A Message From Your General Manager

August, often referred to by some as the “Sunday of Summer”, also provides much to look forward to as we transition into my favorite time of year As you begin preparations to go out of town or check an item from your bucket list before school officially starts, be sure to continue spending your spare time at the club

An annual affair, we will soon be modifying our hours of operation for the pool as the staff return to school. Beginning August 14th, the pool will be open weekdays from 10am-8pm, Saturdays from 10am-8pm and 12pm-8pm on Sundays. The pool will be open for swim at your own risk from 10am8pm Mondays-Fridays.

Based on my oversight and the rave reviews I received from many members, I would consider the 2023 season a massive success! We’ve had great attendance to date Our Cramer Mountain Crocs Swim Team had a great season and with that we held two swim meets at home showing off our club/pool to other clubs (500+ people) for both meets Our Swim coach, Carol Fick guided the team and taught our children many swim lessons over the summer.

As we transition months, there is a lot of Food & Beverage news and excitement to look forward to! I am thrilled to welcome back Eric Buchanan to Cramer Mountain Club. Eric has assumed the role of General Manager of The Clubhouse Restaurant. Please stop by and welcome him back home. The CMC App is ready to go “LIVE”, instructions on how to upload is on the next page.

The play on the golf course continues at a record pace and thanks to John Baker and his crew for the hard work to keep our course in great conditions I would encourage members to consider playing in the Thursday night Men’s League as this is a great way to meet other members

As always thank you for your support of the Club, please let me know if I can help in any way.

Pro's Corner

Hello Members,

August is Championship month! The Junior Championship and Ladies’ and Senior Ladies' Championship will be held together on the 19th and 20th of this month. Our Men’s and Senior Championship is scheduled for the 26th and 27th. Championships are gross and net division winners. We look forward to a great turnout! If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up online or call the golf shop.

With these upcoming tournaments, we are expecting a lot of practice as everyone prepares. The driving range may become crowded this month, please continue to use driving range etiquette. Please keep the putting green free of balls with green sweeper, it’s the big white thing on the putting green. If you leave the driving range area to go putting or chipping, remember to take your golf bag with you to free up space for others. We encourage our golfers to practice with friends and fellow golfers as it’s a great way to have fun! We ask that you please be respectful of others using the driving range Please keep noise levels down and be mindful of personal space

As a family-oriented club, we hope this message reaches golfers of all ages Parents, please share this newsletter with your juniors

Lastly, we would like to remind you of our Saturday Beginners Clinics. The junior clinic is from 2pm3pm and the adult clinic is from 3pm-4pm. Come on out and let Devin help you improve! Please register for each session online.

See you on the course!

Tennis News

Summer is still here for us in August as we transition back into the school and fall schedules We had a great Pickledon, busy camp season, and plenty of challenges taking place in the singles ladder in July. Monday nights are gaining traction on the pickleball courts, come out and dink it around with us! It’s also time to start booking your afterschool clinic times with Will to reserve your spot for the fall if you’re wanting to do a regular slot.

As a reminder, please remember to book your court times online through the court reservation dashboard on the club website. That goes for the hard court area as well for pickleballers and basketballers so we can keep track of numbers and don’t run into conflicts.

Just a quick reminder to please make sure you keep shirts on at the hard-courts and tennis courts as well as proper shoes for the clay courts Also, members are welcome to bring a guest to play, just note it when booking the court reservation, as there is a $5 guest fee per booking Thank you for your attention to these policies!

Restaurant Updates

Happy August everyone! I hope everyone has enjoyed the summer and time with family and friends. I wanted to say thank you all for being so welcoming upon my return to the restaurant. Moving forward we will continue to fine tune everything to make for an exceptional member experience.

It won’t be long and the kids will be back in school and we all go back to our “school schedules”. Moving into cooler weather (hopefully), we will start to introduce Friday night entertainment on the patio starting in September To add in a change of the seasons, we will also be rolling out a new menu in the coming weeks that will include more seasonal items

The Summer Luau was rescheduled to Saturday, September 2nd so make sure you sign up if you haven’t already

August the 12th we will have the Dive-In Movie Night down by the pool with the bar and outside grill open until 9 and will also be offering a dinner special up in the restaurant that evening, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

The team and I look forward to serving you!

2023 CMC Crocs

We are so proud of this year’s Crocs Swim Team and the wonderful season they had It is with great pleasure that we announce that our age group six (6) and under swimmers placed second in their league finals on July 1 Congratulations to those eleven (11) swimmers who swam their hearts out and brought home the ‘bling’

In addition, a huge shout out to our older swimmers (ages 7-18) who had their last meet at the Gaston Invitational Swim Association finals held July 14-15. We had many outstanding swimming times and winning relays which propelled the team to a wonderful overall finish beating our last year’s record.

The children and their families will be celebrating their successful year with a ‘banquet’ on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the CMC clubhouse restaurant. Surely to be a fun time, the swimmers will enjoy a nice dinner and receive their individual awards.

We also wish to thank all the parents who not only got their swimmers to practices and the meets, but provided much needed help throughout the season Our members served as GISA League Representatives, timers, bench ‘moms’, scorers, finish judge and as a great help to our coach at practices

We look forward to next year and our 2024 season and encourage all of you to consider the activity for your family.
