APRIL 2023 NEWSLETTER
A Message From Your General Manager Spring is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. I have an overwhelming feeling that we are going to be blessed with great weather this season. With that, I anticipate all the Club’s facilities will be going full throttle shortly and hope you are able to take advantage of the wonderful amenities and events we have planned this year. John Baker and his crew are already gearing up the course as we move into the tournament season. All pre-emergents have been completed. The course will start greening up with the warmer weather. Thanks to the members that came out for Divot Day, the response was superb, two gators full of sand were used to fill all the divots through 18 holes. Please do your part to fill your divot and another during play. Swimming pool planning is underway, and I would like to remind you that we have ended our agreement with Swim Club Management company. It is our hope that we can manage things more efficiently in house, and lifeguards will report directly to Cramer Mountain Club with Shannon Irish managing this year. Will Borders continues to do a great job maintaining our courts. I enjoy seeing the juniors on the courts with Will as he works with them to be better players and enjoy the game. The Tuesday night Quads game is a great way to meet members and be competitive at the same time. The Clubhouse Restaurant rolled out their new menu March 21st keeping some of your favorites adding some new items which we think you will enjoy. There are some wonderful events planned this month, kicking off with our Oyster Roast on April 1st, Easter Brunch with Egg Hunting at 2pm April 2nd will be a great time for our kids and Bourbon and Cigar night on April 20th. Chef Danny will continue weekly specials that will be promoted so keep an eye on your emails. Golf Operations begins the season April 1st and does not let up until early November with member tournaments and outings. A few items that I would like to reiterate are the following: Golfers who choose to walk must check in with the Golf Shop (there is no walking Saturday/Sunday before noon). I would like to stress the importance of booking the correct number of players for your tee time and calling us when you or your playing partners cannot make it out to play. TBDs are becoming an issue with our tee sheet, with the warmer weather coming we want every golfing member to have the opportunity to play so please add all names to the tee sheet, the Golf Shop will clear TBDs 24 hours prior to play. Blocking times that are not used effects rounds and revenue. We are implementing a 48-hour cancellation policy effective immediately. This cancellation policy will affect all social events, tennis, and golf tournaments. If you are unable to attend it is imperative that you cancel within the 48-hour time frame or you will be member charged. MOUNTAIN VIEW | CRAMER MOUNTAIN CLUB

After 2 years, he accepted a position at Lake Nona Country Club, a private club in Orlando, Florida. David Leadbetter was Director of Golf at the time and Gregor Jamieson was Head Pro. I n 1992 he accepted a position as a Head Teaching Professional in Europe. While teaching in Austria he was able to develop his own style based on the best of everything that he had been taught. He continued to apply this knowledge and worked for 15 years in Austria and Switzerland developing into a reputable teacher, as well as a Top 10 PGA Order of Merit player. In 2006 his wife and he decided to move back to her hometown, Cape Town, South Africa. It is there that he built his own practice facility and founded the Chuck Johnson Golf Academy. In 2020, with two teenage sons, they decided to relocate back to Mount Holly, NC building the Chuck Johnson Golf Academy. I am honored to accept the position as Head Golf Professional at Cramer Mountain Club. I have always enjoyed playing the golf course and I look forward to bringing my 30 years of experience as a PGA professional to this prestigious club. Although I am already acquainted with many of the members, I look forward to meeting all the members. Together with a strong team we can create an atmosphere that gives each and every member the opportunity to achieve their goals on the golf course. My goals and philosophy are really quite simple, the more fun you have playing golf, the more golf you play! Sincerely, Chuck Johnson MOUNTAIN VIEW | CRAMER MOUNTAIN CLUB
