm look spectacular, they even had earthworks done for the marquee site, with the farm being situated on a hillside, there isn’t too much level ground. My sister, Lisa, was also a great help, she flew over to Sydney to sort out all the loose ends and bridesmaids stuff. Planning a wedding from the other side of the country was not easy. We had to fly back a few times to see suppliers and visit farm to figure out how the whole day would work.

ON THE DAY {How and where} We met at a friend’s birthday drinks at the Cottesloe Hotel. We had a mutual friend who invited the both of us. {First date} We went to Scarborough as it was a very warm night, where we had an icecream from Peter’s by the Sea and walked along the beach. {The proposal} Joel proposed to me when we went to my cousin’s wedding in Cyprus on the balcony of our hotel room overlooking the ocean. {The love} Leonie; Joel has a very kind heart and is always ready to help anyone who needs him. Joel; Leonie also has a big heart, especially when it comes to animals, but also has a crazy, warped sense of humour.. {The engagement ring} A stunning princess cut diamond (1/3 carat, D colour) with small baguette diamonds either side set in 18carat white gold. {Hens + Bucks night} Hens; a “Hollywood Glamour” party with a full buffet dinner, all made by my mum and her friends. There was a cocktail machine, wine and spirits. Later in the evening there was a stripper and then dancing until the early hours. Everyone looked very glamorous at the beginning of the night! Bucks; a typical “boys night” held in the function room at the Dollhouse Gentlemans Club. The boys watched a special stage show and later continued on to Northbridge to the various nightclubs. {Family’s reaction} Everyone was very pleased, although a little surprised that the engagement had come so soon as we had only been together for six months. {Wedding gown} Red! Strapless bustier bodice with red, grey and white Swarovski crystals all over and a lace up back. Big princess style skirt with box pleats at the front and a long crystal covered train. {The flowers and decor} My bouquet was made up of cream roses, and the bridesmaids had deep red roses with bear grass. The boy’s corsages were cream and red roses and our mother’s corsages were cream orchids. {The decor} Table centrepieces were glass platters with white and red pebbles, a large ivory church candle and horse shoes spray-painted silver. The bridal table had ivy vine, pebbles and lots of candles. {The food} Entree was tapas plates with bread, dip, chicken tenderloins and canapes. Mains were a choice of fillet steak, chicken with mango coulis or red emperor with garlic mash. The dessert was the wedding cake and assorted cheese with crackers and handmade truffles. {Planning the wedding} It was mostly the girls, in particular mum and our chief bridesmaid, Heidi. Joel chose the cars and he was happy to leav e everything else to us. {Honeymoon} A fantastic time spent in Melbourne, relaxing, eating, drinking and shopping!!

{The wedding dress} My dress was a simple crisp white halter-neck that had a real beach feel about it. It was backless with a cute little train and had pin-tucks over the skirt which made it that little bit different. {The most exciting and stressful part of planning your wedding} Knowing that all of our friends and family would be coming to Broome and experiencing exactly what we love about it and having a fabulous party. Most stressful was definitely the seating arrangements, which is so silly because on the night people just eat and then get up and mingle anyway. {Your feelings the day before} We were both a bit overwhelmed with everyone we loved being in Broome at the same time. Poor Beau was quite sick with the flu so I think we were excited that by the end of the next day all of the stress and build up would be over. {Wedding highlights} Beau; the part when I put the ring on Melita’s finger. Also seeing all of our friends have a good time at the reception. Melita; for me, I loved the part where we walked in to the reception and our MC said welcome to Mr and Mrs Waters and all our friends and family were cheering and so happy for us, that was unreal. {The first dance} “I Want to Grow Old With You” by Adam Sandler. The lyrics are actually really beautiful and true and one of Beau’s friends sang it for us which made it even more special. {The menu} We had delicious food from Limpopo Gourmet. Liz created a great ‘Shared Table’ menu where each table had a two tiered platter with roast beef, fish and chicken all done in Liz’s beautiful spices on the top platter and summer roasted vegetables on the bottom platter. Our guests still can’t stop raving about the food! {The decor} The reception was outside at Pearl Luggers in front of these restored Pearling boat replicas, the sails were up and we projected pictures of the Kimberley on to them all night, it was magical, we didn’t really need many other decorations. {The flowers} The flowers used in the bouquets were pink, white and green orchids. {Memorable speeches} We had all of our speeches right at the beginning of the night before dinner, so we could get on with the food and the dancing. They were all lovely, I think Beau’s dad did the shortest speech in the world he basically said “Thanks for coming, we love Beau and we love Melita and we’re happy she’s in the family.” {The Honeymoon} We spent a couple of nights at The Mangrove Resort Hotel but Beau was so sick with the flu that we ended up spending the whole time lying in bed while I nursed his fever. A couple of months later we went up to Kooljaman at Cape Leveque for a week which was absolutely stunning!

ON THE DAY {First date} Sitting at Cottesloe beach on a blanket chatting for hours. {The proposal} On my birthday Damian told me to close my eyes and he put a box in my hand with a one carat diamond ring in it! {The love} Tara; the thing I love most about Damian is his ability to always make me laugh and he is so caring and sweet. Damian; I love the way Tara makes me feel. {The rings} White gold Tiffany setting with one carat diamond. We then had matching plain white gold wedding bands. {Engagement celebration} A low-key barbeque at home with close friends and family. {Wedding gown} Very simple, long, backless, low cut gown. My mum glued on the crystals one by one. I wanted to look sexy on my wedding day! {Most exciting part} Having our friends and family travel with us- it was a week long celebration, rather than just one day. We were so excited and were counting down the hours, it couldn’t come around quickly enough. {The highlight} Damian; seeing the way my beautiful bride looked, Tara; saying our vows, those words are very powerful. {The food} We let our guests choose anything they wanted which ended up being lots of seafood. All of the food was absolutely delicious. {Planning the wedding} Our wedding was really easy to organise and we did it together - it’s all part of the journey. {The flowers} Frangipanis everywhere, after all, we were in Bali! The staff at our villas covered the entrance, the bed and filled the bath with rose petals and frangipanis. {The honeymoon} We stayed for a week in Seminyak and Ubud, Bali, and then will be spending a week later in Mauritius (whilst celebrating another friends wedding).
