FIRST AID AND CPR
Would you like to learn how to make patterns for pants that fit you like a glove? Are you tired of spending hours adjusting patterns only to find they still don’t fit? Then why not come along to a pant and dress, pattern-drafting workshop where you will learn how to make patterns in YOUR measurements the quick and easy way. Learn the tricks of the trade, giving you confidence to sew for yourself and even others. On the day you will make and try on, a calico pattern for you. Be personally fitted by Maria Boncaldo, the inventor of “The Pattern Drafter” then shown how to modify the pattern in your chosen design. Pattern Drafting has never been so easy to do; and you don’t need any previous experience. Now you can be your own designer. Come along to an informative and fun day out for yourself. COOKING CLASSES We are pleased to have Jarna Kelly bringing us her expertise to bring you some great cooking classes Basics to Beyond Each week you will prepare a meal using different ingredients and cooking methods, and then explore how to add the 'Wow' factor. If the world of computers baffles you but you are finding you need to learn some basic skills to move into the digital world? This class will give you the practical skills you need. This class in a follow on from our Computers for the terrified. I will provide you with practice as well as some new skills in using your computer. We will be focussing on individual interests such as photo editing and storage or word processing and spreadsheets depending on the needs of participants.
Become a Google Guru There is so much more to Google than just the search engine. Everything from keeping yourself organised with calendars, tasks, reminders, creating and storing documents and pictures in the cloud as a great free alternative to Microsoft office, creating surveys and much much more for your business or personal use. This 1 hour online class will give you ideas and strategies to get the most out of many google applications.

We explore your iPad in more depth. You can try before you buy using one of our class iPads to help you decide if it is a useful tool for you. Explore operations, trouble shooting and help. CREATE A PHOTOBOOK Date: Wednesday June 8th Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm Cost:$ 25.00 Following on from the next step computer class Wendy will help you put together a photobook which you can get printed into a beautiful glossy book and also diaries and calendars. Makes a lovely gift or keepsake for yourself or your family. You will need to bring along a small (not more than 50) selection of photos and it is useful but not essential for you to use your own laptop for this class.
IT HELP Do you need some one-on-one assistance to get your technology problems solved? Assistance is available for most I.T. questions including ones relating to tablets, laptops, PCs, and software issues. Strictly by appointment. You will need to specify a little about your questions so we can secure the right person to assist you. Phone us for an appointment. Cost $10.00 for a 30 minute session.
Getting started with Social Media for your business There is a difference between using social media for personal use and as a tool for your business. This 1 hour online class will give you some tips about how to get started in social media for your business. Thursday 5th June 7.00 to 8.00pm These new introductory classes will be free. Please enrol to receive the information about using the online classroom including an introductory session to test and familiarise yourself with the room.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING FUN AND FITNESS
TAI CHI Tai Chi is a moving form of meditation. The movements have a low impact on the body and help to maintain a healthy body and mind. Each class is structured to ease the participant through particular movements. Participants of varying ages and abilities are encouraged to learn at their own pace, gaining greater strength and balance throughout the classes. The advanced class with Patricia shows you advanced moves in Tai Chi that help with your physical and mental-well being. Desma’s and Sandra’s classes introduce you to the moves that help you learn to control your breathing and improve your well-being.
FUN FITNESS FOR EVERYONE –Katrina Friday April 15th—June 24th 2-3pm Cost: $88.00 11 weeks or $10 Casual At the Meredith Community Centre. “Strength and fitness” class suitable for all age groups. Suitable for men and women of all fitness levels and abilities and will benefit those with health conditions, including osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes and chronic heart disease. Are you interested in participating in Steady Feet in Meredith? Steady Feet is a program designed for older adults to reduce the risk of falls by performing exercises to challenge the balance systems and to increase strength and flexibility of the lower limb muscles. This program includes weekly sessions (including a pre-test session and a post-test session) conducted by qualified exercise professionals. It will run for 1hr & incorporate exercises. Also an opportunity to socialise and gain advice from health professionals on a range of health issues. You will need a signed medical check by your Doctor to participate. Occasional Care We have experienced and qualified childcare educators committed to providing a quality service in a warm friendly environment. Our program is designed to meet the individual needs of your child and the needs of the group. We welcome you to come and visit the Centre and talk to our staff. We are increasing our program times in 2016.
Program days and times 3 Hour sessions—Mon, Tue and Thur 9.15 to 12.15 5 Hour sessions—Wed and Fri 9.15 to 2.15 Kinder pick up session Mon, Tue & Thur 2.00 to 3.15. Children will be either taken over to the Primary school by our teacher to join the after school program at 3.15 or you can collect your kinder and school aged child at the same time. The service is registered with DET so that you can access the Childcare Benefit and Childcare Rebate, which assists in making care in our Centre affordable.
