PROJECT SPACE ANNUAL REPORT (2015-2016) 年度報告

我們是誰? WHO ARE WE? PROJECT SPACE (香港註冊慈善團體編號91/12387) ，由一班熱心發展義務及慈善工作的青年及專業人士所成立。 PROJECT SPACE (Hong Kong Registered Charitable Institution Ref: 91/12387), was founded by a group of passionate young students and professionals who dedicated efforts in charity and volunteer services.

使命 OUR MISSIONS 我們相信，每一個小孩子也是十分重要的。我們希望見到每個小孩子都有合適、美好的成長環境，擁抱未來。可是，社會上有無數的貧窮兒童及家庭，未必能生活於適切及衛生的居所，甚至缺乏基本的生活所需。透過組織慈善及義工活動，以愛心接觸不同的家庭，本會並希望協助有需要的兒童及家庭建立美好、安全、衛生的居住空間及生活居所。

We believe, every child is very important. We are eager to see that every child can have a suitable and decent environment to grow and embrace future with hope. However, there are numerous underprivileged children and family in the society. They are unable to live in a suitable and hygienic living space, some even lack basic and essential living factors. Through organizing charity event and volunteer work, we are keen on contacting different families. We aim at helping children and family in poverty, to help them build a decent, safe, sustainable living environment.

本地小型家居改善計劃

在本港，很多居住於城市中的家庭無法負擔一個安全及衛生的居住空間。本會接觸的個案中，很多家庭長期居住於劏房、貨櫃屋和帶有安全或衛生問題的居所，有時，可能是擠迫問題、家庭經濟問題、蟲患等種種原因，嚴重影響小朋友健康和成長。於2016年，服務已累積有超過103戶家庭登記，我們派出多名義工及專業人士(包括社工、維修技工、學生、室內設計專員等等)去支援有需要家庭。本地小型家居改善計劃服務包括: -義工探訪 -搬運雜物及油油 -購置基本家具 -除蟲、重置空間等。

Local Home Improvement Service

We also discover that not only children in rural area need a better living environment. In Hong Kong, there are numerous urban families who cannot afford to live in a safe and hygienic living space. In some cases, there are serious overcrowding, family financial problem, and insects’ problem. All this factors made children lack a healthy living space to grow. Til 2016, the services have totally 103 enrolled families. We have sent out volunteers and professional experts (including social workers, technicians, students and interior design experts) to support these families.

OUR MILESONES PS 里程碑

2011年，PROJECT SPACE由一班熱心發展義務及慈善工作的青年所成立。

2012年，本會以義工形式支援一所在尼泊爾的非牟利組織VAN，為一個貧困的農村Lahachok建設校舍課室，該校舍每年正為120名小孩提供教育的地方。 2013年，本會正式成為本地註冊慈善團體，正式為本地弱勢社群服務，提供小型家居改善服務。另外，我們亦積極籌款，準備發展更多慈善項目。 2014年，本會與東華三院家庭服務中心合作，舉辦試驗性質小型家居改善服務及活動。在6個月的活動中，為本地家庭作小型家居改善服務。義工總服務時間達到230小時。 2015年，本會由聖誕老人基金會贊助，開展一項名為「鐵皮小孩小型家居改善服務」計劃，針對本地劏房戶、貨櫃屋及其他居住環境惡劣之家庭提供服務。該服務每年為本地60-120戶兒童及其家庭改善家居生活積素。

In 2011, PROJECT SPACE was founded by a group of passionate youth from multidiscipline professions, who are eager to develop a charity to help people.

In 2012, Project Space volunteers connected to an NGO called VAN in Kathmandu, Nepal for a school repair and expansion project in Lahachok, Kaski District. With over 400 hours of preparation and on site work, the classrooms built by Project Space are now serving 120 children in the village per annual. In 2013, Project Space has become a registered charity in Hong Kong. We serve the local underprivileged families with home improvement services. In 2014, we had completed a pilot home improvement project and activities with the support and collaboration with Tung Wah Group of Hospital’s Integrated Family Service Centre. Total hours of direct services (by all volunteers) had reached 230 hours. In 2015, PROJECT SPACE received grants by Operation Santa Claus Foundation and launched a project called Project Space Squatter Kids Home Improvement Project. We served mainly for children and family in local sub-divided units, container flat and other adverse living environment. The service by Project Space are now serving 60-120 children and their family per annual with improving living condition.

故事 STORY 文文的女兒向同學誇口稱她自己有張獨立的床。這雖

然看似沒有甚麼特別值得炫耀，但對於生活在貧窮線下一家三口的家庭來說，實在是非常奢侈。現時香港居住在劏房、貨櫃屋和帶有安全或衛生問題的居所的家庭約有80,000個，文文一家三口就住在狹小的房間，日常生活都在那雙層碌架床，文文的女兒獨佔上隔床。文文稱﹕很多香港(劏房)家庭都睡在同一張睡床上，這裡很多窮人，也只能如此了。文文一家三口兩年前從內地移居到深水埗，她和丈夫重新在香港找工作，希望讓他們的女兒在較好的教育制度下成長。自從去年上格床損毀，文文無錢維修，他們三人就擠在一起睡下格床。文文家庭隨後收到本會Project Space「鐵皮小孩家居改善計劃」的資助，為他們購置了一張全新的雙層床。此改善計劃是由南華早報聖誕老人基金會捐助，每年與香港電台合辦節日籌款活動，曾捐助120個有需要家庭，為他們提供維修傢俱、棄置雜物及除虫等工作。文文說，現在覺得很好，很高興，因為我們的日常生活都在這床上，再不用擔心那床會隨時塌下。

Man Man's daughter brags to her classmates that she has her own bed. This might

seem an unusual thing to be proud of, but for this family of three, living below the poverty line, it is a luxury. Man and her husband and daughter are one of the 80,000 families in the city squeezed into tiny, one-room subdivided flats. Daily life centers around the bunk bed they installed this year with a separate tier for their daughter. "A lot of families in Hong Kong sleep in the same bed together," she says. "There are a lot of poor people here, so that's just how it goes."When their bunk bed broke last year they could not afford to get it repaired and had to sleep together as it started to slowly cave in. Man worried that someone would get hurt. With financial support from last year's Operation Santa Claus - the South China Morning Post's annual festive fundraising drive jointly held with RTHK - the charity helped 120 households, providing furniture repairs, garbage disposal and pest control. "I feel better, happier now that I don't have to worry about the bed. I can sit here without worrying that it will cave in. We do everything on this bed," she says, adding that their television is also broken and needs fixing.

過去一年，本會共有19名義工恆常參

加本會舉辦的服務，他們是來自各大專院校學生、過去的服務對象及青少年服務中心等，主要負責義工探訪、清潔、搬運雜物及油漆、購置基本傢俱、除蟲、重置空間等。 2016年，本會共有4名義工獲社會福利署頒發義工運動的個人嘉許狀(包括2名銅獎、2名銀獎)；而本會則獲機構銅獎加許狀，機構總服務時數超過300小時。本會的義工小組亦同時獲得銅獎加許狀。

regularly join the services. Volunteers come from university students, past service users and youth centers. They helped in volunteer visits, janitor work, painting and purchasing basic home goods, pest control and reorganizing spaces. 4 volunteers was granted with Individual Awards Volunteer Movement by the Social Welfare Department) (2 Bronze and 2 Silver). Project Space was granted with Bronze Award of Participating Organization of Volunteer Movement which service hours exceed 300 hours. The volunteer group was also granted Bronze Award of Volunteer Movement.

資源及發展 RESOURCES AND DEVELOPMENT 2015-2016年，本會應邀請出席多個團體及單位之活動及進行協作，以擴展及優化本會之慈善服務。

本會年內曾接受兩次南華早報的訪問，報導本會之受惠家庭概況，服務經傳媒發放後，得到善心人士的捐款。同年，本會法團獲邀請出席國際組織仁人家園舉辦的第五屆亞太區房屋論壇，主題是解決低收入家庭的住屋問題。截至2016年中，本會之家居改善服務已為多於103戶有需要家庭，作出登記、家居改善及物資派發。當中，本會與本地的社區服務單位進行協作及個案服務，單位包括﹕

In 2015-2016, our Organisation have received and attend a lot of invitation of cooperation with different

organisation and units. We worked together to develop and consolidate our services. Project Space had two media coverage by the South China Morning Post. After the media reports on project beneficiaries, our Project received generous donations from the public community. Meanwhile, Project Space was invited to attend the 5th Asia Pacific Housing Forum as conducted by international NGO Habitat for Humanity. The theme of forum was solving the housing problem of low income family. Also in 2016, the home improvement services have already served 103 beneficiary families, with registration, home improvement work and home goods delivery. In the cases, we cooperated with different social services units and shared casework. The units included
